I initially contacted New Leaf because we had a raccoon living under our house (as evidenced by…read morevideo our motion camera recorded) in the crawlspace. We chose them because of their humane way of dealing with wildlife, which was my main concern. The awesomely-super-cool Cory came out to check on our raccoon and found she was a mom with at least one baby. She had clearly been living under our house for a while, as there were multiple nests and tons of damage. Cory gave me all my options on how he can remove her and her family, while also educating me on the ways of mama raccoons. (I was amazed to learn they are very clean animals making multiple nests as needed to maintain a clean environment for themselves and their babies.) Obviously I wanted the most humane and safe way to get rid of mama and her babies. I shared all the info Cory gave me with my husband that evening and we decided how we'd proceed. However, we didn't need to have Cory remove her, because mama raccoon took it upon herself to leave our house that night, and took her baby with her. (Clearly having Cory and my heads poke down below the entry door shining a flashlight at her in the middle of the afternoon kinda spooked her - she got the hell out and took her kit with her as soon as night fell!) Once mama raccoon and family were gone, we had the awesomely-super-cool-amazing Cory come out to assess the damage - the DAMAGE was almost $3,000! Yikes! But not to fear, our awesomely cool homeowners insurance company took care of all but $450.00 - yay! On Friday, June 16th, 2017 - the day of the repairs: Oh my gaaawd! I can not say enough about these guys! 4 (maybe 5?) guys (including the awesomely cool Cory) showed up at 9:30am and went right to work. They protected every inch of my home where they needed access: entry, hallway, master bedroom, master bathroom, master closet - ALL protected against anything icky they needed to pull out of there. They were all nice, polite and considerate. They did a great job - A GREAT JOB! We now have a completely clean, repaired, non-stinky, lovely smelling crawlspace thanks to the awesomely-super-cool team of Cory, John, Tyler, Cameron. (I think these were their names, but I might be wrong - my apologies if I forgot or misheard names - I tried to remember...) Every single person I spoke to and/or met at New Leaf was the definition of professional, well educated in their field, and overall awesomely-cool. I had been wrestling with repeated, long-term respiratory illnesses. We initially thought we only had one mold spot in our crawl space from a prior bathroom leak wetting our insulation. We suspected that mold may have been contributing to my health issues. Feeling quite ill, and after researching several companies, I spotted New Leaf's owner, Jordan, on a web site ad. I was impressed that he provided his number to contact. I had remembered New Leaf from our relatives, but thought we were outside their service area. Desperate to find a trustworthy company and a solution fast, I called Jordan's number. I explained our situation and his compassionate, caring response convinced me that he was a godsend. I cannot say enough good things about New Leaf. Every experience we've had with them has been above and beyond expectation. When their crew came out to remove our 30-year-old manufactured home insulation, and found it was much, much thicker than they normally encounter and the job couldn't be completed that day, their crew went out of their way to finish the job for us on a day that was not their normal work day, just because they cared about our situation. Jordan worked with us, with great patience, to problem-solve other issues we were having with our home. My health challenges necessitated me staying with friends for several weeks. New Leaf's work made it possible for me to safely move back into a cleaned and sanitized home. New Leaf's prices are completely reasonable and their service is excellent. Our…read morehouse was so full of ants that we would find them on rugs, on ceilings, even in our bed at night. They were everywhere. We had Campbell out a couple of time, but it got worse instead of better. Then they sent Darryl, and he earned our eternal gratitude. He found ant trails we didn't even point out, or know we had, and figured out where they were going to and coming from. He went into rooms that we hadn't reported a problem in (with permission, of course...) and showed us where additional ant activity was. Then he baited incredibly carefully, to ensure our cats would not be at risk of exposure to the bait. (Our cats loved Darryl too!) He even followed up with a text a few days later, saying he was thinking about our job, and he wanted to know if the situation had improved! Who does that?! It had improved, by 85 - 90%, but we still saw ants. So he returned and spent an equal amount of time and patience identifying their sources. Within less than 24hrs they were able to come out and get it taken care of for us. Tyler was an exceptional technician and really went above and beyond. He went onto the roof to check our second story eaves for nests we could possibly not see and lo and behold he found 2 which he also removed. Then he went to town on our sugar ant problem spots in the rocky border around our walking paths as it has been a hot spot of activity lately. All on one of the hottest days of the year. If I had a business, I would consider myself really lucky to have such an employee. He went under the house, found evidence of a new rodent incursion and then covered the whole property to mend the holes in mesh that covered crawlspace vents, set traps and then came to explain what was going on under my floors. He showed me pictures of both the problem areas and areas that appeared secure under my house. We then walked the house perimeter to show where the critters likely got in there during the recent snowstorm. I'm confident in the accuracy of his assessment. He'll be back in a week to check on the traps. I have needed a new vapor barrier down there so I will be getting a bid for that as well. All in all, the pricing was fair and the service exceptional. I can't say enough good things about Ryan. I brought him in while dealing with what turned into a…read morevery complex situation involving both termites and powder post beetles. It quickly became overwhelming and stressful, and even worse, it was clearly endemic. Ryan genuinely cares about the work he's doing and the people he's helping. He took the time to thoroughly inspect everything multiple times, approached the problem from a homeowner's perspective, and consistently put my best interests first without me having to ask. What really impressed me was how far above and beyond he went. This was not a simple issue that could be addressed in a single visit. It involved opening up walls, tearing out drywall, and investigating deep into the foundation of my home. Throughout all of it, Ryan stayed engaged, thoughtful, and proactive. His depth of experience is obvious, especially when dealing with less common or more severe cases like powder post beetles. It is rare to find someone who is both this attentive and this genuinely invested in doing right by their client. After getting tired of playing an endless game of "whac-a-mole", we decided to give this place a shot to professionally get rid of the ants once and for all. After our first treatment, I'm happy to report that this place is amazing and I highly, highly, highly recommend them! When I first met Ryan, he said, and I quote, "I'm undefeated when it comes to ants." He was 100% right. We haven't seen a single ant after the first visit. This company replaced the vapor barrier under our house, sealed up 3 rodent entry points, restrung…read morea few areas of insulation and sanitized the area. This work took one day and two men to complete the job. I realize now that the job was horribly overpriced. The total amount was $ 7,323.75. for one day's work and minimal supplies. At the time I felt I had no choice, and in retrospect I should have got other bids, but time was of the essence because all our duct work had already been removed by another company, and we had no heat. When the vapor barrier had been replaced, the other company returned and installed all new ductwork. The total cost for that company for two days' work involving the removal of all the old ductwork and replacing it with all new ductwork was $3334.00 less than what Orkin charged just to replace the vapor barrier which is basically just a big sheet of plastic. The Man who did the initial inspection, said that he would return after the work was done and inspect what was done. He never returned for that follow up. He also told us that if we paid the total amount within 90 days there would be a reduction in the total price. The bill that we received has no indication of any reduction. As far as I know the actual installation of the vapor barrier was done adequately, however the sealing of three rodent entry points outside the house with concrete was very sloppy and in one of those locations they got concrete on one of our sprinkler heads. They also left concrete handprints on our BBQ grill cover. I wrote a letter of complaint to the manager of the Vancouver Branch. After a couple of weeks he finally called me. He said they would give me $200 for the damage to the sprinkler, but that never happened. I will never deal with company again
