Edgar and Juan from Better Air Northwest were absolutely awesome at the job they completed for us! We needed a custom solution to cool down a small closet and have a duct under our house fixed. Better Air Northwest sent out an estimator (Eric) for free. He was really nice, helpful, and figured out how to solve our issue for a reasonable price! We received the estimate per email a couple days later and unlike other companies, no pressure was put on us to approve the job right away - instead we were given as long as we needed to discuss and ponder. As soon as we approved the estimate, we were contacted so we could get on the schedule. Somehow Edgar and Juan asked and also answered all the questions at the very beginning and we were able to do other things while they did these 2 jobs like the true professionals they are. They started by taping everything in the room with the closet, and it kept everything so clean! (Although they did clean up after - and left the place tidier than it started haha - not even kidding they cleaned our doormat I forgot to clean prior to their arrival!) This is a bit overdue, but on July 30th Jeremy and Vlad came out to service our house for a full HVAC and ventilation cleaning. They were great with their communication to let us know they were running a bit late and when they arrived they got straight to work. I gave them a quick tour to see where everything was and they knew exactly what to do. Every step of the way they were showing us the importance of the cleaning and how much it'll benefit our house. I recently used Better Air Northwest for a full cleaning of the HVAC ducts in my 5200 square foot home which hadn't been professionally cleaned in over three years. I was impressed by the process from start to finish and the noticeable difference in air quality afterward. The scheduling process was easy and transparent. I called on a Tuesday, and they were able to fit me within two weeks. The office staff clearly explained the pricing structure (which was fixed based on the size of the house, with optional add-ons like dryer vent cleaning) and sent a confirmation text the day before. The technicians, Andreas & Cody, called me 50 minutes before arrival, right arrived pretty close to the promised time. I knew there was construction down the street so I figured they would be delayed due to stopped traffic. The two arrived in a well-marked truck and was immediately professional. They took time to explain the negative pressure vacuum system they use, which involved hooking up a large hose to the main duct trunk near the furnace. They wore boot covers inside the house, which I appreciated. The cleaning itself involved systematically sealing off all registers and then using powerful air whips into each vent to agitate and loosen all the debris. They showed me the incredible amount of dirt, dust, and junk they removed from the main trunk--it was genuinely shocking and visually compelling. When finished with the vents they took on the dryer. The lint cleaned out of the vent and the filter was surprising. I expect the drying cycles will be quicker with a clean system. The entire process took approximately 5 hours. Once finished, they sealed up the access holes they created cleanly. There were only two rooms where they forgot to move furniture back in place. The immediate difference was significant: the air in the house feels fresher and less "stuffy," and the HVAC system runs noticeably quieter. I am confident that the removal of years of dust and allergens will benefit our household, especially during allergy season. Scheduling was easy, the quoted price was what I was charged (plus a small add on percentage for using my credit card rather than paying by check or in cash) with no upselling, and communication was great from start to finish. Third time using Better Air Northwest though the circumstance was a bit different. Our home had flooded in the Portland January storms. Since the vents were not covered during the restoration process, there was a lot of cruft in the vents (e.g. sawdust, tape, drywall, even insulation). I wasn't sure if Better Air NW could handle the post-construction obstructions. I didn't need to have any doubts since they managed to clear out all of the post-restoration cruft. Not only do the vents all look noticeably cleaner with photos as well, Jason and Isaiah realized that our plumber's box had 2-inches of water and that the coils had frozen at some point (the thermostat was set anywhere between 69-72 in the past 6 months). We had not quite moved back in, so I had not realized this had occurred. I thankfully already have somebody coming in to check that the furnace/AC are working properly tomorrow, but thanks to Jason and Isaiah, I was able to turn off those specific breakers to let the coils thaw, which will speed up the process. My wife and I just had Better Air NW out to our new-to-us 114yr old craftsman home to clean the ducting and vents before we move in. We were doing some work on the home for a few days before the cleaning and the house had that old house odor, which was expected, but my lungs and breathing were becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
