The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider.

When JB insulation removed the insulation under our home they never mentioned to us they knocked…read moredown and crushed our laundry ductwork. We discovered this later. When JB insulation replaced the vapor barrier under our house they did a poor job and left joists uncovered and ground exposed. When asked to come and correct their work to code, they poorly laid a second layer of vapor barrier and still did not properly cover the joists. So now we have to remove the doubled up areas to prevent mold from growing between the layers of plastic.
