We stopped in at The Aviator while staying at Hotel Polaris. It is a beautiful rooftop restaurant looking out at the Air Force Academy and stunning hills. The patio is beautiful with rattan swing chairs and plenty of table seating. We sat at the bar. I feel terrible I can't remember the bartenders name, however, she was excellent, very attentive. We were indecisive on drinks so our bartender gave us a couple of samples. They have some cocktails such as margaritas and mules on tap. I've never heard of that so we tried a couple of on tap drinks however we preferred the bartender made cocktails instead. On tap was very sweet. We only ordered drinks so I cannot comment on the food, however, our drinks were very good. I am particular about how martinis are served and she made a perfect martini, icy cold and to the rim. We enjoyed The Aviator and will stop in again next time we are in town.

Amazing views. Amazing food. I love this place sooo much. We sat at the bar and had great service and then headed to the outside area where the bartender still came and asked how things were. It was an amazing experience!

We looked forward to our first dinner at the Aviator. We've toured the restaurant and love the atmosphere and the view is amazing. It overlooks the Air Force Academy with Eagle Peak in the background and Blodgett just south. Overlooking is Pikes Peak with just the top portion. We ordered 4 cocktails: 3 brown sugar old fashioneds, and 1 Kentucky cocktail. The old fashioneds definitely has the brown sugar flavor. The Kentucky is a bit sweeter but not overly so. I enjoyed it immensely. We all ordered sushi. My husband and I both got the Waygu beef, one friend got the ahi roll, and the other an unknown. There were no complaints, only praises. We also enjoyed the rice pudding. Not only gf but also df. It was topped with coconut and nuts. Our biggest complaint was service time. 20 minutes before our drinks were served and 25 for the sushi. Our waiter even gave us a 10% discount on our food because of the delay. The service was very friendly, I'm not aware aware of the cause of the delay.

    Outside seating is available.

It was a lovely ambiance area especially on the top floor and plenty of outdoor seating. I think best enjoyed after work it would definitely depend on weather. Adjacent to the Air Force Academy and located inside the Hotel Polaris. Very upscale. Loved the atmosphere our server did her best to keep all drinks full and plenty of help. Also helped us with our group pic. Some in our group were hoping for more meal options but I think this is more of a small bites venue and fantastic drinks and beverages. I would definitely go again. The 4 stars was for the mix up with the reservation.

The Aviator is such an awesome spot for Colorado Springs. My favorite part is the warm lighting and elegant decor! All of the employees are really friendly, my server was Luke & he was amazing! He provided us with wonderful drink and food recommendations. We got the pork belly bowls & they were delicious. The highlight was my drink, I got the apollo and it was very tasty. Overall, such a great experience and I will be back when I'm down in the Springs.

Gorgeous views. We ordered the heirloom tomato salad, two rolls, and Bao buns (kalbi beef and pork belly) and rice pudding for dessert. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. Service was fast and lovely!

Incredibly slow with bringing drinks, food is ok, but too high priced for everything.

You can pay $15 for the hour of pinball and other classic games like the original super Mario, and then there's also games you can play for a dollar per token in the second room, which opens up to the beautiful patio! The man there today named Tim was so so kind and let the kids play at will, and me and my friend enjoyed a beer while they ran around. It was a perfect Wednesday afternoon trip and we will totally be back! Today was more of a kid focused event, but my hubby and I are huge on whiskey and the selection here was insane so we will definitely be back for a date night! I asked the gentleman and he said they don't do live music there, but man what a lovely patio if they did! I checked out the menu and it was mostly bar snacks and nobody in our group was hungry so that will definitely have to be something we try next time also! Very clean bathrooms, overall very clean facility and super super friendly service:) 10000% can't wait to go back!

The fried cheese is very different from your other standard cheeses or mozzarella sticks. The cheese is much more firm with a light fry. The cup of bacon is fatty, salty, with a tiny bit of sweetness. The ricotta gnocchi bolognese has some amazing fresh gnocchi. The bolognese sauce was okay so it's a fine dish but I probably wouldn't get it again. The duck poutine has delicious fresh fries that end up crisp topped with tons of cheese and gravy. Not a lot of duck, but a great poutine overall. Every item is always a treat and unique and makes me want to try the whole menu.

I went solo and decided to sit at the bar where they had three bartenders that would rotate with all the customers making it very efficient and great coverage. The food was very inventive; not your typical fare even for a bistro. I started with the lobster tater tots that were served with ranch. He had the perfect amount of seafood flavor and a super crispy outer; I would recommend. Next, I had the ginger pork and crispy rice dish. This had a large helping of pork that did well with the Asian flavors and that crispy rice for texture; I would recommend. My final was the miso butterscotch tart. You can't go wrong with a dessert that has butterscotch, Biscoff, marshmallow and miso. The only criticism I could make was that the tart was pretty loose, but that did not take away from the flavor. To drink this place has lots of beer taps, a good selection of wine and plenty of interesting cocktails. I chose to have a couple beers and they were both very tasty. I would like to come back with additional people so that we could try more of the menu items. Unfortunately, it is an hour away from where I live, but the next time I find myself down in the springs, I will return.

If you're sitting at the bar you can see the window where your food comes up -- our salad and fries both sat there about ten minutes before anyone brought them the ten feet over to us. Not a huge deal, but it's a little cruddy sitting there thinking "I'm pretty sure that's ours" and waiting. The ambiance is very dark, with a lot of stairs up and down -- you head into sort of a basement-type area. Everything I saw was clean and nice. It's a cool, funky spot to take a date or hit for happy hour, so the vibe and ambiance are definitely spot on for that. Signature cocktails -- all fine. Not the best thing ever, but solid. I'd have them again. Side salad -- good. The ranch is made in house and very flavorful, and the salad was actually loaded with veggies. French fries with garlic aioli -- a bit of a letdown. We didn't even finish them. They came out okay, just a little dry, and the aioli itself wasn't very good -- we didn't really like it. Pro tip: The entrées looked pricey, which is why we stuck to snacking at the bar -- and after the fries came out, we were fine calling it there and eating elsewhere. Overall, would recommend for happy hour, and would return.

Fortunately, unlike what many of those reviews claimed, the service was exceptional. We came in very casual clothing (nothing even remotely fancy) and were not treated any different than those who came in suits. In fact, the service was so good I can confidentially say this may have been the best service I have ever had in a restaurant. Every employee, even those outside of our server, were very willing to help even if just overhearing one of us mention a problem. Our server, Josh, was so good at anticipating exactly what we needed and had great reccomendations to improve our experience, and was very respectful. The food was lovely as well, I ordered the ribeye and it was very tender (cut through like butter), flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My drink was a mocktail mule, a reccomendation from our server, and it was GREAT. For dessert I got a strawberry mousse and it was so delicious I found myself using my fork to scrape out every last bit of it from the cup. The prices here are quite high: for a bill of 4 drinks (malbec wine and mocktail mule), 2 appetizers (popovers and fried goat cheese- a great combo), 2 steaks (ribeye and filet mignon), and 2 desserts (Yuzu black sesame cake and strawberry mousse), ended up as a bill of about $250 before tip, but it was definitely worth it. This isnt the kind of place id say you go every week, more of a place for a special occasion, so the prices feel a bit more rational, and the atmosphere definitely makes it clear this place is fancy.

The atmosphere is upscale but still warm and comfortable. We decided to sit in the bar area rather than wait for a table in the main dining room, and I'm glad we did. Joel was our server and he was fantastic. He gave us excellent recommendations for both food and wine and was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Having a great server can really elevate a dining experience, and Joel was exceptional. We started with the Hamachi Crudo (4/5) and Shrimp Cocktail (5/5). Next was the Local Greens salad 5/5, which completely blew me away. The goat cheese, fresh herbs, and dressing were perfectly balanced--so much flavor for what sounds like such a simple salad. For our entrée, we shared the bone-in ribeye 5/5, which was more than enough for two and cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere, excellent food, and outstanding service. Cowboy Star is officially my new favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs!
