"So mama please don't worry about me, I'm nearly famous now" (Cliff Richard) The avalanche of new breweries continues to pick up momentum across Connecticut, and today we paid a visit to one of the newer ones -Almost Famous in East Granby. Its spacious taproom has some interesting décor features, like its bar and tabletops made from salvaged bowling alley lanes and light fixtures made from old industrial piping and gears. When you walk in, you'll notice a sea of huge beer tanks, so you know this is a working brewery. Their made-on-site beer selection is pretty impressive, in both quantity and styles. I saw at lest nine choices with Sour, IPA, DIPA, Pilsner, Cream Stout, and NEIPA all represented today. I don't care for IPAs or Sours, so I had a glass of the Anything's Impossible, an American Pilsner with an IBU count of 31 and an ABV of  6.1. It had a bit of a stronger taste than I anticipated, so maybe I should have tried their Rewind, an American Amber? A food truck from the Taco Shack was on site today, and according to the Almost Famous website, they scheduled 17 food truck visits in April alone. That's pretty impressive, Almost Famous is a nice addition to the local brewery scene.

A very unique brewery. Any flavor of sour imaginable is there. If you're into sours, which I am. And the flavors are dead on. Very impressive with the taste and flavor. Any beer on the menu will deliver on taste and flavor. The Session is a can't lose. So much taste and flavor for a light Session. Cool and very friendly bartenders. Your new favorite people. Met the owner too the first time there!!! Great guy! The vibe is very welcoming and friendly. There is also an "anyone welcome" theme of live music- meaning if you have music to share right then and there, go right ahead!! Music themed places are a plus. There's cool local music based art on the wall, and the bar counter tops are made of old bowling ball lanes from nearby which is really cool!!! But look at the menu selection very creative and original.

The beer here isn't world class but they do have some solid offerings. About average on the ones we tried which were IPAs and Sours. The staff was attentive, the location is in an industrial complex but they've done a nice job of making the most of their space. It's clean, welcoming and a solid working brewery. Avoid the seltzers, not good. For a review of each beer, "Untapped" seemed pretty accurate in regards to our tastes. The food truck was Lobster Tails and it was delicious, quick and efficient. Overall not a bad way to spend a weekend afternoon.

I'm pretty sure this brewery is relatively new, but I wouldn't have gotten that impression walking in. There were definitely regulars there and it was by no means empty. Square Peg pizza truck was outside, which is a great local pizza truck, which means you also know they get the foot traffic to warrant coming there. The brewery is super family friendly. Large space, lots of games to play, including giant Jenga, Connect 4, pinball, and hula hoops. My only gripe is the beer that we had the day we went left something to be desired. It was by NO MEANS bad, but it also wasn't the best of the options local to me. The mango milkshake IPA, session IPA, and hefeweizen stood out for us as our favorites. They also have unflavored hard seltzer they add different flavored syrups to if that's your jam.

Ok so the owners are genuinely good dudes and love talking beer, shop, and food! We came for the make a pizza and sample beer night worth every penny. Not only was the flight preselection a nice hit, but it all paired pretty well with the pizza brought to us by Square Peg pizza of Glastonbury CT. If you haven't tried this place, then you're missing out. The really nailed the sour ipa and the Hefeweizen, they also have many choices for all palates, and if you aren't sure you can ask Koda she is the beer mascot and definitely has something to say about beer! I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed the half sour ipa, and I think you'll like it too! We will see you all real soon, now that we know you're here, and bringing your A game!!! Thanks for the great date night experience!!!

Craft brewing has come to East Granby! Officially opening next week but off to a great soft start! Up to 16 beers on tap, made locally! So many great varieties! Ironically my favorite was named "A Celebration of Mediocrity" which was a double IPA! This is a great place for an outing with a large group or company. They have 3 private rooms and plans for catering trucks! I can't wait for the patio to be opened this summer! This place is AWESOME

I've never really tried Italian style but enjoyed IPAs, stouts, pilsners etc. I made it a point to stop in and try the beers. Now this was a few years ago. When I had first stopped in their opening week I tried the beers and thought they were ok at best. However, I know that first openings cannot be a final judgement for breweries as things are getting dialed in and most places are using new setups to make the beer. So I waited about a month and went back and was blown out of the water by the difference in what I initially tried versus what they were making now, the beer was phenomenal and I have been going back since, stopping in when I can. The brewery itself, while on the smaller size is very cozy, clean and nicely decorated. They offer various areas including high tops, standard tables and couch areas ( as well as outdoor seating during warmer months) Every-time I have stopped in they have had a food truck offering available as well as a Chinese restaurant right next door. They also have snacks inside so they have a few options for food. All in all, it's a great place, awesome vibe and some really good brews. Definitely worth a stop in. (Also, they offer beers for veterans. I always make it a point to buy a veteran a beer when I stop in, and yes you can prepay for one)

Upon entering there are various types of seating from patio to indoor to private areas for parties. I really liked the QR code method to buy food made in house. I can say I was very impressed with my steak tacos! Such a perk at a brewery! When ordering a brew I was a bit disappointed I couldn't get a flight but they did offer smaller glasses to taste multiple brews. Icecream man is always a fan favorite and a classic so I opted for that. But my friend got their icecream man topped with a berry beer and she loved it! I'd love to come back and try their seltzers and other fun drinks!

Note to the owner: unless Greg's demeanor and attitude improve significantly, it would be in the company's best interest to remove him from customer-facing interactions. My husband and I visited this brewery for the first time around 4:30 PM. It was slow, and as experienced brewery-goers, we asked about flights so we could decide which beers we might want as full pours. We were helped by a woman with short blonde hair who was friendly, knowledgeable, and exactly what you want in a customer-facing role. She explained that while flights are not offered, she was happy to provide small samples to help us decide and assured us it was no problem. She also explained that half pours were available. She poured five small samples for us. My husband chose a half pour of Lil Lager and a half pour of Oktoberfest, and I ordered an Athletic NA. We also ordered pretzel bites, which we were told had to be rung in separately--unusual, but fine. Shortly after receiving our drinks, I noticed that all half pours were listed at a flat rate of $5, even though a full 16oz Lil Lager was only $4 and the 16oz Oktoberfest was $7. I mentioned this to the woman helping us, and she agreed it didn't make sense. She told us she would charge us $2 (a soda price) for the Lil Lager half pour, which we felt was fair and reasonable. This agreement was clearly communicated and understood. At this point, Greg abruptly inserted himself into the interaction, asking if we were done and demanding our card, despite the fact that we had just received our drinks and were still waiting for food. He had not been involved in our transaction at all. His interruption was unnecessary, uncomfortable, and disruptive, especially given that the woman assisting us was more than capable of handling everything. When Greg questioned her about our tab, she explained the pricing adjustment she had already agreed upon with us. Greg dismissed her explanation and overrode her decision. He rang us up and charged $5 for the half pour of Oktoberfest, $4 for the half pour of Lil Lager, and the full $5 for my Athletic--completely disregarding the agreement made with us and undermining his coworker in front of customers. His actions felt deceptive, disrespectful, and violating, not only toward us but toward his colleague as well. By this point, the entire experience had soured. When our food finally arrived, we just wanted to leave. As we passed Greg on our way out, he told us to "have a good night." I told him directly that he had handled our transaction incorrectly. He became immediately defensive and interrupted me repeatedly, insisting he had done us a favor by charging $4 instead of the $5 half-pour rate. This completely ignored the fact that we had already agreed--clearly and openly--with his coworker on different pricing, which he knowingly overrode. This was not about the money; it was about principle, respect, and basic customer service. When I told him the experience was awful and that I planned to leave a negative review, he told me to "go right ahead," raised his voice as we were leaving, and falsely accused us of having "20 tastes." This accusation was inappropriate, untrue, and hostile. Greg demonstrated a complete lack of customer service skills, poor judgment, and an inability to understand the basic goal of a brewery: allowing customers to experience the product so they want to purchase more of it. Instead, he dominated his colleague, alienated customers, kept inaccurate tallies, and made unwarranted assumptions. The entire interaction was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and frankly bizarre. If this establishment is going to hold small tastes against customers, then flights should be offered for purchase. As it stands, the environment felt unwelcoming and inhospitable. We will not be returning, and I will be sharing this experience with friends, family, and neighbors. This was, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences we've had at a brewery.

This place is HUGE and has so many different vibes all in one building, which I absolutely love. The drink selection is one of my favorite parts. They have so many beers on tap, plus cider flights, sour flights, beer flights -- all different types of flights if you're like me and enjoy trying a little bit of everything. And if beer isn't your thing, they have cocktails too, so everyone in your group can find something they like. The food is just as impressive. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls are AMAZING -- crispy, flavorful, and honestly one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The burgers are delicious, and the desserts? Oh my goodness. The deep-fried Oreos are next-level. Atmosphere is where Elicit really stands out. There's the big open beer hall feel inside, but also different sections depending on what kind of night you're looking for. It can be chill and casual earlier in the evening, then turn into more of a going-out/club vibe later on. There's a cocktail bar upstairs, and as the night goes on the energy really shifts. In the summer they have bands (sometimes outside), a full outdoor bar, a fireplace, two inside bars, a little quieter lounge area with couches, and even a small game room. Bathrooms upstairs and downstairs make it convenient, and you can rent rooms for private parties too. I also like how the food ordering works -- they give you a pager and you pick up your food when it's ready. Tables are first come, first serve though, so definitely save your spot because you can lose your seat if you're not careful, especially on busy nights. It does get packed on weekends, so I recommend getting there early if you want a good table for your group. But overall, it's one of my go-to spots in Manchester when I want good drinks, great food, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely a place I'll keep going back to -- and those Philly cheesesteak egg rolls will always bring me back.

So I was super excited when I saw they were hosting a galentines day drag brunch !! The drag show was amazing !!! But I was disappointed that there was no BRUNCH food . You can't have a brunch show and no brunch . They did offer a regular menu to order from . The other problem is that there were no servers so we had to order food and go downstairs pick up our own food and. Then bring it back upstairs... which is very annoying if you are going there for a show and have to leave to get food ! Not to mention there was an issue doors were suppose to open at 10 am so we got there early to get seats settle in and order food . However the doors open well after 10:30 . And possibly an issue with the bartenders ( not being available) but they were able to figure that out thankfully by the 11 am show . So a lot of issues .. the show itself was amazing . The food was okay . I did end up getting the grilled chicken sandwich which was good ( nothing amazing ) and the fries were plain no seasoning . 3/5 for the food . The drinks were good ! I ordered the strawberrry Hugo spritz that had elderflower in it which I really enjoyed all flavours were balanced equally (4/5 ) and then I tried the peach hard palmer which I was not a fan off (3/5 ) Drag show 10/10 ! ( highly recommend ) I wish they advertised it a just a drag show and not a brunch + show ( since there was no brunch options ) ! And also a very limited Valentine's Day cocktails ( only one option of a red velvet martini) Overall fun event but need to plan events better if they do plan on hosting and consider adding food specific for the event ( or not advertise as brunch .. if you don't plan on offering brunch food ) !
