I love Brook West Family Dentistry. I've had a really good experience here with Dr. Wang and my hygienist David. I like to go extra times each year so I go three times a year for cleaning and then for my regular checks with Dr. Wang. David is an excellent hygienist who is super thorough and gentle and always does an awesome job making my teeth look and feel great. Dr. Wang is an excellent dentist, very friendly; I've had to have one filling replaced with him (it cracked years ago, and he finally convinced me to replace it) and although it did get/stay a little sensitive for a while now it's perfect. He was really good checking in with me every time and giving me tips on how to help with the sensitivity issues. The front staff is usually very friendly and helpful as well. I've been going here for a few years and only had one incident that I can remember where maybe somebody was having a bad day (hey it happens to all of us!) :) all in all I definitely recommend going here for your dental care needs. read more

As a new patient of Dr.Gueringer and his staff "G" were sensitive about my past dental trauma and went the extra mile to insure I was comfortable and pain free. They treated me with the compassion I really needed on my visit. I don't do dentists hardly at all unless I really need help after some horrible treatment in the past but I know I'll be able to come back and have any other problems I have with my teeth taken care of without all the stress I've had in the past at other offices. Best experience ever with a dentist and I'm a senior citizen! I had a toothache overnight that just would not go away. I had never used Brook West and I needed an extraction on a neglected tooth. I called their office around 4 p.m., was at the reception desk at 4:10 p.m. and on my way home, happy and pain free at 4:50 p.m. State of the art check in, Friendly staff and Dentists who really know their craft made this the best dental experience of a lifetime for me. Clinic staff are nice with one glaring exception. Dr, David Domaas is by far the rudest individual who I have ever had a consultation with. I have had dozens of different operations and consultations in the past and never once have I been talked down to...Not once. David Domaas is the first he does not care about anything other than collecting a check. He insisted on X-rays that did not need to be done as he already had the up to date file and the up to date X-rays. This shows that Dr.Domaas is trying to get your money, your health and your teeth come last for him. It is unfortunate for such a great place to have such a rude and demanding dentist working there. I Highly recommend avoiding Dr.Domaas specifically. read more

The dentist is not a favorite place for most people to visit, but the staff at Brook West Dental make sure you are comfortable from the second you walk in, until you leave. The front desk staff is amazing, I was having issues with my insurance, and Colleen stepped right and made calls for me to get it handled. I was already stressed being there, and the calm, efficient way she took over was so soothing! Tracie the assistant was so friendly and sweet! They can do a same visit complete crown - they can make the crown on site while I wait instead of coming for two visits and getting a temporary crown. They are aware that some people don't like a lot of talking, and other people like a lot! They ask you what you like - you don't need to initiate the conversation. Wow! We just moved to the area and had to find a dentist for our family of 5. Based on reviews, we selected Brook West. Thank goodness! Fatima was fantastic with my young girls (5 and 2). As a parent I appreciated her approach to cleaning my children's teeth. Then Dr. Tu came in and he was great as well. He spoke to my children as people and made sure to include me in conversation about how long they should be brushing their teeth - we negotiated to 2 minutes with my 5 year old! My dentist, Dr Barsky and his assistant Traci made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Actually the front office people also made this a very pleasant experience. My appointment was on time. The treatment details and overall plan were thoroughly explained and I really felt like all my questions were answered. I just switched Dental Offices and just had my first cleaning. My hygienist Kelly was very pleasant, knowledgeable and professional! That was so refreshing! I really like that the room had a television on the ceiling (to make those who are a bit anxious) to help keep you relaxed. I then was introduced to Dr. Tu and he went over my results and explained everything nicely. I felt so comfortable with both Kelly and Dr. Tu. I went and really liked the experience... even though they said I had 5 cavities. That same day I was telling a friend about my great new dentist and she told me she'd been there too! They told her she had 3 cavities and then her insurance suddenly changed so she had to go somewhere else to get her fillings and GUESS WHAT... no cavities at the next dentist! What?! Like they disappeared?! hmmmmm... So she encouraged me to seek a 2nd opinion. I got 3. I went to 2 other places in Maple Grove and one in St Michael, brought my x-rays, had them do their own x-rays, got inspected by all three dentists and guess what they all said. I did not have 5 cavities... I had none and I was shocked! And so sad! Cause I LOVED Brookwest and tried to send all my friends there... they have TVs at each chair and gift bags and all kinds of fancy, nice things... well, now you know how they pay for it all! Ha! I mean, maybe some dentists have a difference of opinion as far as how aggressive they treat issues. If you like super aggressive then maybe Brookwest is for you! If you prefer a dentist who takes a watch and wait approach for questionable areas, fills what needs to be filled, and you know is someone you can TRUST, I'm sorry to say you should run away from Brookwest. I am NOT trying to be mean or bring them down... I'm sure you don't want to hear it, Brookwest, but my friend and I were really taken advantage of and lied to. If it randomly happened to both of us, there could surely be others. I value honesty. It makes me sad that other people might be sitting through needless discomfort and paying for services they don't actually need at all. I found a new dentist and have gone every 6 months... STILL no cavities, no pain, no problems whatsoever 2 years later. It's interesting. I mean, go ahead and enjoy their great service, but if they tell you that you need work done, get a 2nd opinion. If nothing else, I hope my review makes Brookwest think about how aggressively they fill things. I am not a dentist by any means, but if 3 others wouldn't fill what they would, that's a red flag in my book. read more
