I contacted Pest Patrol for an issue with squirrels getting into our attic space. They have been top-notch every step of the way. The staff answered the phone and got me scheduled right away. The inspection crew that came out was very thorough identifying places where the squirrels were entering. They kept me informed every step of the way and took photos of the problem areas. Sebastian is a great employee and did his work quickly, efficiently and competently as he rooted around in my crawlspace for evidence of rodents. If I had a business, I would consider myself really lucky to have such an employee. He went under the house, found evidence of a new rodent incursion and then covered the whole property to mend the holes in mesh that covered crawlspace vents, set traps and then came to explain what was going on under my floors. He showed me pictures of both the problem areas and areas that appeared secure under my house. We then walked the house perimeter to show where the critters likely got in there during the recent snowstorm. I'm confident in the accuracy of his assessment. He'll be back in a week to check on the traps. I have needed a new vapor barrier down there so I will be getting a bid for that as well. All in all, the pricing was fair and the service exceptional. After seeing more squirrel activity and noticing a small hole, we requested Pest Patrol to do an assessment. Sebastian came out and informed us the hole is too small for squirrels (but we should patch up) and said everything else looked good. I reached out to Pest Patrol due to rodent activity in my crawl space and garage, and what started out as a good experience ended on a very dismal note. Diego did an inspection of my crawl space and explained what they do to seal entry points and remove/replace my existing vapor barrier, etc. Some of the things written in the proposal I received from the owner Gabe were either not consistent with what Diego had described or did not make sense to me, and so I wanted to call Gabe for clarification. Given the cost of the work (~$3,000), I wanted to make sure this was something they had experience doing. I also wanted to understand what the likelihood of having future rodent issues would be. When I spoke with Gabe, I explained to him that I wanted to make sure that the work to be performed would be consistent with what Diego had explained, as a lot of specifics were omitted from the proposal. We talked for quite a while, and by the end of the call, we agreed that he would revise the proposal to reflect the work to be done per Diego's explanations. The changes were expected to increase the cost by $200-$300. In the following two weeks, I texted him twice to inquire when he would be sending the revised proposal. His first response was "Hi! I should have something over to you today or tomorrow". His second response was "Hi! Let me look when I'm back in office tomorrow, I might not have pressed send on the updated one". Yet he never sent it. As a single female who has had some bad experiences with contractors when I hire them to build/fix costly things for which I have no knowledge, I've learned over time to do more research and try to have a better understanding of the work to be done. This helps me to set proper expectations and generally results in a higher overall satisfaction with the work performed. I guess that he did not like the questions I asked or the conversation we had and decided he did not want my business. Personally, I think this is a poor way for someone to run his business, and I did not like that he was not open and honest with me in his text messages, choosing instead to pretend that he would be following up with the proposal. After having a great experience with pest patrol, helping us with a bee nest a couple weeks previously, we decided to call them back out again to help us with our rat problem. Gabe (the owner) showed up and went into the attic, on the roof, all around the house, was very friendly with our kids, and then found a spot that I didn't even know existed where rats might be getting in and set up preventative barriers to keep them from accessing the house. Bait and switch? The initial inspection was thorough. The guy for the initial inspection was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining. However when it came time to do that actual work? WTH? A different guy shows up - I guess the regular technician guy. He is late. Then he is on his phone in the car when he arrives for like another 10 minutes. I go out and ask him what he is to do today and he is looking for a specific part of the house from the picture the first inspection guy took. I take him to that side of the house. He starts "foaming" cracks on one small section of the house - I thought is was supposed to be more but apparently not. This guy has a bit of broken english. Then gets ready to go into the attic. I ask about bait boxes because I have seen a rat in the back yard. He says he doesn't know anything about it. OK. I will go text the owner - because we talked about it. The owner replies immediately, yeap, supposed to leave bait boxes and he is supposed to look for areas where they may be coming into the house. I go out to show the guy the text and he is already driving off - !!!!!!!!!! WAIT....Your not done here. He did stop and we argued a bit about what I now KNOW he was supposed to do. The guy was very very late for another appointment and wanted to reschedule the rest of the service on Monday. OK I can handle that, but HAD I NOT KNOWN, the guy PROBABLY would NOT come back next week. We would have been charged for something the guy DID NOT DO. SERVICE WAS BAD. The guy was in the attic a whole 5 minutes. He is supposed to spray for "Carpenter Ants". I don't even think did what he was supposed to do up there. I don't think he put the foam stuff everywhere he was supposed to put it. Nothing in the alcove - which is adjacent to where the carpenter ants were. Where ever he did put the foam stuff was messy, so I know where he DID and DID NOT put the foam. SO, IF they guy to do the service, did not have time to properly do the service to begin with, then maybe he should have rescheduled!?! instead of giving half assed service and not completing the job (and arguing about it) when he is here. Bait and switch. They send the best guy to begin to get you to sign up with the service, then they do crappy service after. read more

He was able to schedule a tech to come out the next afternoon. We first called Pest Patrol when the annual Spring insurgence of ants was overtaking our dining room. Ants EVERYWHERE. The serviceman used a non-toxic (because we have little kids) ant repellent and the ants disappeared within 24 hours. It's been 8 months and we haven't had a single ant since. Because of our good experience, Pest Patrol was our first call after encountering "Mouse-ifer"-- the rodent straight from hell. We went on vacation, and while we were away the mice moved in! I just moved into a rental home and the smell was GOD awful. It turns out there was a large dead rat under the floor in my bedroom storage closet. The first pest control company that my property management hired, he just made the situation worse. He locked the squirrels and rats in and tried to convince us that the smell we were smelling wasn't from a dead animal. Then the FLESH FLIES CAME and they have been taking over the house. When Sam from Pest Patrol came by, he checked everything out, gave me the validation that I needed, put traps everywhere and did a very thorough inspection. But above all, he actually pulled up the boards in my storage closet and located the dead rat that we had been suffering from for weeks. He disposed of it and has subsequently been back to keep checking on the traps and take care of newly found entry points.
