    Grilled chicken sandwich
    Rona R.

So glad I stumbled onto this place on Yelp. I have been living 3 blocks away from here for over 10 years and have ALWAYS judged this place by its appearance - a very small, limited market, therefore, I've never stepped in here once. All of that changed when I saw they had decent reviews. I went based off of everyone's recommendation and had the grilled chicken sandwich. Since I was super hungry, I ordered a chicken gyro too...BEST DECISION EVEEERRRR! Unfortunately, they didn't have a menu, to take away or on the wall so other available menu items (and prices) are of mystery, which is a bit of a turn-off. Everything tasted great but as one Yelper mentioned, they do take a while. Even though I called ahead, it still took a minute because there was only one man who takes the orders and prepares the food, all while having to watch the front of his store and tend to additional customers. Still, the food was worth the wait. Everything had a nice taste and flavor, just note, if you request and sauces on the side, double check your bag before leaving because he forgot to include my sauces. Also, the chicken sandwich isn't your typical chicken sandwich on a roll or hero, its actually on a pita, still, that definitely did not hinder the taste (only the portion and it's ability to fill you up depending on how hungry you are =D ). I have added a picture of the grilled chicken sandwich for viewing so you have an idea of what your buying. The gyro was really good too! I actually preferred it to the grilled chicken sandwich. It seems more juicy and had more flavor, probably because of the bread that they use for it - it's not your typical thick pita that some gyros come on and it's softer than the pocket pita bread used for the chicken sandwich. When I came here, I ordered 5 sandwiches: - 3 grilled chickens - 2 chicken gyro's - 3 cans of soda This all came out to $30.50. I did ask the price of the sandwiches, although I should have. But I figured each sandwich must have cost somewhere between $5.00 - $6.00 and the soda may have been somewhere between $0.50 - $1.00. Also keep in mind that it's very difficult to find parking, so definitely try to bring someone with you who can wait in the car. West Side Ave is a very busy street, especially near this restaurant. Definitely give this place a try, your won't regret it. I will definitely be returning especially considering how good they are and they're super close. -Happy Eating

If you been rocking since 1919, mi amor, I **have** to come see what's going on. That alone made me wanna pull up And let me tell you... I walked from Jersey City Heights down to downtown -- not a bad walk at all, un chin de cardio before breakfast . Real "treat yourself, mi amor" type of morning. Soon as I walked in... BABYYYY I felt like I got teleported straight into a little Italian market Shelves full of Italian goodies -- pastas, oils, snacks... I was like *yo quiero todo esto* It was giving *ciao bella, benvenuti, mangia mangia* vibes all day. The staff? Súper nice. No attitude, no rush -- just good energy. I told them it was my first time and asked what they're known for, and they really put me on No gatekeeping over here. My husband got the #7 (on a roll) I got the #8 (on a bagel) We sat outside and did what married people do... switched sandwiches halfway Now listen... mine was good -- turkey, egg, pesto... she was cute, she had flavor, estaba bien ‍ BUT HIS?! Ese sándwich estaba otro nivel. I don't know if it was the roasted peppers or what but *Dios mío*... delicioso, chef's kiss Only thing? Next time I'm switching my bagel for a roll porque ese pan estaba hitting different. The roll? Soft, fresh, perfecto. Also... let me tell you about the BACK They got frozen pastas, little Napoli-style dishes, a whole meat section that looked crazy fresh, and you can order cold sandwiches too. Esto no es solo un deli -- it's a whole Italian experience, okurrr. And yes... it's a *little* pricey, no te voy a mentir. Pero honestly? You get what you pay for. Calidad, sabor, vibes -- todo está ahí. I skipped the coffee porque estoy tratando de behave con el budget but next time? And I'm coming back for that banana pudding porque I'm obsessed no shame. They got a little patio if you wanna sit, or you can take your food to the park and have a whole picnic moment. Real main character energy. Ponte linda, grab your sandwich, and just vibe out. Overall? 5 stars Good food, good vibes, buena gente. CARGIANO'S said "treat yourself" y yo dije... say less

Turkey on the other one was cut thinly and very fresh. Bread was outstanding, we'll be back next time we're in the area.

I was re-living my 90s video game memories by playing classics on the Super Nintendo emulator. Lot of classics, but super shout out to Donkey Kong Country 2, that I easily remembered after years. I was quite busy playing the video games that the food was secondary. However, I didn't hate a single bite of it. That's a good sign. Love reminiscing over childhood nostalgia playing video games!

I ordered a few 3 ft subs which were perfect for our large group. 3 Ft speciality subs are $80 and for an extra $10 they will cut the sub. They also charge a delivery fee of $25. They delivered right on time which was much appreciated. Everyone loved the sandwiches - we ordered a fully loaded Italian sub and a chicken cutlet sub. Overall this was a solid pick and I'm happy I placed a catering order here.

They have a huge variety of sandwiches on the menu, from classic combos to more creative, loaded options, so there's something for everyone. We ordered the chicken Caesar, the Hell Raiser, and the Jimmy Z, and each one brought something different to the table. The chicken cutlets were cooked perfectly and not greasy at all. You can taste how incredibly fresh the mozzarella was which really stood out, and the bread was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. What really impressed me was how generous the portions were. These sandwiches are packed! Super filling and worth the price (14$). You can tell they don't cut corners with quality or quantity. Only downside is parking can be a bit of a struggle in the area, so plan ahead. But once you take that first bite, you won't even care.

It was absolutely delicious, perfectly savory, and extremely generous portion size. $14 for a sandwich is arguably high but it does feel like a good value. When I ordered it again, I added a classic BLT for my partner so he could try some Mordi's too--and, unsurprisingly. It also tasted amazing! However, when we first opened the box, we were both extremely disappointed at the size of it. For a simple classic sandwich that costs the same as the slightly more complex chicken parm (give or take $1), both combined halves of his sandwich were the same size as just one half of my chicken parm. It was alarmingly small (and did leave us wanting more). Next time I got him the $19 ribeye cheesesteak which he said was also delicious--and just as large and generous as the chicken parm. Service is quick, the cashier was friendly, and the free dog treats at the counter are a nice touch. We haven't had a miss so far taste-wise--only hits! While we encourage you to be mindful that not all portion sizes are created equal, we still absolutely recommend checking out this Mordi's (Lafayette) if you haven't yet!

I ordered their Cold Sandwich #4 via Grubhub and I appreciate that their prices are the same as their website. The chicken cutlet is nicely seasoned and has a good thickness. It does get slightly overtaken by the mozzarella simply because of the size of it. The seeded semolina was soft, slightly chewy, but mostly fresh. I absolutely loved the chipotle mayo and cold crispness of the lettuce and fresh tomato that brightened each bite. I know this is a cold sandwich but I would honestly prefer it if the chicken cutlet and semolina bread was warm. They had other sandwiches that caught my eye, so I'll just have to go back soon.
