3.5 score. Pretty good place, but busy for holiday crowd. Stopped before an outing at the Wadsworth…read moreCelestial. Decent service but overtasked due to the crowd, so drinks and meals were slow. I'm better at waiting for food or ordering the meal, but I do like drinks reordered or topped off when needed. Food was good (my New Year's resolution is to take pics). I had the beer battered cod (small cod portion and too much oily breading) and my wife had a Chicken Alfredo (she enjoyed it). Overall, if we are in the area we may return, but won't make this a destination. Again, nothing wrong here just slow and average meals.

Lots of different seating options, huge booths, intimate tables, cool bar area and looked like nice outdoor patio for warmer months. Our server was SO nice and attentive, offered suggestions of her favorites from the menu. The spirit of a drink I wanted was out of stock so she suggested great alternatives. Both of our sandwiches were good and flavorful, and fries well seasoned. Good portions. Would like to try more things in the future. This is the kind of place that feels homey, like your grandma is in the kitchen and your family is all sitting around talking. If you're expecting out of this world decor and fusion food, this is not the place for you. It's cozy comfort. Our only con was that the side pickles were not good (I prefer crisp they were pretty soggy). Would definitely come back with family!

My family and I have wanted to dine here for quite some time and finally made time today. I regret…read morethat we waited so long. It's a very old location (apparently there since the 1920's) nestled in the Portage Lakes area. Every employee there was super friendly and very professional. My group of three ate at the bar and the young lady who served us was very friendly. My stepdad and I ordered the crab stuffed grouper. This was a special and not a menu item. My stepdad commented that if it were a permanent menu item he'd go there once a week. It was 10 out of 10 good. The grouper was cooked perfectly and the crab stuffing was more crab than filler. I frequent Florida where fresh grouper is readily available, and this was the very best grouper dish I've ever had. It came with two sides and bread for less than $30. I'd have paid $50 and been happy. My mother ordered gnocchi with meatballs. Generous portion that resulted in her taking half home. She's very in tune with Italian food and absolutely loved it. They have daily and lunch specials, and incredibly accommodating staff, and absolutely great food. I will be returning sooner than later. If you want a great meal without the fine dining frills, I'd encourage you to give Rose Villa a try. They also make their own deserts and specialize in house made pies. I'm not a desert guy, but my other guests got a slice of pie to go and both raved about how good they were. 10/10 recommendation!
