Stayed in the Corner King Suite and the view alone was worth it. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in just the right amount of Phoenix glow. Waking up to that skyline was a vibe. Check-in was smooth. Everyone at the front desk was helpful and didn't feel like they were just going through the motions. The energy was calm, respectful, and professional. Bathroom note... the shower in our suite wasn't working properly. We didn't bother asking to get it fixed, just because the rest of the stay made up for it. But for a room at this level, that's something to watch. The members lounge? A gem. Quiet, clean, well-stocked. But the real star was the woman managing it. She was kind, attentive, and made everyone feel taken care of without hovering. Hospitality like that is rare. Our housekeeper was just as great... warm energy, remembered the little things, and made sure everything felt fresh each day. The Westin Phoenix Downtown has a way of feeling both elevated and personal. It's not flashy, but it's solid... and the staff carries the whole experience on their back. It's giving... The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. My room was great. Great bed. Desk, light, outlets. The AC is bad. The shower lacked hot water. Skylar at the desk is beneath the Westin standards in that I told them not to phone my room as I was going to bed after all the problems and what did she do? She phoned my room. Room 1732. Bed was very comfortable. Hallways were surprisingly quiet though the Greek folk dance festival was in town. Thermostat and heating and cooling worked well. Two free waters per day. Shower was great with both overhead and hand sprayer. Only real issue was the refrigerator didn't work well. It never got cold though the lights worked and it supposedly had a quick cool. We didn't have to have it so I didn't report it until our second morning when I went by the front desk. They offered to send someone up to take a look but we were leaving in 4 hours. Upshot: if you need a fridge for baby formula, food, etc, check your fridge when you arrive. read more

Checked in on Monday, November 24th. I was upgraded to a king suite on the 15th floor -- a corner room with amazing views. The bed was incredible, and the gym is the best I've seen in a hotel in a long time. The staff is outstanding. Shout-out to Justin for upgrading me upon arrival. The valets are friendly and prompt. You can do better. The internet is darn difficult to get on‼‼. Next to impossible. The front desk needs to give location info on elevators and code access. It is a maze to find the elevators. The hotel is clean. The shower either scalds or freezes you. And the whole room key for access to room lights is not explained well. We have a drippy faucet. Also the thermostat has overrides. Difficult to set as desired. I know you all can do better. We have been to other 5 star hotels and have not had these issues. Raise your bar for customers. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of July. The hotel is clean, modern and has an upscale feel. There is heavy construction during on the road beside the hotel and the large building across the street which made enjoying the roof top pool difficult. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and offered little bottles of water during the hot weather. The gym is by far one of the nicest gyms I've seen. They have Peloton bikes, a water dispenser, towels, new equipment and the coolest thing, two massage guns for your sore muscles. The hotel has a restaurant, Jacy and Dakotas that has a beautiful outdoor patio with a fireplace and dessert themed decor. Don't forget to check out their happy hour from 3 to 6pm. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable. There is a mini fridge and a small coffee maker, no microwaves. The hotel is walking distance from a lot of restaurants and some like cal bars. I only saw valet parking, however, it doesn't mean there isn't a parking area nearby. Overall, great experience, friendly staff, great restaurant for food, and walking distance from a lot of eateries and bars. read more

I'd give it a ZERO if I could. At check in, asked if there was a microwave available on property to reheat some food. Agent stated they could send one up. After an hour of waiting called down to front desk to ask for an update on when the microwave would arrive. They were surprised it hadn't been sent up and put a rush on it. It arrived shortly after. While also on the phone I asked if there were any tricks to the a/c thermostat. Agent quickly stated that the a/c in my room was broken and they were already working on it. Which means I was checked into a room with a broken a/c unit and wasn't notified, they were probably hoping I wouldn't say anything. Agent stated to wait a few minutes for them to fix the issue. I ate dinner in the room, showered, gave them more than 2 hours as not to sound needy or rushed. Called down again and the agent stated they were still not able to fix the issue. It's now been over 3 hours in a 80 degree room. The agent then stayed to wait 10mins and she would call me back when she found her manager. I waited 30mins and no return call. Called down again and she wanted to give her another 10 mins. It's now been 4 hours, no communication, no sense of urgency to fix or correct the issue. I finally said I needed to go downstairs and wait because it was hot and I was sweating. I get downstairs and all of a sudden I have a key waiting for me. WHY DID IT TAKE 4 HOURS FOR YOU TO OFFER ME A NEW ROOM. No apologies, no compensation. Horrible experience!! read more

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at the Westin Phoenix Downtown. I paid in excess of $500 for a one-night reservation scheduled for December 19-20. Due to an unforeseen family bereavement, our travel plans were disrupted and I was unable to arrive until December 20. Upon arrival, I requested that my reservation be adjusted to December 20-21, as the room had not been occupied the previous night. The hotel declined to make any modification and advised that I would be required to pay the full rate for an additional night in order to stay. No accommodation or consideration was offered despite the circumstances and the fact that the property was not fully booked. In addition, prepaid charges for breakfast were not refunded. As a result, I chose not to stay at the Westin and instead secured accommodations at a nearby Hyatt property. That hotel provided a more convenient location adjacent to the convention center and demonstrated a markedly higher standard of customer service. As a longstanding Marriott Bonvoy member, this experience was particularly disappointing. I expect a reasonable degree of flexibility and professionalism from a brand that positions itself as premium and guest-focused, especially in the context of a family emergency. Charging a substantial amount while offering no willingness to assist does not align with those expectations. I would not recommend this property and will carefully reconsider future bookings with Westin, particularly at this location. read more

I stayed here one night, 3-17-23. I was in town for a concert. I had trouble finding the hotel. There was a lot of construction in the downtown area. There were cones everywhere and traffic was awful. The hotel had a fence around the area, I could not see the signs for the Westin. The fence blocked and obscured the building. The hotel was nice. The room was spacious and clean. The staff at the front desk was very nice. The only thing about the hotel was the valet. This was the only way to park your car. There is a valet fee. There was no self parking, parking lot. When I asked to get my car the first time, one of the valet staff came to assist me. There was about two parties in front of me and other two parties that came after me. We were all waiting for our cars. I've waited for at least 15-20 mins already. The two in front of me got their cars, but then the person after me got his car. I was still waiting. The valet was not very organized and the staffing for the valet is insufficient. When I came back to the hotel that night. The valet line of cars was outrageous. Traffic was blocked with cars and the valet front was filled up with cars. The staff was not parking the cars and it was overfilled. It was just bad. Overall, the hotel is nice, I had a good stay. They really need to improve on the valet. Parts of the street smelled like urine. Downtown used to be nice but not anymore thanks to the liberals. I also wouldn't recommend a room on the Van Buren side. It's so noisy. What a beautiful hotel! The lobby and patio space is clean and trendy. There is also an outdoor pool (small, but still a pool). Loved the rain shower and the lavender roller. It is pretty close to the convention center as well which brought me to Phoenix. There are also pelotons in the gym. My pain points: I had breakfast included in my stay-- but was charged. Apparently, you need to tell them at breakfast that you have an included breakfast. This was not communicated clearly. Was surprised when I saw my final bill. They offer a $25 credit a day, but did not clarify that room service was not eligible. Again, this could have been communicated clearer at check-in. Fox News was on the whole time in the common space and someone had hid the remote. Left a bad taste in my mouth as that is not my cup of tea. If you use the free weights, the free space in the gym is limited. I had to modify my workout. There are not enough folks working at the restaurant/coffee bar. They work hard, but there is such a demand that you should expect ~20 minutes for your morning coffee. We saw a few frustrated people leave without their orders. read more

Stayed here on a 3 day work trip. My room on the 16th floor was very spacious and relatively clean (I did catch dust on the furniture, and the carpet is old). Not much in the way of views - simply overlooking other high-rises in the downtown area, but that is to be expected given the location. Good water pressure in the bathroom, which is also pretty spacious. Really liked the lobby area, where I could hang out and wait up for the colleagues who also stayed at the same hotel. A convenient cafe to grab quick breakfast and coffee while rushing out the door. I did not check out the restaurant here because there were too many great restaurants close-by. The location brought both pros and cons with it. I was told that the Westin on North Central Ave is traditionally in a shady part of Phoenix. You could tell. Homeless people on the streets, locked elevators at the Westin, which you can only unlock with your room keys, and the general vibe outside the hotel. The pros include some pretty darn good Mexican restaurants (way better than any that I've been to in California), within walking distance of the Westin. No deal-breakers for me staying again at this hotel thus far, BUT, I'd also be cautious about the situation another reviewer had posted - finding used syringes in the room. I was pleased with my stay at The Westin. Upon checking in, I was given an upgrade. I wondered if that was something they said to everyone though because I came down later and hear them say that to someone else and my co-worker said she got the same line. The illusion of feeling special was nice though, ha. Aside from this though, the staff was really friendly. One morning they saw me walking back to the hotel with some coffees and they opened the door for me. Maybe that's small potatoes, but they didn't have to do that. The lobby smells like rich lotion, and the attached restaurant and bar are very nice--and they offer romantic outdoor seating. I was saddened that the restaurant was meat-heavy and lacked vegan and vegetarian options. This is likely my biggest critique. As for the room, it was great. It was spacious, with a large tv, a couch, a single armchair, a desk, and a large bathroom. I couldn't have been more thrilled about that. I would definitely be thrilled to stay here again. read more

Hotel was super busy downtown Phoenix location adjacent to rapid transit. There were certainly some characters that hovered around the valet drop off. It was over 110F so everyone was headed indoors. Outside restaurant or sitting area with misters wouldn't have been bad but too hot. Inside bar had a bunch of people standing around among seating but no staff was visible. Would have been a better experience if it wasn't so hot. Room was ok and applaud the valets running cars when it was so hot. read more

We spent one evening here since we're were in town for a soccer tournament. As you walk in, the front lobby is smaller than normal. It wasn't busy when we checked in and the staff was very accommodating. My husband didn't put my name on my reservation and he wasn't with us. They helped us get my name on it and made the check in process very easy. We stayed in the 18th floor. My boys were very impressed on how fast the elevator are. As you walk into the room, the ceilings are very tall and the room has floor the ceiling windows. The bed was VERY comfortable. I could have slept all day. The room was perfect for our family of three and definitely could have fit more. We loved the outdoor pool. It was the perfect depth for my 9 and 10 year old boys. The water felt warm and there are plenty of seatings. We also enjoyed their restaurant. We wish we were able to utilize the executive lounge and club but when we went downstairs to get our complimentary breakfast, it looked like we missed it. Definitely loved the luxury vibes and can't wait to come back for a longer stay. read more

I realize it's the time of COVID, but that doesn't really change many of the reasons why I find this only be an average or "OK" place to stay. From the very start, our check-in. We arrived mid-afternoon, around 3pm but when we came in... there was no one at the reception desk/check-in desk. It wouldn't be a big deal but we stood out there for 15 minutes waiting for someone. The bar/restaurant area was closed down and we were beginning to think the hotel was shut down as there is some construction going on. Finally someone came out from the office behind the reception desk. We came to find during our stay this was the norm. They would hide out in the room behind the reception desk and you would just have to wait for someone to eventually come out. I will say, all of the staff are VERY friendly. We had a room with two large beds and the room itself is very comfortable and accommodating. You need to have a key card in a slot by the door to activate the lights. Unfortunately, they didn't tell us this at check-in and we thought all the lights were broken. They gave us a high floor but the views are mostly of construction so it's not anything special. The first night in, we wanted to watch a movie from our laptop on the monitor in the room. We often bring our own cable to connect the two, but need the actual TV remote to operate, not the hotel remote. In any other hotel this isn't a problem and they bring it right to your room (need the actual TV remote to switch input sources so we can stream from our laptop directly onto the monitor). But when I called down, the person I spoke to had no idea what I was referring to; then told me the maintenance person was gone for the day but would have Security bring it up. Which they did... but what they brought up was just another hotel remote control. So, we gave up on that plan. The walls are ridiculously thin! First night in, some other guests on the same floor decided to have a party. We thought the hotel had a night club and our room was next to it! Called down to the front desk and they assured us there was no night club and sent security to have the other guests turn their music down (11:30pm) which they did. But each morning, we are awaken to either beeping from a truck backing up or the sound of housecleaning vacuum in another room. If you have come here for rest... you aren't likely to get it. If you just need a place to stay and you are doing business, maybe it's okay. There are several other hotels in the area and next time we will definitely choose one of the others. We picked this hotel because we are members of their program but it doesn't seem worth staying here just to get a few frequent flyer miles. read more

I had a glass of Meiomi pinot noir and my friend had a couple of old fashioneds. I am on the hunt for the best old fashioned in AZ and this one is close to the top. The bartenders really knew how to make them. Also loved the cherry they use vs some other bars. A few months ago my friend stayed at this hotel and I saw the room, it was a corner room, very spacey and huge bathroom with a nice tub and view. I would definitely stay here. This is a great hotel all around. Lobby is very inviting and modern. Staff very friendly at check in and throughout my stay. Hotel elevators require a key card to get to the rooms which adds a level of security for the guest rooms. Room was very clean, modern and spacious with lots of closet space, a large desk, bench area near the bed, big screen TV, lots of USB and regular outlets. Amenities also include a safe, coffee maker, and refrigerator. The bed is "heavenly" as they call it and it truly is heavenly so comfortable. The Westin even provides a vial of lavender oil to give you an extra touch of relaxation and sleep. The bathroom is so spacious, large sink counter space, large shower area and as a women who needs to do her makeup has great lighting. Love the raindrop shower head. They only have valet parking for about $35 night which is about the norm for most downtown hotels. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We decided to do a summer staycation at the Westin downtown for the weekend and booked one of the one bedroom executive suites. The summer rate was reasonable and the room was awesome: a bathroom with a large tub, bedroom with a king, and sitting room with a kitchen table and wet bar. All three rooms had floor to ceiling windows that looked out over the city. The room was clean and comfortable when we arrived! We already want to return, the view was awesome. For being downtown I didn't hear too much going on around us, we slept totally fine. Check in was a breeze. Valet is on the corner of van buren and central ave, plus the guys there are friendly and direct you right into the lobby. We ended up ordering room service for dinner during our stay. The menu isn't very large however there seems to be enough selection for everyone to find something they might enjoy. We went with a burger and a steak plus fries and they were solid for room service food. Prices were to be expected. The guys who delivered were super nice too. There is also a restaurant downstairs if you'd rather get out. It looked pretty cool. Our room also came with access to the club lounge which serves breakfast (7-10am weekend), evening hors d'oeuvres (5-7pm) and desserts (7-10pm). The rest of the day the lounge also has snacks, beverages, and access to a computer for business needs. We had mixed feelings over the lounge. I've been to similar ones at other properties that far exceeded the offerings here. Coffee, soda and water bottles were available at all times but only some nuts and a few pieces of fruit were out for normal snacking. The evening light bites were lackluster and not replenished.. there was no attended available for at least 20 min at a time so those who wanted to purchase drinks could not. Not a great move. What was available were shrimp spring rolls (only 2 remained left when we came in and more were never brought out), some cheese and salami, wilting and dry veggies and some stale popcorn. After seeing this spread we did not even try to see what dessert looked like. The lounge did redeem itself for breakfast. It was a standard hotel breakfast but a solid spread. Fruit, eggs, bacon and sausage, potatoes, bagels and pastries, juices, plus some small smoothie samples and plenty of butter, jams, toppings, etc for your selections. Overall we were glad we had breakfast and water bottles available but would never go out of our way to pay for access. We were just glad we happened to get it with our room. Overall we had a really nice stay! I would definitely return again when the rates are lower in the summer. read more

TL;DR at bottom. I haven't written a review of anything in years - the service I received at the Westin Phoenix is noteworthy enough to bring me out of my slumber. I'm travelling for business and staying at Downtown Westin for a grand total of 8 days. When you have such a long stay, the little touches that make it feel like home are invaluable, and appreciated. The cleaning crew is literally the best I've ever experienced; everything was restocked regularly, and the room was properly cleaned each day except for the one day I put up my DND sign. I actually came back to the room as one of the cleaning staff was finishing up, and she was very friendly and expedient to get me back in my room as soon as possible. Cedric and his female counterpart (whose name I didn't catch) at the front desk provided invaluable local knowledge for all of my needs from food, drinks, clothing, and nightlife. I took some of his suggestions and had some great meals and drinks in downtown Phoenix. Also, the man is just downright friendly, has great bedside manner, and laughed at my crappy jokes. Literally what more can you ask for. When staying for that long, the little touches that make you feel like you're at home are what make a stay for me. Nick, Lonnie and Robin (sp?) down at Providence (the bar/restaurant in the hotel) truly made me feel welcome with both excellent food and drink suggestions (Nick, that tequila drink you created is just *chef's kiss*.) All three of them are immaculate examples of how bartenders should be in my opinion; friendly but not overbearing, funny, professional, and downright incredible at mixing a cocktail. I cannot overstate how good these three (and the bar back fella whose name I as well didn't catch) are at doing what they do. Let's not forget Michael, who dispatches for ServiceNow (the folks you reach when dialing "0" here if front desk is unavailable.) Despite the fact that our interactions were strictly over the phone, he exudes an aura of helpfulness, professionalism, and was incredibly quick to help me with any of my requests. The only thing that could be considered even close to not excellent during my stay was having to move rooms due to a cracked hinge on the shower glass door and engineering (also a nice couple of fellas) agreeing that it was a safety hazard. They immediately helped me move to a similar room, and front desk made sure that I felt the interaction ended equitably. You can't ask for more than that. I have literally zero complaints, your hotel is amazing, and I thank you all for your hard work and attitude! TL;DR Food/drink: So good Service: Excellent Room: Palatial, well-stocked Phoenix: 115* so I don't honestly know outside of like three restaurants. Seriously, y'all live in this?! We booked here for 01-03 DEC 22 as we've stayed here many times for a yearly convention. This year we TRIED to check in at 5:30 but we were told that the previous guests had a late check-out and we would need to wait. I figured.. OK, it's a bit late but OK. The lady handling the details then told me that we would have to wait until at least 9:00pm to check-in or find another hotel. Basically.. people are still in your room, tough luck and if you don't like it, go find another hotel on a Friday night at 5:30. The shorter Latino "manager" came over and reiterated what she had said could see me letting my staff know that we have no room until at least 9:00pm (six of us total) so his way of compensating us was a $30 drink credit for each room... cool, one drink for the inconvenience since there are two of us per room. When I told him that we needed to change for a business dinner he told us that the bar/dining area has a restroom we can change in.. LOL!!! I asked him if he was serious and he said yes. I had to ask him if they had a hospitality room (which I know all Westins do) and he looked bothered that I actually asked for a "room" so we could all change. Initially he told us that nothing was available so that's when I got my phone out to call Westin corporate to ask them if this is how guests are treated and magically a hospitality room became available so we could change. Never once did he apologize or act sympathetic, just very matter-of-fact about it.. too bad, so sad. The next day we were greeted with a Snickers bar, a pack of M&M's and a cookie on our door. Really???? It's all good because I got bag of three snacks on my door? Never an apology.. just a "take it or leave it" attitude for finally getting a text at 9:20 on Friday that our room was ready. I understand that staff shortages are thing and it's hard to find good help but you really need to send that "manager" to some community college courses on hospitality if you're going to keep him at the front desk of a Westin. read more

Westin is definitely one of the better hotel choices when it comes to travel. I will do a pros and cons to make it much easier to feel my rating. Pros: -Employees are definitely friendly and helpful. -Rooms are very big and there's lots of space for luggage with a great city view. -The shower is definitely a "wow" factor and the bathroom is quite large - Location was prime. Was able to get to all my locations quick. Cons -The bed is not too great. The pillows are basically useless. Needs to be way more firm. - The parking situation sucks. It's basically wake up each morning and pay the meter or do Valet. Valet is $36 a day Overall, I had a good stay here but one big change I would suggest is definitely the bed. Not as comfortable as other hotels. Feels very old. read more

As Ambassador Elite in Marriott's Bonvoy program, we get suite upgrades, welcome gifts, 24 hour check-in:out, and no blackout dates for stays. On our first visit, they had wine and strawberries for our Anniversary delivered to the room, twice, lol. There was a mixup, and we spent the first night in a standard room, as the promised suite was sold that night due to the Billy Joel concert. I wasn't pleased, but the manager and three staff arrived by 10AM with apologies, and to move I us up to our suite for the second night. They also comped our room service breakfast, and gave us generous points, too. The suites are floor-to-ceiling windows, including 180 degree in bathrooms, with great views of the city and mountains. I always bring Lush bath bombs because the tubs are outstanding. The Club Level lounge is kind of meh, cheese and crackers, yogurt, etc. I did like the wine by the glass selections - for purchase - and the service was excellent. On our second visit, for the NY Yankees v Diamondbacks game, we were taken to the highest level suite, which was occupied. The bell person took our possessions and we went to Club Lounge for a snack. When I was called with new room # we were told a staff member would meet us with keys; we got to the room and the bell cart was there, unattended with all of our possessions. The front desk apologized, and sent a note and some snacks, but I was shocked at how nonchalantly our things were handled. There's a bar and grill on site with AOk food, but you are surrounded by great drinks and eats. A quick walk to Chase Field, and a quiet, upscale hotel to stay in downtown PHX. The gym is good for a hotel gym, and they even offer several staff guided runs, and you can rent workout gear. Do not stay at this hotel Service was horrible, the worst experience ever! They make you feel really uncomfortable, and if you are planning to eat there do not, I would've rather ate at McDonald's. Be careful to not even breathe the kitchen air because they will charge you $65 for that. Snobby people and managers. read more

Besides being unable to sleep and waking up during the middle of the night, the hotel is contemporary and modernly furnished! The bed sheets and pillows were fluffy and soft. I like how they gave a lavender balm oil for calming purposes. It was convenient for the restless nights in bed. The roll of the container wasn't rolling enough for the oil to come out enough, but it helped. The layout of my room, could have been better. One mirror was angled to the bathroom entrance and the other one had the reflection of the couch, which faced the bed instead of the window view. I wasn't comfortable with how the furnitures were placed and probably thought it was that, that gave me the uncomfortable feeling. I like the gym! I got my steps in and sweat on. Greetings from staff was great. I like how they put out complimentary water bottles during the hot heat wave. Definitely need it for hydrating purposes. The idea of going to the lobby whenever one is out of conditioners and clean towels, is a good idea for the environment. I'm for it. Besides the layout of the furnishings, great hotel. read more

We decided to stay local for NYE and got the room at a great rate. Although unnecessary, we stayed for two nights as a little getaway and we had an awesome time. The hotel is located within walking distance of several restaurants and attractions so we were able to park and walk around. We were bummed to find out the pool was outdoors but I'm sure that's great for warmer weather. The beds were super comfortable and the room was really nice. I'd definitely choose this hotel again for my next stay. My only complaint is that there was construction outside of our window that kept us up, but that's not the hotels fault. We were able to check out the lounge, they had water and other treats for guests with access. All-in-all, it was a great experience! read more

Extremely impressed with this place. It's a small hotel, simple, yet modern and luxurious. I've never had check in and check out be so simple and easy. We stayed on a weekend and it was about $175 for the night. Not terribly high priced. Some hotels are so highly priced and you leave not feeling satisfied with the several hundred dollars you spent for one night. This place had large rooms (event with the standard), beautiful views of DT Phoenix, large windows, extremely comfortable beds and comforters, well lit throughout, large room service menu, fantastic service, and just great overall vibe. The pool is a level or two above ground, high enough to catch a view. It's small but very nice and relaxing. There's a large menu where you can order drinks and food from the phone right next to it. I thought this was quite convenient and clever- the fact that you don't have to wait for a server to take your order and just relax and enjoy. We came in mid march 2018 and the weather was warm but a little breezy. What we were really impressed by was 2 things- 1. The location. 2. The $30 food and beverage credit towards the restaurant on site. Wow. I've never been to a hotel where they give you a credit towards food and beverage. It made us enjoy our stay more, we obviously spent more than the $30 credit we received and it was convenient. I will write another review regarding Province Urban Kitchen and Bar (their on site restaurant), but it was delightful to say the least. read more
