First time going here. I went on a recommendation of a friend. I needed a gel pedicure badly and this place was perfect. Located in downtown Livermore right by First Street Alehouse. The ladies were very nice and did a great job. The place was nice and clean with a good amount of chairs for both pedicures and manicures. Terrible service!!! I asked for clear dip. See pic, nails were filed unevenly, this was due to the excessive filing! My nails were left weak and brittle! Gel color was applied, and tech opted to apply 8 coats!!!! And the filing saga continued,making my nails uneven, unnatural, and just awful! !! When I asked politely if shape can improve, tech insisted "she couldn't see an issue, nails were ok". I was in total shock & disbelief!!!! Nothing about my nails "are ok"!!!! This salon is very hit-or-miss for manicures. Sometimes the shape and thickness of my nails will be ok, other times they turn out poorly. But it's hard to justify spending $65 on a manicure that can turn out pretty horribly. My manicure today was my last straw. The nail tech seemed to be in a rush and chipped my natural nail twice with a drill. Didn't bother asking what shape I wanted, but I definitely didn't ask for bubbly, misshapen, and uneven nails. The only nail tech for your hands worth seeing is Karen (if I'm recalling her name correctly). She did my nails the time before and they were a beautiful, delicate gel set. read more

It was my first time here today and walking in i could tell it is a very clean space! We were greeted and told to check into the ipad, which also gives you the option to choose your preference for a manicurist which i thought was cool. We sat in the back by a large window which was nice to look out, and they let us have the tv remote to pick anything we wanted on youtube! The ladies were very sweet and funny, and the service was done with care the whole time. I got a pedicure and loved the parafin wax which ive never had before and comes with a massage. My gel nails have never lasted longer! The staff (in particular Wendy and Ha) are SO detailed when it comes to making your nails look perfect! I do wish there was more to the basic mani/pedi in terms of massage or scrub but other than that - it is definitely worth the money! I am from out of town and my sister treated our toes and hands to beautiful pedicures and manicures. I had Tommy and she had Selena. Both were kind, caring and excelled at their job. Tommy said he had only been working there for about a year; but he is SOOO good at it!! I had a friend (once upon a day ago) do the added painted strip with her French tip nails; so I did the same thing and made it teal. I love the look so much more than the added jewels (that tend to fall off) and they seem to last much longer as well. Also, I wanted to make mention. You can always tell a salon concerned about the well-being of their customers, versus the ones that don't. This one put individual baggies in the bowls for the pedicures. That really helps to keep down infections and diseases from spreading. Being from the medical field, THIS is very important to me. The prices were a smidge higher than other places; but to have the infection control way down, I believe that it was way worth it. So, ask for Tommy or Serena!! read more

I went to this salon today for the first time. Had to wait for awhile since there were only two ladies working today. Ha and Wendy. I didn't mind so much the wait since I had no vehicle to leave and come back. Car was at the shop. Once I did get started Ha was the lady who did my toes and nails. Worst experience here, which is surprising. When I lived in state this was my go to salon, I was in town over the weekend and was able to get in on Friday morning. We arrived a bit early and waited to go in until 930a. We stood around for a bit while everyone was getting set up, and finally someone directed us to check in on this device by the wax room. I checked in, and was sat within a couple of minutes. My technician was nice enough, tried to converse with me a bit. She took her time, and really focused on my cuticles which still have dead skin on them. My nails are unevenly painted, bumpy, there's thin layers of paint on some nails, my technician cut back my nails too far to the point where it hurts, and FOUR DAYS LATER they're peeling and chipping off! I called TODAY and asked for a refund, explained my situation, as I don't live in town and am unable to come back, not that I would, and I have my receipt. I gave all of my information to confirm that I had been seen there, and was refused. I spoke to whomever I spoke to for six minutes back and forth as she kept telling me "you need to understand" that I had to go back in to show them and get it fixed and no refunds over the phone. I ultimately said that I would need to call my bank to fight the charges for this? She remained quiet and when I said "hello?" She said, "I'm listening" and kept quiet even though I had nothing left to say, then was hung up on. Avoid. read more

I have been going to this shop off and on for a few years and have never written a review. I went today for a mani-pedi and was very pleased. I was actually the only one there besides the staff (1pm) and got lots of attention and the women did a great job. These guys are scammer they have such a poor custome service and they don't do what you ask them to do, they didn't tell me how much they going to charge me for my acrylic nails at first and then while they stated doing my nails the lady said $5 for certain shape and then i asked her to add glitter nail paint on my one nail she said $5 more for adding glitter. Then i asked her that can you give lil more shape to my thumb nail she threw the filer on my hand and she is like do it by yourself. read more

First time I went to Tips & Toes, Wendy gave me my pedicure and she really took her time to make it relaxing while making my feet look pretty. My pedicure was perfect and lasted 3 weeks. This last time, someone else did my pedicure. It again, was relaxing and felt good, but I had to point out some spots on my feet that needed dead skin removed. She obliged and went on to polishing. When I left my polish looked great, but after one day and a shower, it doesn't look so hot. (See pic). The polish layers can be seen. Strange and disappointing for the $42 plus tip I paid. This is the salon I go to most often in Livermore, and pretty much every time I get a good experience. I've never encountered a rude employee here and have always liked how my nails turned out. I came in today to get a fill for a set I had done at a different salon and the lady helping me did a really good job (wish I got her name!) While I have had an overall good experience, I can see how people are annoyed with wait times, prices, etc. I walked in at 2:30 w/o an appointment, and they took me in even when multiple people came in after me all with appointments at 3, so two of them had to wait on me (sorry!) they are also probably more expensive than other salons because of their location - downtown Livermore's rent isn't too cheap I recommend coming here only if you're not in a rush and don't mind spending a few extra dollars read more
