Daily specials are consistently good quality. The soup is like grandma made! The prices are reasonable for the size portions you get! Staff is friendly & accommodating. Early hours only, they close in the afternoon. A huge variety of (charmingly named for local streets) sandwiches on excellent Italian bread. They also offer delicious cannolis in 2 sizes. Plus they offer an array of Italian imports for purchase. A small parking lot is available in the midst of the big construction project. It's a quick turnover so there's always a few spots available. You can dine in the large space in comfort as well as take out.

This place is amazing. My office orders from here at least once a week now. Super friendly & professional people working there & on the phone. Prices are great for the quality & portions ( = Value) Full line of cold cuts \ deli meat and side orders. Packed Italian heroes, perfectly pressed panini, both using the best bread. Very good salads too. But check out the Specials! What Italian deli has creative items like this (AND for $16 or less!) --Flounder with fig & raisin stuffing in a mango habanaro sauce with veggies and a side. Great dish! Nice portion Just a tinge of heat balanced by all the sweet ingredients. --Sweet potato gnocchi (pasta) with shiitake mushrooms and a light sherry wine cream sauce. And if you think you know what an Italian Jersey "Sangwich" is..take a look at the picture. --The Broadway- Capicola, Prosciutto, Soppressata, Provolone, Roasted Red Peppers & Balsamic Vinaigrette ( Mama Mia!) And don't forget to grab a cannoli too for dessert! Ciao!

This place is a hidden gem! If you're looking for a delicious deli sandwich...this is the place to go to! Came here for lunch the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it! There's two places to order depending on what you want. There's a section for ordering sandwiches and then a section for ordering fresh Italian entrees. I had ordered a roast beef with fresh mozzarella sandwich on a roll. It was delicious! You can taste the freshness of all the ingredients in every bite. The roast beef and mozzarella are made fresh daily! They also have a variety on sandwiches on their menu with Jersey City based names. Definitely worth trying for my next visits!!!

I think I just found the Italian deli of my dreams and shoot me now, it's walking distance from my home. It's location makes it more amazing. It's at the tip of West Side Ave, a dead end street after Broadway, next to the PATH tracks. There it lays like a little piece of deli heaven. When you enter, the space is from a Soprano's episode. High ceilings, spacious areas to sit. Manager's office on the left. Pick up a menu and specials on the right hand area. Sandwiches and panini named after local streets. Choosing is the hardest part. On this cold morning, I wanted a hot sandwich but they didn't have bread. I ordered the medium Tonnele. Fresh ingredients, tender bread, cheese stinky (good thing), just enough mayo. It's worth more than $8. Service was great. I beg you to visit this place whenever you are in the area.

Today we were in the area wife want to go the hoboken To get s fresh roast beef and muzz with brown gray . I instead suggest to try out this number one sandwich shop I read about in the star ledger. I was so disappointed with the sandwiches and we took home there chicken in wine sauce with spiral pasta which was awful tasted like Jared sauce. Pasta was so bad no words to describe them . Just a real disappointment! The. Place was very clean and the staff was nice to deal with . But the bottom line food was not wroth a trip here !

I had very high expectations going in, but unfortunately, this experience was a major letdown. The food was just not good. The pasta was bland and needed extra salt and pepper. The arancini balls tasted like they had been frozen and lacked flavor. The steak and fries were tough, and the only noticeable flavor was a strong peppery taste. The restaurant itself is cute, and I do recommend making a reservation. The open/close concept is a nice touch and adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was also disappointing. Our server seemed confused, and another staff member had to step in when we mentioned the arancini. We were told they were supposed to be that way, but arancini should have a warm, cheesy pull -- not a frozen texture. I had high hopes because of Wing Bar, but this visit did not come close to that experience.

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

As others have noted it's a BYOB place with a convenient local wine-shop just a minute or two nearby. The menu changes regularly though we got many of the classics that have stayed on the menu (only missing the Angry Chicken which we'll get next time). The pastas were delicious though I wish the rigatoni was a bit saucier and really enjoyed the ravioli which had a lighter, mid-summer flavor with some pine-nuts for extra texture. The ricotta bread and honey was tasty though a large portion for two people and we felt that the standout was the halibut.
