This was our first time here and after a long day of hiking this was fun experience. We checked in and had a short wait before seated. Hosts were professional. We came right before the 9pm live music started and ended up sitting right behind the piano which made it fun. Our server was very attentive and kind. The bee experience was so fun and surprising all in one. The food was good- I will admit the bun of the bison burger was dense and dry in m opinion. There's a downstairs area that is an English pub style atmosphere but I really enjoy the upstairs! We have been here before, but last night was different. Everything we ordered was hitting on all cylinders. The bar looked immaculate, the noise level wasn't high, the seats at the bar were great. I can't remember the name of our first bartender, but she was great and I should've written her name somewhere to remember it. She made the Risky Buzz-ness cocktail for me and it was the best drink I have ever had. So good that I had four of them. We ordered the fish and chips and a bowl of French onion soup, which was DELICIOUS. The tartar sauce was seasoned to perfection and the fish was great, with just the right of batter. I did not eat the citrus cake but my husband said it was decadent. The Golden Bee is my favorite place to go while staying at the Broadmoor. If I could bring the bartender home with me, I would have the cocktail every single evening with dinner. Thank you, Golden Bee, for making our stay in Colorado Springs memorable. This place was so cool! My family and I went to the Golden Bee for dinner to celebrate my mom's and nephew's birthdays after visiting the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It was easy for us to reserve a table earlier in the day and we were seated right away. Our waitress Nicole was so sweet to my 4yr old nephew and he had a great time. We ended the day at the zoo in the rain and it had gotten chilly, so the bangers and mash was the perfect meal to warm up with and end the day. It was absolutely delicious and a great portion! Enough if you're hungry but also enough for leftovers if you prefer that! My sister got the recommended carnitas and it was definitely a big portion. The flavors were amazing, the presentation was on point and the carnitas was fall-off-the-bone tender! The vibe inside was really cool, like an old mountain or back east pub. From historical pictures to the furniture, it was welcoming and unique! You can roll in from the zoo or golf course and have a yard of beer with some pals, or get dressed up and have a nice dinner! It really blends great for any occasion. They also had a sign that they have live piano music every night at 7 and a song a long at 9! The most fun part was that everyone gets a bee sticker! Your server has embroidered bee stickers that they toss on everyone's shirt and for birthdays they are birthday bees! It was so unique and fun! It was a quiet place when I went for lunch around 3pm on a Friday & walking distance from the Broadmoor so ver convenient. This place is an experience of its own! I was here for a convention (as I think most people are when they eat here), and it's almost like a right of passage to visit The Golden Bee. The first thing they do is throw a bee at you! Don't worry, it's just a sticker but it screams tradition. Now I did start off by saying I was here for a conference, so it was crowded on a Thursday around 1pm. The bar was packed, there was a wait, and it did take a while to place your food order and get the food. The fish and chips were delicious, and everyone seemed happy with their meal, especially what I call the repeat offenders! Lovely gastropub setup, with fine drinks and a very tasty menu. Service was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Food was all tasty -- not life-changing, but quite good. The cocktail menu was fun and, trying the ones that actually had honey, very drinkable (the honey mule was particularly good). The place is loud, but not oppressively so. Even with a piano player belting out greatest hits of the 70s, I could still hold a conversation with my table mate. The only disappointment of the evening was that they did not have any of the printed pint glasses for sale; the etched ones, at $52, were a bit steep. The ambiance of this place is second to none. With the backdrop of the Colorado mountains, you find this pub that was literally built in London and moved here by boat piece by piece. The food was good but not what I expected for such an amazing setting. I would have given the food at least a four star. What made me give the three star was the service. The lack of knowledge and understanding of the menu was glaring. Our drinks were never refilled and getting the check took forever. We went to the Golden Bee while staying at the Broadmoor in November. This is a lovely restaurant. I have neard they actually had this pub shipped from England and built ut panel, by panel here. The restaurant was very welcoming. Our waitperson , Tristan, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the selections. My husband had a black and tan that was done very well, and fish and chips. I had an IPA and a pot pie. Both were delicious. The fries with the fish and chips were very meaty and delicious as well. For a resort restaurant, the prices were very reasonable. The service started out poorly when the reservation front desk host greeted us, told us we could eat there but they would need the table in 2 hours for other guests. The host then had to take our drink order. Literally twenty minutes after apologizing 2x times for the delay. Cause the. Attendee was backed up, our drink came. The soups were ok. The cracker plate with cheese was ok. We asked for another cheese ramekin and the server said sure. Then proceeded to take our bread plates. She brought back new cheese, but we had to ask for new bread plates, since she had taken them. Then she noisily rearranged the entire cracker mix at the table. Seriously, could you have just taken it away and then restocked it, and brought out fresh crackers when you brought back the cheese We ordered salads. It looked old. The dressings were bland. The.hardboiled egg was rubbery and the croutons were mushy. Oh my. What a mess. For such a nice location, they need to 86 the golden bee and start over with a quality menu, refreshed restaurant and servers that know that the heck they are doing. Absolutely fantastic experience for locals and visitors! Located near downtown Colorado Springs, the Golden Bee is just off of 1 Lake Ave which is a majestic drive in itself. The rather long street is lined with gorgeous homes with perfectly manicured lawns and the snow capped mountains as their backdrop. If that's not enough to see, the streets have lampposts that add the feeling of being in a different space and time. The Golden Bee is nestled in trees and gives the appearance of a tavern. When you step inside you're greeted with a warm smile and salutations. Reservations were made but I'm unsure if they are required. Seated at our table, our server immediately "threw" a...golden bee at our shirts! She proceeded to tell us a little history about the place and the bee being a reminder of our visit. I initially jumped and we got a laugh about that. It was a long day so we both ordered the French onion soup. The broth...amazing. The onions...not overpowering and little after taste. I could taste the freshness in the cheese and it was thickly layered. There was live entertainment with sing-alongs that just set the place in a good mood overall. They had several large parties of people that night so it was packed with singing voices and laughter. This will be a return visit on every trip back.
