THEY NICKEL AMD DIME THE HECK OUT OF YOU ON TOP OF RIDICULOUS PRICES!!! I stayed here because it was on the stay to play list for a cheer competition and would absolutely not stay here willingly. We were in a handicap room (no idea why) and the floors weren't concave enough to keep water from going everywhere. The door wasn't in a track and it kept slamming into the counter. The common areas were clean but the pool was not heated which I find strange as nighttime is cool in the desert. Additionally, there is no hut tub. Found odd but whatever. The breakfast was not free and yall should see the prices. $12 for a bacon, egg, cheese biscuit. 5$ for cereal. No sir, I am not paying that for breakfast unless I'm at a diner and it comes with sides. Staff were mostly friendly but the front desk was not kept supplied with extra anything. I stopped by several times and the desk always had to go find some and send it up. The bartender was friendly and helpful but they don't open until 530pm and the drink prices are outrageous. $15/day to park. Absolutely ridiculous rates and there was plenty of spaces left. It has fresh, modern interiors and rooms that feel newly refurbished. The overall vibe is similar to the Aloft in Tempe--stylish and contemporary. The location is very convenient for airport access, but the surrounding area isn't the most walkable. When I tried going for an afternoon walk, the nearby bus stop felt a bit uncomfortable, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend exploring the area on foot. Breakfast options at the hotel itself are quite limited, and there aren't many nearby spots either, so plan ahead if that's important to you. There's a small outdoor pool, which was surprisingly warmish even in winter, and a compact gym with treadmills, ellipticals, and enough equipment for a solid workout. On a 12 hour layover at PHX, I ubered here without a room. I asked if I booked one so they have availability at the time (around noon) to let me go in and sleep (going on 24 hours of no sleep from a prior canceled flight out of IAH) soooo graciously had a room and let me check in after I booked while standing there lol. Loved the hotel room and the way it is set up, stayed at an aloft in SMF that's when I fell in love with the brand. It was the middle of the hot say, AC worked and the room was blacked out! The only disturbance was when housekeeping was next door but the fact that they were loud means they were really cleaning! I didn't hear any planes. I would absolutely recommend, about a 5 minute ride from the airport. read more

A layover in Phoenix brought us to the Aloft Phoenix Airport hotel. TRANSPORTATION: The hotel's shuttle can pick you up at PHX, just call the hotel after landing. The shuttle can also take you to restaurants within a 3-mile radius of the hotel, but pickings were slim. The shuttle also drops off at PHX every half hour. LOCATION: They're super close to PHX, about a 5 minute drive. The short route also avoids major freeways & traffic. CHECK IN: Younger male agent wasn't welcoming, no smile, no greeting, and just asked for ID. LOBBY: Here you'll find their grab & go food area, non-regulation-sized pool table, lobby bar W XYZ, and the outdoor pool. ROOM: 7th floor room was spacious with a very comfy king bed and pillows to boot, desk work area, TV, and views of incoming aircraft. Oddly, noisy vehicles on the road were more obtrusive than the planes landing. BATHROOM: The shower had good water pressure, plenty of hot water and pleasantly-scented amenities. An abundant amount of open shelving and places to hang things were very convenient. AMENITIES: Free and strong Wi-Fi (just sign up for Marriott Bonvoy if not), safe, coffee machine, mini refrigerator and microwave. HOUSEKEEPING: The room was very clean. No complaints. DAILY FEE: None. RESTAURANTS: Choose from the grab & go "market" or a handful of options from lobby bar W XYZ. CHECK OUT: Friendly gal acknowledged me on the way out. I already like the chain of the aloft hotels. I love how each one has its own look and vibe! I came out last Saturday for my birthday. I was treated with the BEST customer service. The moment I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the front desk staff, I was always greeted thoroughly throughout my whole stay with the whole hotel staff collectively. I appreciated the acknowledgment of my birthday throughout my stay. I have to bring special attention to Bri and Nayeli. They were the absolute greatest. Everyone else was just as nice, but they definitely went out their way for me. I am definitely coming back and I'm staying at this hotel. The location is great. The service was great. When I go on yelp, I look for hotels with restaurants or bars so I don't have to find a restaurant to go to before my next adventure but this bar/restaurant is not open on the weekends!! it's Saturday! Booked this hotel for its location and bar. It's within a short walk of the 44th st sky train terminal station. Unfortunately the bar was not open since a staff member had called out. The front desk staff member suggested I search for another hotel close-by. I fount the Marriott up the road at a great price. They even offered to take me there on their airport shuttle. Don't judge a book by its cover! To be honest, I was less than excited to stay here and chose this place out of pure convenience (airport proximity and price). I was super surprised to be greeted by the most friendly front desk staff, to be served by a wonderfully accommodating bartender, and to partake in a nice draft local brew. First, note that housekeeping is only two days instead of one day. Second, even when the staff does clean, I don't think they do a good job. Not a nice place at all. Upon entry the smell of marijuana was slightly present. Upon entering the hall it was absolutely overpowering. The room was very small which wasn't a big deal as I was only overnight waiting for my early morning flight. The walls had stains and the room seemed only somewhat clean, the room was also very worn looking. The door to the bathroom was a sliding mirror, if you're looking for privacy in the bathroom, definitely don't be staying here, the water is only lukewarm. They have a shuttle, hours are 6am-10pm if you have an early morning flight as I dis the sky train is about a 3-5 minute walk and that is quick, easy and free to the airport. Next time I will pay the extra money and stay at Crowne Plaza next door. read more

Flying in or out of Phoenix, simply visiting the Phoenix metropolitan area, this place will definitely accommodate your visit in a retro yet modern contemporary style. The rooms are spacious, especially the double queen rooms. The king rooms are also perfect mix since we usually get 2 rooms, 1 for our kids and 1 for the wife and I. This location does not have a Jacuzzi, however, the pool is nice and the gym is ideal. (It has my favorite mix system setup. The lobby is cozy and the views of the mountains and high-rise surrounding building give it life. Parking is about standard for a hotel this size. Alicia at the front desk was extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating of our family. Kudos to her!!! Oh, I think having the ice pre-bagged for your guest is amazing. Hunting down ice machines that are sometimes like finding Waldo can be annoying at times so that solved that problem. Great place to stay near the Phoenix airport. Room was clean, price was fair and the staff was courteous. They run a free shuttle to and from the airport and there is a small bar & food area in the lobby. Would totally stay here again. So, not sure what happened in the last 4 months since my last stay here, but I no longer find this hotel to be a good deal. It's just not up to Marriott standards. We were dropped off to check in late Thanksgiving night. The first bad sign was that there were cars parked in every fire lane and on the sidewalk in front of the door. Check in was uneventful, but upon reaching our room, the toilet seat was dirty with a pretty large brown spot, and there was clearly mold in the shower. We also noticed several stains on the walls. We called and asked to be moved and they brought us keys to another room. The other room smelled musty. It was cleaner, but still had stains on the walls (the stain pictured is from the second room) and at least one outlet didn't work. We ended up calling to see about checking out early Friday morning (we were supposed to stay 4 nights) and thankfully the person we spoke to helped us with that. While checking out the next morning, we learned the police had been called to an incident overnight. In a town with so many hotels, you can do better than this even for $120 a night. read more

I liked the room. It was clean and had all the amenities that I like in a room. Large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash on the wall. I like this feature instead of the teeny little, hard to open bottles you get elsewhere that get wasted. There were plenty of plugs and USB's for my electronics. It's close to the airport - BONUS!. And there is a cool museum across the street! However, it is clearly not in the best neighborhood. While the Aloft's area was neat and tidy, there was trash all over outside the perimeter of the property. The Panera bread next door was pick up only ( no inside seating?? ). And the donut shop has to buzz you in. Not a good sign. The front desk folks were super and helpful and friendly. I would stay here again if I need to be close to the airport. read more

Between the meh service, the dated room and overall poor quality of the place this was a sad stop. The brand used to be pretty hip and new, but now the touches are old and tired. Something that could be totally balanced out if the staff had been more helpful and the cleaning staff more thorough. Had to stay here due to a cancelled flight at the Phoenix airport. It was close by, reasonably priced and was a Marriott. When I arrived, although late I did expect someone at the front desk. Waited about 5 minutes before someone came out to assist me. They should put a bell or something to avoid a customer from just waiting without knowing if someone was coming to help. Once I was helped, he was very pleasant and helpful and gave me options for my flight and signed me up for the free shuttle to the airport for the next day. Room was quite dim but clean although bed was not the most comfortable. Wasn't a fan of the open closet or open bathroom area. I was solo so didn't mind but if you are staying with others it may be an issue. Since I was only there for a few hours to sleep I wasn't complaining yet I probably wouldn't stay there again. Air conditioning unit is quite noisy and oddly placed under a countertop which blocks the outgoing air. Lots of USB and charging outlets since I needed to charge up being at the airport all night long. Lobby area is spacious, lots of seating, full bar and even a pool table although I didn't spend any time there other than checking in and waiting for my shuttle. read more

Good for a quick airport stay. Pros - room was clean and modern (lots of power outlets and USB ports), service was efficient, can't beat the location for airport stays. You don't even need the shuttle - you can just take the SkyTrain from the airport to the hotel. Both options are free. Cons - the hotel is located in a very sketchy neighborhood. I was followed by a homeless guy when I walked to the Circle K next door. Made me wish I'd packed my piece. I wouldn't recommend walking outside at night unless you're prepared. Also, the peephole is ridiculously high. I've never seen one that high up before. I'm 5'6", so I'm not a short girl, but I had to stand on tiptoe to use it. read more

However, everything fell apart in the morning when the shuttle driver failed to show up and we were left to scramble to the airport for an early morning flight. Decided to stay at this hotel on my long layover because of the proximity to Sky Harbor, figured laying in bed, watching tv and showering would be great! Checked in, got into room and no signal to TV. I get it, it happens, tried to call front desk, doesn't ring just a busy signal, go to front desk to let them know, looks at me like I'm a pain in the ass, says he can't leave front desk so security will have to go look. security guy goes to room, he was nice. looked at it, said I'll be back in a few, he comes back and says front desk guy said nothing can be done because there are no other rooms ( kinda hard to believe) but ok, the said I just have to deal with it or check out and go somewhere else!! LOL and to answer that thought, no I wasn't rude, didn't raise my voice, didn't throw any fit but just got horrible treatment!!!! Layout of rooms are wonky. Requested and verified double bed, was given king. Went back to front desk and they rectified situation. Bathroom door doesn't fully close. Water in sink backed up. But rooms were clean. Hot water was out from 10p to 5a, wth!! And they didn't tell us until after we checked in. We had a 6a flight so that meant cold showers. Great hotel near the Phoenix International airport. Uber ride to the hotel was about $12, and back to the airport I took advantage of the Hotel FREE shuttle. They offer complimentary coffee in the AM. Unfortunatelly no restaurants are located walking distance, but the hotel does have light bites and snacks for purchase. The hotel was clean, seemed pretty new and in great conditions. Its located about 10 mins from Scottsdale. read more

This horrible establishment deserves 0 stars!! I was visiting the area and decided to book here, Friday-Sunday. Unfortunately, my flight was delayed until Saturday morning. I called the hotel immediately to let them know I won't be checking in, but that I'll be there tomorrow and would like to keep my reservation. The gentleman I spoke to assured me, my reservation would be fine. On Saturday, I arrive to check in and they tell me my room was cancelled and I'd have to book another room. This is absolute insanity!!!! I already paid for 2 nights, 1 of which I didn't even get to use, and now they're wanting me to pay for another night!? Even though they confirmed I would keep my room!!! The people there are absolutely useless, they have no idea what they're doing. I've never met people so incompetent!! Additionally, the police were swarmed around the hotel when I got there, and there's homeless people doing drugs right by the parking lot. Please save your money, time, and energy! Do not come to this hotel. Very noisy at night as you can hear the planes flying by and all sorts of motor vehicles along the busy road by it. To top it all, we left the room to with specific instructions to the front desk lady that we want our room serviced while we're gone. She said she'll write it on " the board". We also made sure the " do not disturb" sign is not by the door knob. We returned tired and hot in the afternoon to find the room still unserviced! In other hotels, just leaving the door knob clear of the "do not disturb" sign is enough reason to clean your room!! Will never come back here. read more

First time staying at an Aloft property. I've seen them at numerous locations but just never stayed here. It's unique layout w-a see thru shower where u can pull the door shut which is good. Small size actual bathroom/sink area but I was here for a night for a concert so it was not a big deal. Comfortable bed and a hip small bar in the lobby. Just cannot Stand hearing music played or loudly speaking cleaning staff early in the morning! Pet peeve! I had a 5 hour drive home and didn't want to be woken up by these employees.
