I felt like I was in a small bistro on a side street in Paris. My only critique was that the cocktails were a little on the small side. That said they were really good. I came here with the wife for my birthday dinner, and I have to say, I really enjoyed dinner here. Loved the ambience. The décor was very trendy, and the vibe is very classy. Our waitress, Sandy, was awesome! She was very friendly and answered any questions that we had patiently. We started with the Brussel Sprouts which was mixed in a salad. I didn't think that it would taste as good as it did, but it was very good. For entrée, I had the MTK Scallops. It was so delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly. My only complaint was that the portion was a little small, but the waitress did warn me of that beforehand. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Pot De Crème. It was very creamy, but it was excellent. You may be aware that there has been a recent fresh Garlic shortage on eastern Long Island, the unfortunate result of all available supplies having been used on the Spaghetti & Lobster dish I ate Sunday evening at Almond. Nice setting, semi-trendy (though not really anymore). The server seemed great at 1st but the simple olive bowl I ordered when she took our drink order took 2 reminders and a full 25-30 minutes to arrive. Otherwise, service was fair to good. Apps came out quickly and mains correctly timed after. Salad apps were good, nice mix of light ranch (on the side if you're smart) and fresh leaf & veg. My wife's main course she loved, scallops from the regular menu. I had the aforementioned spaghetti & lobster. The excessive use of garlic & oil on this dish is amateurish at best. The lobster itself lacked flavor or was overwhelmed by the garlic. Otherwise, it was tasty enough (I mean, who doesn't like garlic?) and edible but I certainly wouldn't order it again. Excessive garlic use like this is really the domain of family style Italian restaurants, not a semi-chic Hamptons mainstay. We enjoyed our dinner last night here at Almond, on an abnormally warm low season Winter Sunday evening at Bridgehampton. The atmosphere was very inviting. Very french bistro feeling with a New American cuisine menu, subway tiles mashed up with vibrant wall papers. Low warm lighting. Service was good, welcoming and friendly. The food was good, perfectly seasoned and elegantly presented. I can see why this place is well reviewed on Yelp. Their pre fix menu looks like an excellent deal. $32 for 3 course meal. However, we decided to skip it as it since we wanted try out some more items from the Raw Bar. We ordered the 1/2 dozen oyster, scallop and fennel crudo and shared the Short Rib entree. Hubby later on added cheese fries because I believe he got alcohol happy.... The oysters were fine, and the crudo was quite nice albeit a bit heavy on the oil with shaved fennel. The short rib was interesting*. I let my husband decide on the shared entree, so I didn't look much at the menu*. The kitchen was kind enough to divide up the dish into two separate plates for us. It was a nicely flavored tender beef... Hmmm... The protein was sitting on top of pumpkin grits, a dark sauce with chives and dried onions. It hits all the hallmarks of delicious comfort food. By the way, for a restaurant of this price point, I was surprised that there was no bread and butter to start with. I do have one more praise as I wrap up this review. They gave me the best Campari and soda I have had in a while. It is a grossly simplistic drink, but it was served generously and with a nice touch. Instead of a boring slice of orange, the bartender actually did the orange peel and gave it a twist. The citrus oil elevated my spirits as I sipped away. Would I come back? Yes*. I'm also very interested in coming back for the bar! (They also have a special every day of the week) *p.s. I had to edit the review heavily because of a big confusion from my part. Over the top expensive but the food the folks in my group enjoyed was delicious. I ordered the "Special" Striped Bass but it was inedible. I believe it was spoiled. Let me lead with saying that after a 4 hour drive from NJ, my food at Almond barely made it into pictures - the food was that good, and I was that hungry! Our waitress did a great explanation of the very diverse menu; there is everything from seafood to steak, fries to mussels, and even ramen. Almond's menu can literally be fancy dining or a causal bite depending on what you choose on the menu. I am a scallop lover and BAY-BAY, these scallops were PERFECT with just enough sear! The greens had a collards/mustards/kale-ish taste to them, but definitely a good super green! Who doesn't like a steak with truffle butter? Especially when it comes with fries? Almond was the perfect opener to our 2022 Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons! The owner reminded me that am still a city girl when he complimented me on my big hoop earrings . Went back because a friend requested it. Even worse than before, I mean how do you ruin a steak? My shoes are more tender than the piece of meat they served. A steak knife would barely cut it. Smothered in sweet onions, a faux French thing I guess. 2 dinners, 3 appetizers, 2 glasses of wine: $165 + tip. Absolutely deafening noise level. To call the experience miserable would be charitable. This place was just okay. The prices were definitely higher than they should be for the quality of food they offer. My gf had an Italian style dish, Berkshire Pork, and it wasn't anything special. I had the Korean Style Short Ribs which were actually pretty good. The Beer was way overpriced at $18 and $5 for a Pepsi is ridiculous. Anyways, we're glad we tried it. read more

Love, love, love Almond! Went with a group for brunch on a recent Sunday and everything we had was outstanding... I had a smoked salmon Benedict that was incredibly flavorful. Others in my group had the waffles- which I tasted and they were awesome (buttery and buttermilkly) and the huevos rancheros- also great! The small biscuits with flavored butter are yummy, and a really nice touch. We also all greatly enjoyed the espresso drinks, and a few people had bloody Mary's- which were top notch. Almond has the perfect setting and lovely French decor on a busy corner in Bridgehampton. Plus the owner was very friendly and came over to say hello to us. The place has a wonderful, friendly vibe. While visiting The Hamptons my partner and I had a Friday night date night here and it was an excellent choice! Very casual with a pub-like feel but notches above normal pub fare. We ordered a petite raw seafood plateau and it was piled with everything from clams, oysters, shrimp, an octopus salad and I think a scallop ceviche dish? It was plentiful and puts to shame what we've received at upscale places back home. We even double-checked to make sure this was the petite one, LoL! I ordered the escargot which had a fennel "crouton" topper. I was expecting more of a pow from the Pernod and fennel, but they were good nonetheless. Then I had a huge entree of moules and frites and being the fat ass I am I was greedy and ordered a side of macaroni and cheese. There must have been 3 dozen mussels in my pot. My partner had the scallops dish which he enjoyed. And they have a "fat farmer very dirty martini" made with vodka made in nearby Sagaponack and them babies go down smooth and delicious! Awesome wait staff from host to waitress to I believe was the GM or maybe owner? Very attentive without being disruptive or hovering. I'd like to return to just hang out at the bar and drink all night and shoot the breeze with the locals. I imagine this place must be crazy during peak season as it was quite lively and filled on a chilly April weekend. read more

I've been eating here for years and they must have a new chef. I knew we were in trouble when we received our devilled eggs. It's pretty difficult to ruin a devilled egg, but these were rubbery, pastey and overly mustardy. Hummus platter was pretty awful as well. Next I had the Korean style short ribs.... Chewy and tough. Utterly inedible. My daughter got the skirt steak which was so overly salted that it was also inedible. The waitress took one of the meals off the bill, but what a tremendous disappointment. Went here with a couple of friends to grab dinner on a cold Friday night. The place was packed, but we were able to get a table after about a 30 minute wait. To start off, we got an order of the le grand macaroni and cheese. This dish was incredibly rich and flavorful and really hit the spot to open up the meal. For my main course I went with the Korean-style BBQ short rib and really did not know what to expect. We finally decided to try Almonds after many years. Well.... We should've continued to wait for Many more years! The food was horrible! I ordered the roasted chicken that was actually pre-fried partially! If you're a person who needs to stay away from fried food, don't order this. The chicken was tough as shoe- leather and had the flavor of an old dish rag. It was served on top of mashed potatoes that were like soup from the gravy they added to drowned out the flavor of the chicken . As soon as I saw it arrive at my table I was like, oh boy this doesn't look appetizing at all and it wasn't . I tried to eat some but it just kept getting worse as I chewed laboriously . I finally threw in the towel and gave up. The waitress saw that I was done and that I really didn't eat much . She asked me if I was finished and if I liked it. She then realized she shouldn't have asked that question because I was brutally honest . They bought us a round of drinks and removed the chicken from the bill. I said it wasn't necessary but they insisted . What really gets me and will not have me ever return to Almonds ever again is that as I was waiting for my wife to finish her burger, which was ok, I saw the same exact entree arrive at a table a few feet away. It looked totally different . The chicken looked well cooked , the mashed potatoes held form, and the side of broccolini looked vibrant green. Mine looked like swamp thing threw up on my plate! The more serious problem about this entire dining , overpriced dinner was that the chef ALLOWED this entree to leave his kitchen . Shame on him/ her. Two of the same entrees and night and day difference . How's that for quality control ? Do yourself a favor and save your money. Almonds has been around for a long time , maybe it's time to turn it into a shoe repair shop! read more

What a disappointment! Three threadbare dinners for $165.00 (NOT including tip)! #1 diner-steak was tough, almost too tough to eat, #2 diner-sea bass was overcooked and overall did not satiate. #3 diner-$40.00 for 5 scallops and 1 teeny tiny piece of bacon along with mushrooms that were so vinegary that the diner almost choked. One teeny-tiny loaf of bread with a somewhat large tub of unsalted butter...no salad...we all left hungry and vowing never to return... This place has run it's course....there are better places to dine than this disaster! read more

My wife and I went to your Almond to escape the chaos of local restaurants that have been slammed and over booked since reopening. We Love going East to the forks for dinner and drove an hour to get there. I just want to say that our meal and experience last night was outstanding! It poured when we got there but it cleared up and the sun eventually popped through only adding to the positive feel of being out. The food, drinks, and service was superb. There was one issue with one of our dishes but the that was completely rectified and expedited in a flash. Thank you for a great dining experience and nite out ! Eric and his crew at Almond did SUCH a wonderful job the other night (per usual!!) on a freezing/rainy night during COVID. I made a reservation for 6 and was excited to host some friends who were in from out of town (Florida). As our reservation time was approaching some members of the party were growing concerned with the dropping frigid temperature and were second guessing the choice to sit outdoors, so an hour or so before members of the party were thinking of indoor dining options elsewhere. I wanted to stick with Almond ( as I trust and know from experience how much emphasis they put on their customers' happiness) but I also didn't want to make a poor decision for the group in the rare case something went wrong, and then I started to think IS IT Nuts that I'm making the group sit outdoors on a freezing night?! Personally I was concerned about being indoors somewhere due to COVID. You could say this is an interesting time to go out to eat, and I can only imagine what a restaurant staff feels during these times. Well, all of the hesitation from all members of the group were put to rest immediately upon arriving to Almond. Thank you to Almond, again and always, for coming through.....thankfully, our night was the exact opposite of uncomfortable. Every single one of us were all SOOOO warm and cozy and happy!!!!!!! Even if we were outside, in freezing weather (35°), in the middle of COVID. The heat lamps were perfecttttt and I didn't think of the temperature at all (Eric was really paying close attention to the parties' experience), and we couldn't have been happier..... the food, service, night was excellent!!! All because Eric, Jason, Jack, Lauren and the entire team worked tirelessly and paid attention to every detail and made sure everything was perfect!!! Our friends had a blast, and they will be going to the Almond back home in Florida. Way to knock it out of the park!!!! Your dedication does not go unnoticed. And that is why I'll always tell my friends we gotta' go to Almond..... even in freezing temps, when it's just finished hailing outside, and the COVID fears are high, and I'm entertaining guests who are used to 75 degree temps..... Because I KNOW the team there only works harder, for their customers and pride in what they do, when things get tough..... and the entire crew will come through during those pivotal moments that make a difference in the experience.... so THANK YOU ALL!!!!!! Almonds? No thank you. Denied reservation for Proof of Vaccination. I've been here before and food was solid, but this was unexpected this all the way out here in the Hamptons. Remember, this is not a mandate out here but rather a company policy. I can appreciate owners trying to protect their customers, but after all we've learned and seen regarding the ineffectiveness of the vaccines protecting against contraction and spreading the virus, what are you actually doing? You can't claim you're following the science anymore. Even very slow to respond NYC has reflected and is relaxing these rules. Your restaurant was pretty empty and you turned away two embarrassed and disappointed customers. The hostess and manager were not very accommodative just claiming to follow company 'policy'. Time to revisit this and stop thinking like a confederacy of dunces. Don't think I'll be returning, even if Almonds is the only reservation in town. Luckily, it gave us a chance to try Bridgehampton Inn & Restaurant down the road. I've been coming to almond for years and was sad to see recent bad reviews. We went earlier this week and had a wonderful meal with two small kids and grandparents who can be more difficult in restaurants. Every menu item we ordered was delicious and inventive. They made pasta quickly for my kids and the appetizers and fish entrees were delicious and unique. This remains one of my favorite places to eat when in the hamptons read more
