Got a deluxe plate w/ spicy bulgogi, salmon, and tuna. Spicy bulgogi was satisfying, salmon was good and fresh, but tuna had a weird taste.. maybe I just didn't like the sauce it typically comes in. Not pictured but halo halo was fun to try, and their ube cheesecake was AMAZING. Hint of ube was not overpowering and worked super well with the cheesecake. Service was good! I'm usually pretty hesitant to try new places, especially those that are Asian in anyway due to seafood and shellfish aversions. This place has been open about a year or two now and our son picked this place out for dinner. We were a little worried about paying nearly $20 per plate on a take out order, but we figured if it didn't work out, then we knew. When we went in to pick up the order, we decided to stay in and eat. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Nothing was giving me bad vibes. Since me and my husband orders the create a combo our meals came with drinks, our sons didn't, so we went to buy him a matcha smoothie, which he really enjoyed. We got our order and we couldn't be more surprised! The boxes were full and the food was delicious. We all decided we were definitely coming back. Our Katsu was crispy and delicious, the bulgogi was tender, fried rice was not greasy, hubby loved his yams, I loved the grilled pineapple. Wow, what a restaurant and atmosphere. Their macaroni salad was absolutely amazing. I don't know what it is about. Hawaiian macaroni salad but it definitely is better than most. I had to spicy and teriyaki chicken, macaroni salad and their Hawaiian rice. Add a little Sriracha sauce Combine with the seasonings. The food is highly recommended if you like Hawaiian food. The server and the chef even came out and said hello and thanked us for being there. We had takeout and they packed our food in tight containers so it didn't leak in the bag it was hot when we got to our destinations. Tried the place today after watching their benefit for Maui. May comeback and try something different..: not sure yet. I had the garlic shrimp. Plenty of food, the rolls were good, but not the garlic on the shrimp. It literally tasted like burnt garlic and bitter. Just was not good at all. Hubby had the pineapple jalapeño shrimp. Growing up in Hawaii, this place was somewhat nostalgic for me. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was low-key. I had the kalua pig sliders with kimchi slaw and a coconut smoothie. We've not been able to go to Hawaii due to the extreme costs with traveling but trust me when I tell you that the food is horrible. A complete waste of money! Wow! Where to start? How about we start at the beginning? I love Hawaiian food, coming from Utah, we have a huge Polynesian population so we have good Hawaiian food. Even the fast food places like Mo' Betters are really good. Now let me tell you I was excited to find this card in my stuff today. It said order online for pick up or delivery. Great I ordered amazing looking menu. At check out there was a "convenience fee" of $2 for ordering online. Okay, let me tell you I am getting pretty fed up with all the "convenience fees", but $2 is fine. The moment I chose delivery that fee jumped to $8.99, WTAF! Yes, an additional $7 for what? Surely this includes the tip, nope. The next question is would you like to include tip. So WTF is this fee for? Not your gas, I'm pretty sure your calling door dash or having your employees deliver the food in their own car. If it is for gas you're 3 miles away, that's some shitty gas mileage. Other items on my receipt, hidden fees in the order. I ordered a $12.95 meal it came to $14.11, the sauce was $.75, but I have no clue what else they charged me for nothing is priced out as extra or listed as extra on my receipt. Ri-damn-diculous! The dessert did the same thing there is an extra $.18 cents there to with no reason why. Let's talk about how they packed this fine meal. To save a few Pennie's they put my seaweed salad in with my hot food. Not only is it warm, yuck! But it also smells so strongly of fish, gone bad. Well I won't be eating it, yes I tried it is indeed gross The aloha chicken is good the Aloha green rice, just tastes of steamed rice. This food is nothing to drive 3 blocks for, let alone 3 miles. When My girlfriend and I first walked in, we were a little confused on how everything worked but the staff was very sweet and talked us through everything. The food was delicious. Really liked the Pork bugoli and katsu chicken. Wouldn't waste your money on a smoothie unless you like powdered base smoothies and not real fruit.The inside was small and colorful but very nice.
