My family and I were staying at an Airbnb down the road. I really wanted some shrimp and found this spot on Yelp. Our very large group ordered a variety of items. The spicy shrimp was the biggest hit. The spice was perfect and I enjoyed every bite of my meal. The truck is on the side of a store and has open seating on picnic benches. The folks working were friendly and provided great service for our large group. The food came out fresh and in a timely manner. I highly recommend a stop here and I wish I had time to go back for more.

Best spots around the island are those little stops along the highway. Usually next to a store or market. This is cash only and they have lots of different shrimp. I picky about my shrimp and usually don't like the peel and eat shrimp which has lots of flavor on the shell and nothing on the shrimp. So I ended up getting the coconut shrimp and my hubby got tempura shrimp. Lots of shrimp, cooked well and served with rice and corn. Lots of seating and lots of roadside chickens running around. Friendly, quick, flavorful !

Away from the big crowds of the Kahuku shrimp trucks is Aloha Shrimp in Hauula. It's easy to miss so keep an eye out for the blue building and food truck. There's a nice big open grassy space with shaded picnic tables to enjoy your food at. There's a few other food trucks in the area that share this eating area. They even have a little hand washing station, along with trash and recycling bins that were very well maintained. The ambiance is really chill and you may even see their resident family of chickens. We ordered the classic garlic shrimp and the spicy garlic lemon shrimp. Each plate comes with corn, a slice of pineapple, and rice with that sauce all over. Usually, if there are two versions of a dish- I usually like the spicy version better. Comparing the normal garlic butter with the spicy is so difficult because of how good the garlic butter is on it's own. The spicy has a bit of a vinegar tangy spice with a nice medium - high heat. My friend really loved the spicy one, so I ended up eating more of the regular garlic shrimp. Once you place your order, you'll get a beeper that goes off when your food is ready. For two plates, it took around 10-15 minutes. Service is very friendly and you can tell that the people here put a lot of care into their food.

Consistency! Aloha climbed its way to the top of my list. Ran by a super hard working humble family. First to open and last to close. Super fresh shrimp. Killer sauce #5. My favorite shrimp spot on the island! It's about a an hour drive for me, but always worth it. I usually stop by on my way to the North Shore. The coconut shrimp is great, but the spicy garlic lemon shrimp is unmatched. The owners are super sweet and the food comes out fast every time. Highly recommend!

This use to be my favorite shrimp truck but this most recent trip here has left me slightly disappointed. They got the sauce down and it is impeccable. The spiciness is not overbearing and it is the perfect richness from the butter. The shrimp, however, was kind of mushy this time. Previously, the shrimps were plump and not mushy so maybe I came on an off day. Overall great shrimp truck to check out with an abundance of parking. Plenty of seating for dining. The workers here are always nice and are quick to pump out the food.

I was recommended to try Garlic shrimp by a lot of people on our trip to Oahu,Hawaii . I must say it's one of the most delicious food I ever had. Aloha shrimp came up on our search while traveling from Waikiki to North shore and we thought of giving it a try . It a food truck basically . The prices were reasonable and the service was quick . They greeted us with nice smile and they have a nice seating area where you can sit and enjoy your food. There are also some others fruit stands and trucks nearby ( I saw a Thai food truck right next to it ) . So you have many options in the same place if you wanna try something else however I recommend trying the garlic shrimp from Aloha Shrimp truck .

Single food truck off the side of the road on the eastern side of the island. Super unassuming but you'll see signs and their light blue truck if you follow the GPS. There are some unmarked places to park once you turn off the road -- you'll see some cars there already so you can park next to them. The Chinese couple who run this truck are so sweet. We ordered the #1 Garlic Shrimp and sat down at one of the 8 picnic tables they have outside their truck. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and drowning in butter + garlic. The rice soaked up the sauce on the shrimp, and the corn + pineapple sides were nice additions, albeit small (just one piece of sliced pineapple?). I'd come back again but I'd also be interested in trying one of the many other garlic shrimp plates in the North Shore to see how this stacks up.

Another really tasty shrimp truck! We came here after the Kualoa Ranch Tour and were excited to find they had garlic shrimp and spicy shrimp again. The spicy shrimp was really good, the sauce was divine. It came with rice, a slice of pineapple, and corn. I do prefer Jenny's shrimp truck more but the owner here was very sweet and there was a generous about of shrimp. There was also ample seating for us. Note: the forks do break very easily so try to be more gentle when you use them!

Love, love, love Aloha Shrimp! This was the very first place we ate after arriving on the island, and let me tell you--the bar was set high right from the start. The customer service was excellent. They were super patient with me while I took my time deciding what to order. The menu isn't huge, but I wanted to be sure of my choice. Their most popular items are the #1 and #5: garlic shrimp and spicy garlic shrimp, both served with rice, pineapple and corn. The food took a few minutes to prepare, but we didn't mind--it gave us a chance to take in the scenery and watch the chickens running around. When the food came out, the aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. The shrimp was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. You really can't beat it. The garlic topping on both the shrimp and rice added even more flavor, though the corn was a bit of a letdown--cold and straight from the can. But honestly? The shrimp was so amazing, I didn't even care. In fact, it was so good that after grabbing sushi later that day, we stopped by again and picked up another plate on the way to our destination. I'm so glad we gave this food truck a try--10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Tried this truck as it was the only thing open close by. The food was ok for me. We got the garlic shrimp it came with rice and some canned corn, and a slice of pineapple. You order and then go back to pick up when called. They have covered seating on the side and parking. It's a very casual and open environment.

A little simple shrimp eatery that's pretty good. They only have like 8 things in the menu. I got the Garlic Shrimp and it the flavoring was pretty good. The sides comes with rice, simple salad and a slice of pineapple. Overall the place is pretty good. Well recommended if you're feeling shrimpy read more

Shrimp truck on Kam Hwy, tried the garlic shrimp, it was wonderful. Shaded outdoor picnic tables, with ocean and mountain views, it doesn't get much better than that. My only complaint is they have Pepsi products and your girl is a Diet Coke girl, nbd, there's a shop walking distance that has it. Also a shave ice shack just steps away! 10/10 would go again. read more

Omg I can't tell you how delicious this place is! And both times we went the line was not long. We got the spicy garlic lemon shrimp. It comes with a small salad, rice, and a pineapple. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the shrimp had a delicious garlic&spices flavor, but not too oily like other locations. It had just enough of a spicy kick to it. We also tried teds bakery garlic shrimp but ended up coming back here for more because they were lacking flavors and it was all grease from the butter. read more

Everything that they say about this place is true! Some of the most amazing northshore garlic shrimp that I've ever eaten. I don't know what they do to cook their garlic to make the sauce but I need the recipe right away! Stop here! You won't regret it. Some seating and there is a store next door. read more

This place is very good. Get the spicy garlic shrimp for at least one of the orders, that is the stand out. Personally I like honos better but these guys are contenders for some of the best shrimp. It is very good. Quick notes, they are cash only. An order is about 14$ as of this review, and they have outdoor seating in the shade. There is a sweet ambiance of clicking chickens that made for a great meal.9 read more

Top tier shrimp truck. Right alongside Fumis I think these are the two best on the island. Big juicy perfectly cooked shrimp along with a sweet garlic tangy spicy sauce. 100% recommend this. read more

This little food truck doesn't look like much, but the food is a must stop while exploring the North Shore We had the spicy garlic lemon shrimp and loved every bite. There were eight very large shrimp in our combo. I liked how they split the shrimp so it was clean and easy to peel. There is a neighboring market and fruit stand and the covered picnic area allow dining for all. So grab a coconut, açaí bowl, your favorite Kona Brew and enjoy the shrimp plates. read more

A hoi ae au. ('Ere I depart.) Until we meet again." - Queen Lili'uokalani Truth is, I'm not a huge (farmed) shrimp truck person. I grew up eating fresh mollusks and shellfish in New England so I have to say I'm quite spoiled. Try as I might to enjoy the seafood in Hawaii, aside from fresh local caught fish, sashimi, and poke, I usually don't order seafood since it's usually frozen or pumped with water prior to delivery. However, for my lovely friends Karen & Ken, I'll drive around the island and have lunch with them any day!! As soon as my friends decided on AS, the song Aloha 'Oe came to my mind. Knowing that I wouldn't be seeing my friends until their next visit, I thought the name alone was apropos!! This was the first time in over 20+ years that I have driven to Kahuku to eat at a shrimp truck! After an island drive, we were all hangry. Looking at the photos and reviews definitely made us hangrier!! As we arrived at AS we noticed a covered dining area with benches which was nice! That meant we could just order and eat our plates while they were hot and fresh!! A nice man and his father (I presume) own and operate the AS truck. Very humble and sweet!! After seeing all the menu photos, I decided to order the following: Spicy Garlic Lemon Shrimp. (3.5 stars). I have to thank my DB for posting his review because I ordered exactly what he did! I was ecstatic to see that AS used beheaded and deveined shrimps!! That definitely made me happy. I don't mind shrimp heads but I dislike shrimps that are not deveined. AS leaves their shells on to allow for the sauce to permeate the shrimp meat during marination as well as the cooking process. While this adds flavor, it's definitely messy. Thank goodness for napkins! I guess I'm a "glamper" because I wished there was a sink and soap!! The shrimps were plump and sweet. I just personally miss shrimps that taste like the ocean... but I have to say this is the best quality farmed shrimp I have had. My spicy garlic lemon sauce was a bit too sweet for me. While there were chilis in the sauce, the sautéing of the garlic brought out the wicked sweetness of the garlic vice the pungent garlic flavor I love. The sautéed minced garlic gave a soft and creamy texture to the sauce and shrimp. The owner was nice enough to bring me extra chili sauce which did help combat the sweetness. The lemon was noticeable and not overpowering which was nice. I liked the fact that AS serves a fresh slice of pineapple along with a fresh salad to give some contrast to my palate, as opposed to just eating shrimp... --- I'm so grateful to my friends for finding AS and being willing to try some place new! I lucked out because I would have never come out to try any shrimp trucks if it wasn't for them! I have to say AS impressed me enough to take friends here if I was on this side of the island again. read more

Listen !! Im from LA where we have some good shrimp !! But this one oohhh this one is the best Not only price wise because im use to paying way more,the taste !!. The spicy sauce don't know how they make it but If I had the opportunity to bring some wit me I totally would've.. make sure you take pictures first ... I sure didn't !! I regret it !! read more

Stopped by on our way to Polynesian Culture Center on the day of our arrival in Hawaii. Our driver suggested that we get a quick bite at this food truck since the foods at the center would be too costly. We tried their Spicy Shrimp and Garlic Shrimp combos. Each came with a side salad, a piece of pineapple, 2 scoops of white rice and 8 pieces of shrimps for $14.99. The taste is fair. I didn't find it super tasty but it filled me up. The chef/owner was friendly and the sitting area had some free range roosters running around. Kids found that as the highlight of the whole meal. read more

When in Hawaii, this food truck is a must! We usually go after visiting Kualoa Ranch because it's nearby. The garlic shrimp is our favorite paired with an ice tea! The owners are always so welcoming and kind. There's a patio area to dine at which protected us from the rain. Gorgeous view of the beach on one side and the mountain ridge on the other. read more

I honestly dont know how this place has 5 STARS!? Lol on the side i got one pineapple & cold ass corn lmao the shrimp & rice was okay not the best though. The chickens there were super aggressive too we had to eat in the car lol. read more

I've heard lot of stories and people about Aloha Shrimp. So today, after our Sand Bar adventure in Kaneohe Bay, we went straight here to try the Garlic Shrimp or the Coconut Shrimp. But sadly, Coconut Shrimp is already sold out so I just tried the Spicy Garlic Shrimp! And guess what? It was insanely GOOD! The shrimp quality, the sauce and even the veggies with it. The staffs (or owners maybe) are very nice too. They even asked me if I wanted to have more rice and if the sauce of my food is too much. So yeah, this place is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 2 thumbs up for Aloha Shrimp!!! read more

This was sooooo good. Initially we were headed to a different shrimp truck but the reviews for this one were even better and I absolutely agree! Got the spicy garlic lemon shrimp and it was delicious. Don't drive by, definitely stop here--the truck doesn't look like much but I'm already trying to figure out how I can make it back while on Waikiki for vacation. YUM. read more

Best shrimp we ever had! Happened upon this place as we were driving and googling shrimp trucks; we saw all of the 5-star reviews and decided to stop and were glad we did. Definitely one of my favorite meals from my latest visit to the island. I've tried Giovanni's and the oat and wasn't impressed. Way too hyped. Aloha Shrimp tho...damn. So underrated! The spicy garlic shrimp is mouth watering good, finger licking good. I got about ten shrimps with my order and they were large and filling. The sauce is heaven. Perfectly spicy and garlicky with a hint of lemon. Since everyone and their mommas go to Giovanni's, there are no long lines here, no flies, and plenty of tables for seating. Plus the family running the truck is freakin cute. The grade school aged son was taking our orders and you could tell the kid's mature beyond his years. Love it. read more

Aloha shrimp is a small food truck right off the side of there road. After an hour drive from south shore, my wife found this hidden gem of a place and it was totally fantastic. The food was hot, owners were incredibly nice, and overall it was a great experience. The shrimp and chicken Katsu were awesome! Definitely stop here on your way to north shore. You won't regret it. read more

Wow ! Simply the best meal we've had in O'ahu in our week long stay on the island. And we thought we had some really good meals. But this shrimp truck beats everything out of the water. The family who runs the truck makes the food with love and you can taste the love. Get the coconut shrimp; garlic shrimp; lemon shrimp; spicy garlic lemon shrimp; infact everything is great. Traveling from California and this is by far worth every penny!!! We stayed in Waikiki and drove here 2 times during our visit. One word: AMAZING!!! Everything was super flavorful and wasn't missing anything. We were all satisfied and came back for more! Highly recommend the spicy garlic lemon shrimp. It isn't toooo spicy but made perfectly. (You can also ask for spicy sauce on the side for dip) Service was good and we did not have trouble finding parking. It wasn't infested with flies either (like giovanni's) 10/10 recommend!!! read more

Can words describe an ephemeral sunset or the sight of a half-court buzzer beater to cover the spread? Similarly, there are no words or phrases to describe this wonderful, wonderful experience at Aloha Shrimp. The garlic shrimp? Fueg. Spicy shrimp? Magnificent. We wanted to get one box at first but went back for another. Worth every penny. Gold medal, Michelin star this spot immediately. Owners were kind and dapped up my girlfriend and had a nice chat with her. We had drool stains on all our clothes from every time we thought of this place. Every second spent in this paradise will be a lasting memory for years to come. Seven stars, if I could. A little slice of heaven on earth. read more

We were there for a week and tried about 5 different places of garlic shrimp, but came back to this one 3 times. They are literally the best, they out the perfect amount of sauce so that you can dip your shrimp and put some on your rice. You can also call ahead. read more

Decent shrimp truck. I stopped by on the way back from meeting someone in Hau'ula. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Shrimp and grabbed a Passion Orange drink. The quality of the shrimp was good, the rice was well cooked, however the sauce tasted more like chili than garlic. I enjoy spice and have a very high tolerance for capsaicin (I enjoy Carolina reaper hot sauces) but the level of spice this hit surpassed the point of having a flavor other than "hot". Other trucks in the area give far more sauce (and thinner) so it soaks into the rice, but the sauce felt more like an after thought than a part of the dish. The shrimp was cooked well, I just wish it had more garlic flavor. Overall a good stop, just wouldn't be my first choice in recommending shrimp trucks to visitors. read more

The ahi cakes were huge, so you would think they would be dry...you would also be wrong. They were perfectly dense while still moist, with the perfect aioli drizzled on top. The bonus? You get two! Everyone has their favorite shrimp place. We've had Fumi's and Romy's so this place is just ok for us. We got there around 6pm on Friday. No line and only other customers were a group of 4 guys eating their plates. Based on yelp reviews, we ordered garlic shrimp plate, spicy garlic shrimp plate and coconut shrimp plate. Within 5 minutes we saw they finished 2 boxes then we waited and waited and waited. After almost 20 min, they finally finished our order. Apparently they were working on the coconut shrimp plate, and there was no other customers. We were really hungry so you would think the food would be amazing. Not the case. Barely any garlic so the sauce was not flavorful. Shrimps were medium size but not a lot for the order of $13; 5 to 6 shrimps. They were cooked just right but kinda cold since they were sitting in boxes while the coconut shrimps being cooked. Spicy shrimps tasted like the garlic ones with sriracha stirred in, nothing special. As for the coconut ones, too much coconut coating which made the shrimps too sweet. Don't know what's with all the 5 stars review but we'll stick with Romy's (especially their prawns) and Fumi's since we love garlic. read more

Who doesn't want to venture into North Shore for some of their famous shrimp trucks?! Luckily, I stumbled across Aloha Shrimp and I found myself amongst friendly service, tons of outdoor seating, and free range roosters roaming throughout. When it comes to shrimp, I'm usually a lemon pepper type of gal and although I did opt for my usual, I also decided to add on another order of garlic shrimp. I'm a big garlic girl and this order, in no means, disappointed me in the slightest. There's nothing like sitting there in flip flops in total laziness, all the while grubbing on some of the freshest seafood on Earth. Great shrimp truck! I've been coming here consistently since I discovered this place. I live on the North Shore where there are shrimp trucks every couple miles and yet I drive 30 minutes away just to come here to eat this incredibly delicious shrimp.
