Fear free! My 15 year old rescue puppy is old and 14 years later still has many phobias. Dr Yamate and her staff are all so very warm and affectionate! From reception asking about her phobias and then following through to make sure everyone took them into account, they made Lani comfortable. Coming in she was anxious and wary, watching them work their magic to bring out the puppy smiles and tail wagging, it was such a relief to see Lani perfectly happy to let them do what they needed to help her! I was so terrified to bring my 4yr old baby shihtzu into a new vet after having to take her to an emergency hospital which did not solve her issue unfortunately, as well as her home vet being too busy .But thanks to Aloha they made sure Honey got all the tests she needed after vomiting for days and not feeling herself. Ended up finding out that it was unfortunately pancreatitis. I'm glad we caught it soon and my baby is currently receiving treatment for it under their amazing care. I could not be more grateful enough to the doctors and assistants here. Especially Kirsten, big shoutout to her for fitting my baby in to be seen asap unlike her home vet. I know she's in good hands and they have been very good in keeping communication with me and being nothing but supportive . I so wanted to love this office and hopefully make it my new local vet but sadly that won't be happening. I brought my senior Beagle in as she had been throwing up and I was a bit concerned. Fast forward to over TWO hours later and an INITIAL bill of over $1,400 I thought this was some type of weird joke. The doctor was nice enough but her and her assistant seemed surprised when I declined a lot of the services. I get it you have a nice new office and someone needs to pay those bills but unfortunately that someone isn't me. So I still don't know what's going on with my poor girl and I don't have the time and/or money to go back to this office for another frustrating round 2. I guess the search for an honest and reputable vet continues. Update: Well, I asked if you had any availability and you offered an appointment for that day. If you were going to have me wait an hour once I arrived, maybe we could have just waited. We also didn't pin point potential issues, rather the "throw everything but the kitchen sink at it" approach was taken. I left after a few hours confused without any direction. Luckily I followed up with another vet that gave me not only a comprehensive list of potential causes and a treatment but also a confused reaction to how little this office did. Run, don't walk away from this vet because it definitely felt like a scam. We spent almost $500 and all we got was pain meds and some overpriced food that our dog refused to eat. Another vet previously diagnosed our puppy with IBS but we still don't know what is causing her digestive issues and refusal to eat. I asked for a prescription to send to Chewy or a regular pharmacy because their prices were twice as much. They also left us in the back room for an hour. I looked up the government agency that regulates Vets to report them because that is how strongly I felt about them scamming me. They refunded the price of the food and one of the prescriptions after I complained about them refusing to give me a precription and forcing me to pay almost double for the medication. Anyway, all the vets are owned by corporations who could care less about animals. Post pandemic, the vet business is a money grab and our animals suffer because of it. I thought I would always have a dog, but this is my last dog because I believe in providing a high quality of life for my dogs and the veterinary care that is available is inadequate and being driven by corporate greed. If you love your pet, please don't bring them to this vet. read more

We found our first kitten a year and a half ago and Marina has been our main vet ever since Aloha opened, and we love her. First, the office is beautiful and focuses on creating a calming and stress-free environment, and all the people who work there seem to genuinely care about your pet. It's a great vet for regular checkups, but also great for aftercare if your pet has any emergencies (which unfortunately my cat got a urinary blockage and had to go to the ER since it was a Sunday night). Once he was transferred here, they were able to text me photos and updates on him throughout the day which was so reassuring. So grateful to have a vet that we can trust to give the best care who my cat feels so comfortable with. read more

Huge Shout Out to "Aloha Veterinary Hospital". My sweet Ginger was having cluster seizures, yesterday. I called my regular vet, who was short handed, and they could not fit us in. I then called a few other vets, and they shot me down. Now, I started the phone calls at noonish, then around 2:30, I remembered a great review for "Aloha". I quickly called their office. I thought they would turn us down, due to the time frame. They were also booked, but told me to bring her in. We arrived around 3:15, went over her issues, and they worked their magic. Full blood panel done, along with the results. X-Rays done, along with results. Phenobarbital given, along with pain meds. Doctor Marina is AWESOME! Very honest, and to the point. They close at 5PM, yet they stayed for my Ginger, until after 7PM, and we had all the answers. You have no idea how much that meant to me. This place is state-of-the-art. I highly recommend them. So does my Ginger, they were so good to her. So kind, and even took the time to give us a tour. read more

If your like me, you love your pets and want the best possible care for them. Going to Aloha, I quickly found out that this vet only cares about your money and less about your pet! stay away. I came in to get an estimate and a check up for my senior cat and right away they tried selling me a ton of extra services and thier own branded products that weren't needed whatsoever. Their testings and procedures are very overpriced. I was quoted almost $3000 for just a dental cleaning for my cat and that didn't even include the bloodwork and other fees I orginally payed for. I stopped going to this vet immediately and now they keep trying to charge me more by sending me bills for medication/testing I never agreed to. I would not recommend coming to this vet. read more

I have a highly anxious cat and the team at Aloha went above and beyond to make sure he was at ease during his visit. I decided to check them out because they're fear free and the steps they take, like giving him a churu during examination, seemed to really help and it was one of the most pleasant visits we've had at the vet. Dr. Yamate answered my millions of questions and was very empathetic to our challenges with our cat. We were able to work with the team to finally figure out a medication formula that he'll eat (they work with a compounding pharmacy) so I don't have to stress about medicating him each day. read more

The staff was friendly and seemingly compassionate. But in reality, this facility is revenue focused. Generating revenue, selling expensive food and prescriptions is their top priority over the well-being of your pet. After very costly recommendations, treatments, medication and special diet, my cat continued to decline rapidly. I took my cat to a different veterinarian, who explained to me that no amount of treatment, medication or prescription diet was going to improve the health of my cat. My new vet compassionately informed me that the Aloha should have been honest with me about my cat's true outcome and stated that knowing his condition and still prescribing costly treatments and medication's brings their ethics into question. I was charged over $2000 for only two visits when they knew my cat would not survive the next few days. Another red-flag for me was that the veterinarians are unknowledgeable about most pet medical situations and continued to refer to outsourced specialists. The cost of doing this is transferred onto the customer. I recommend going to a veterinarian who is knowledgeable and cares about the well-being of your beloved pets. My cat's new vet recommended that we euthanize him immediately as he was in dire condition and would not recover. His new vet was extremely compassionate to not only my pet, but also to me. I do not recommend Aloha. read more

If you are like me, you probably have visited multiple veterinarians to discuss what is going on with your pup. You probably spent hundreds of dollars with the same issues continuously happening. It got to a point where I was getting fed up and didn't know where to go. Then I met Dr. Marina and her team at Aloha Veterinary Hospital. After one visit we were able to figure out what exactly what was wrong with my pup, discuss the root cause of the issue, and provided me with a resolution to prevent it from happening again going forward. Amazing, caring staff. The passion and love Dr. Yamate has for her patients is so refreshing. I read reviews saying how their pets are not scared or feel comfortable coming to this clinic and you can easily see why after interacting with her and her staff. Our rescue dog who we recently adopted few months ago had giardia from the get go (there must've been an outbreak of giardia at the shelter) and Aloha vet took such amazing care of her. Then couple weeks later, she again got another separate gastrointestinal issue. I called the clinic and I think they added her to their busy schedule and saw her right away. Her treatment plan worked right away and now our new dog is thriving and doing well. Also, we brought our other older dog to the clinic for a routine check up and vaccination- what was amazing is that our older dog is usually very timid and generally trembles every time we bring her in to any other vet clinics (she has gone to 4 other vet clinics in the past). Not with Aloha Vet- we were very impressed! The only thing that would be nice is if this clinic opened even half a day on Saturday. Regardless, they are so amazing- Thank you Aloha Vet!! read more
