The Honalo Shell Food Mart is a small convenience store, located just down the road from the famous Teshima Restaurant. There is a few parking spaces in front of the store, as well as a few parking stalls to the side of the building. The Honalo convenience store features Shell gasoline, and I gotta tell you folks............for a store that serves gas in a remote area, the prices here are pretty good, as I saw a sign for $3.28 for regular gas. When I was returning my rental car, and filled up gas at a Tesoro gas station (near the Costco area), I actually paid a little less at $3.20 per gallon, but considering gas sold at an area where it's remote, the prices for the gas at the Honalo convenience store is not bad at all.

We went into the store to grab some waters and musubi and the staff was friendly and greeted us as well as wished us a great day after we made our purchases. It was early morning and they had a couple different choices of musubi flavors which surprised me. I pulled up to the pump, put my credit card in, pumped gas, and had gotten into my car to drive away when the attendant came running out to me. She said that I needed to pay for my gas. I told her I had, but followed her inside anyways. I asked her to double check that she was not charging me twice. She told me that "you don't get charged when you don't put your card in." I was taken aback, I couldn't believe that she insinuated that I tried to steal gas. Gas pumps usually don't give gas unless they've read a card. She made two more comments implying that I was a thief as we were making the transaction. I am livid. I will never stop at this gas station again, and I will be sure that the management knows that the attendant is out of line. She could have handled the situation in a polite manner by saying "I'm sorry, the machine did not read your card," rather than attacking my moral decency.
