It takes a lot to WOW me where a nail salon is concerned. I feel like they're all kinda the same. Well I've been meaning to write a review when they got us out of a "teenage prom nail drama" situation. After they helped me out again today I couldn't put it off any longer. Last month my daughter got her nails done a my (used to be) go-to nail place and they were horrible. Trying to find a nail place to re-do her nails the day before prom was set to be a nightmare. Well I called aloha, explained the situation and they said "come right in". 30 mins later her nails looked great. Fast forward to today I had a nail that broke. Aloha did my shellac nails 2 weeks ago and 1 broke. I came in just to have the 1 repaired and they didn't charge me because "they should last longer than 2 weeks and if only 1 broke something was wrong" really? WOW! I've never have a nail place warranty anything having to do with nails. They could have easily charged me $5 to fix it and I would have gladly paid it but nope, they fixed it free. I just went for a long overdue mani/pedi ! Been 5+ months. I felt totally safe with all the well thought out precautions they have in place. I use to really like coming to Aloha Nails, but lately it's gone a bit down hill. They over book themselves and they're always short staffed. You have to wait 15-20mins before your appointment, and when they get to you they rush through your service. It's not a great experience anymore for the prices they charge. read more

I have been going to Aloha Nails for a few months now and for the most part they have done satisfactory work, but this last time the Pedicurist was awful! She barely did any work on my right foot and leg, but did all the work on my left leg and not enough on the feet! All the while she was doing my pedi she was sucking back snot from her sinus's ! And to top it off it was painful- and after asking her to stop multiple times she ended up cutting my cuticles deep enough they bled! Found the perfect dark dark almost black color. Asked the manicurist to file my nails coffin shape and she did a great job. I can't wait to go back and try out all their great colors. I really have had better experiences here but this past Sunday changed things for me completely & I won't return. I made appointments for my daughter & I to get mani pedi's. She is only 9 so I asked for the children's mani/pedi. The guy doing her nails didn't even file her nails & just started to put her nail polish on UNTIL I asked him if he could file her nails a bit. What makes it a manicure if you don't even do that part? He left her nails messy & was way too rough. He poked underneath her nail which hurt her during the manicure but she didn't want to say anything because she is very shy. They overcharged us for it because the first time we came, it was much cheaper. Then came to me. I picked out my a toe color & finger nail color (two different colors) & showed the woman doing my pedicure. Someone else was working on my manicure. The woman doing the pedicure acknowledged that she saw the color but then when I was busy relaxing with my eyes closed, she put the wrong color on my toes! She used the one that I had picked out for my finger nails. I was trying to patient & I think I was kind enough to let it go & not have her restart. The worst & tackiest part about all of this is that when she rang me up & hit us with a $100 bill, she ASKED ME TO TIP MORE than the 20% on each I had already tipped - even with the color on my toes I didn't pick. Shame on me. I had already been generous & was so shocked that she would ask...especially after she made that mistake. She should have offered me a discount if anything at all. When I got into the car, I noticed the tips of my gel manicure were already chipped which means this isn't going to last very long as it normally should. So disappointing. The owner was there & watched it all happen....even the tip portion. She should have corrected things but just ignored it all. I have been a repeat customer but as some others have posted, there are only a couple of good manicurists there but the rest aren't good. I'm not taking chances with my time or money again. I love them so much! It's so clear that they care about the quality of their service and they really take the time necessary to make it worth your while. Each time I go in, I'm always super satisfied with how they do. My first time here was on my birthday and I asked for a french shellac, which they did a LOVELY job on and it lasted until I removed it myself. My second time, I got a full set of acrylics, which they did an awesome job on too. Mindy really went out of her way to make sure my full set was symmetrical and even, which I really appreciated. My third time, which was just a few minutes ago, was to get my acrylic set filled and redone with a new gel color. I admit I'm not much of a talker (I'm a very shy person) but the lovely lady who did my nails was very sweet and patient. Overall, I'm never let down, I'm always happy in the end. They don't rush, they know what they're doing, and they are so kind. I always leave a big tip because I appreciate them so much. Keep up the great work! read more

I have been a long time customer of Aloha Nails. I have noticed that since it has been under new ownership the pedicures have gone down hill. I have had 4 pedicures since being under the new ownership. The first one was so bad that I was given $10 off, second time and third time services I had chosen under the "fresh start pedicure" were forgotten and the last pedicure I left there and it had looked as if my feet had barely been scrubbed. Today was the icing on the cake for me today though when I was charged $30 for a polish change on my toes with gel. For $6 more I could've had a pedicure!!! My fault for not asking how much the polish change was going to be however, they also did not communicate it. I went in to get a pedicure and a dip powder manicure and the pedicure was good as per usual. However with the manicure, it was terrible. I don't know how great they are with doing gel manicure or putting on acrylics because that was my first time getting a manicure there but I do not recommend going to aloha nails in Livermore and getting the guy to do your nails. He was literally patting down the powder instead of letting them dry and filing them with the electric file, so the weren't smooth after he put on the glossy top coat and he didn't file down the sides of my nails so they were very sharp. He also only applied one coat to make it shiny and you should do 2 so literally that same night I was getting air bubbles on some of my nails when I touched them and the next day the top coat was already peeling. He was just too rushed because he had other people with appointments waiting. If they know that people who called in advance would be coming at a certain time and they're short staffed then they shouldn't be attending the people that walk in without appointments and give them shitty nails. I didn't have an appointment but I wouldn't have cared if they said they wouldn't be able to attend me, I understand, I know how busy a place can get. I was skeptical about this place the moment I walked in. I wanted to get my nails done for my birthday. I asked for a gel manicure, and it didn't seem like they understood what I was talking about. They charged $35 for it, but their website said that it was only $30. I just thought that it was better quality since they charged $5 extra and didn't think much about it. I chose a color and they cut my nails way too short, even though I told them not to, and the color of gel they applied to my nails, wasn't even close to the color that I picked out. The polish wasn't properly cured and it started chipping only 2 days after I got them done. I was really disappointed and the quality looked like regular, cheap nail polish, and not gel. Their service was fine, but the way they did my nails, didn't give me value to the $35 I spent. Many people wrote good reviews about their acrylics, but I'm not an acrylics person, so I can't completely say they sucked. The lady who did my nails was very friendly, but I don't recommend going here for a gel manicure. I went to get them redone a few weeks later since my family was going on vacation and all the polish was practically gone at this point. I went to TL nails right within the complex of Aloha Nails. The quality was AMAZING and it is still on, and hasn't even chipped a bit, for the same price of $35. Went on Hawaiian Holiday....Aloha Nails across from Nob Hill did a great job. The shop is clean and tidy. Lynn gave me my pedi and painted cute flags for the 4th of July. I love nail art and she did a good job with my request. Looking forward to fancy flowers next time. Cindy and Nancy the other manicurists were also friendly and we chatted. Additionally, I enjoyed that Lynn left the spa on while she worked on the other foot. Nice.... I was happy with the price. $18 for a regular pedi and $5 for the big toes flags. DO NOT GO TO ALOHA FOR AN EYEBROW WAX. I have been to this salon for many nail appointments, so when I decided to get my brows done before a big trip, I thought I would return here. My eyes are a little sensitive so I am used to having redness post wax. However, my eyelids and the skin above my eyebrows were severely burned. When I left the salon it hurt and looked rather red, but by the end of the evening it was clearly beyond typical sensitivity. My eye skin has begun peeling and the lines of my burns are so dark it cannot be fully covered by makeup. I am incredibly unhappy about this seeing it is on my face and I now must attend my trip looking horrible, but also being in an intense amount of pain. From washing my face, to applying my makeup, the area around my eyes hurts very much. Avoid this place for an eyebrow wax at all costs. I plan to contact the salon and let them know, in hopes this won't happen to anyone else. read more

Came here the other day very nice atmosphere, loved the atmosphere, loved the complimentary drinks. They had tons of colors to choose from which I liked. I really wish I could give this place a 5 for the service to match the atmosphere of the place however my service to my nails was not up to par. The polish was sloppy , the way my nails were cut was at a slant, I wasn't asked if I wanted a design and maybe it was a good thing. The massage was more leg than feet massage. Their prices were definitely on the more expensive side which I would not have mind had the service been superior. This place is ridiculous, the first time I went here was alright simple pedicure just to try the place out. I come in here at 10am they tell me come back in 30min I said okay no big deal. I come back they take other people ahead of me, finally set me up for a pedicure but get this they do nothing but have me waiting in the water for way over an hour the water is freezing and I'm ready to go. I would have left if I wasn't here with my boyfriend's little sister. This place is a joke I have never been so annoyed then as I'm taking my feet out the water the girl trys to touch me after helping a fungus foot with her bare hands, disgusting. I've been here about 6 times and leave pissed off every single time. The only reason I kept going back is because it is in the same shopping center as the place I go to get massages. After today, I'll never go back. As in almost every single other occasion that I've been to this nail place, the person doing my pedicure was scratching me with their long nails as they half heartedly "massaged" my legs and feet. I've never been properly massaged here. It's either way too hard that it hurts, or hardly anything at all. The man who did my pedicure today seemed to have no idea what he was doing.... I showed him on the list which pedicure I wanted (the $33 one, option A) and he kept trying to sell me the more expensive one (the $37 one, option C).... I asked him to file, NOT CUT my toenails, and since he ended up not listening to me and CUTTING my toenails anyway, he cut my damn big toe. He massaged my legs with SEA SALT which scratched and burned the entire time (WTF!?)... And burned me with a SUPER HOT stone. THEN..... Painted my toenails while they were still wet from the water and with whatever that liquid stuff is they squirt on before they paint your nails. There is nail polish all over the outside of my toenails as well. I wanted to just tell him to stop so I could just leave pretty much the entire time but was afraid they'd make me pay anyway so I stuck it out. Not one single part of this pedicure felt good. I feel like I pretty much just took $40 out of the ATM and flushed it down the toilet. What a WASTE OF MONEY!!! read more

BEWARE: I used to be a regular visitor at this place but now that they have changed ownership, the prices have gone up and the quality has gone downhill. I went in on Sunday 10/13 to have an acrylic fill and a basic pedi. My total was $71 excluding the tip. When I asked why it was that much, I was told it's because my nails were "coffin". They charged me $45 for a fill! I have NEVER paid that much for a fill, not even with nail art. And my nails are far from coffin. They are more of a tapered square, and I thought a fill includes shaping the nail with no added cost. Not to mention, my pedi was the worst I've ever had. The nail lady was too rough with me and it was painful. She ended up filing some of my skin off. My skin was also raw on my fingers from my acrylics being filed too rough. This place is horrible. TL nails is located in the same shopping center and they are MUCH better. I only paid $40 for a new set INCLUDING gel and a rhinestone accent. read more

I usually go to place close to my house, where the people are very friendly and I feel at home. My friend and I decided to meet downtown and get pedicures. It turned out that we decided to do this on the day of Granada's homecoming. She called them, and that said they could squeeze us in. Sure enough after a 5 minute wait, they seated us next to each other for pedicures. The staff is very friendly, and the pedicure menu is very cool. I appreciate that the massage chairs work, because that is something I look forward to in a pedicure. The polish lasted for over three weeks.
