She was very thorough in her explanation of what and how she would be doing to treat Bridgett's mouth. I also had a consultation on what my fur-children need nutritionally and how to achieve that goal. She is very gentle and calming. This is reassuring when your fur-child can be a bit high strung. Bridgett had really dark brown plague on her teeth and her gums were inflamed. While in the process of non-anesthetic procedure, I could see the pink returning to her gums. When she started using the cleaning pic, the plague came off like a skin from the tooth. Her breath was immediately better and Bridgett was none the worse for wear. She comes to your home which makes it even better for your pet.

We were heart broken but He and Suzanne were amazing and walked us through the steps to give Gizmo the medicine she needed to be comfortable. Last week it was time and we called Dr. Charlie at LaFinn and had a sad but peaceful experience as Gizmo sailed to heaven surrounded by love. Thank you Gentle Care team and by the way we were so surprised yesterday to receive a beautiful card in the main from the Gentle Care team each writing us a wonderful note wishing us sympathy and condolences. We are sad today as we miss our Gizmo terribly but know she enjoyed a wonderful life with us. Thank you the Gentle Care Team and the LaFinn team.

For one, you cannot talk to anyone over the phone. But the worst part is, they pretend they're interpreting your pets results themselves and are actually using AI to do so. They're also creating a grey area by insisting the vet reviews the results first, but when I ask for "laymans terms" and you paste me something you pretend to write, yes I have a problem with that. When I asked, they admitted AI usage and then gaslighted me into believing it's only being used for "formatting". The only AI usage I ever agreed to was during a zoom call I agreed for AI based transcription of our conversation, that's all. I just don't understand why it's so hard to give an actual response that you wrote. I really wanted to like this vet but their time saving practices are grossly counterproductive and wildly inappropriate.

In my heart, some reasons, the words did not sound convincing. Decided to search for a vet that integrate alternatives medicine... we found Dr Chen. When we started working with Dr. Chen, she only had a room in her clinic. A small boutique vet clinic where mini walked around sniffed all the staff and we could be in her eye sight all the time. I do admit, I later did miss the intimate setting. Her clinic expanded more and more during our time with mini there. She got her chronic ear infection treated (in one treatment!) her gut issues and later her heart issue. There definitely has been hiccups here and there as the treatments were always smooth sailing but the staff really cared for mini. We got acupuncture herbal medicine nutrition support... she lived for another 2.5 years and the team were always gentle with her and really helped her. we don't have a dog at this time, but when we do, we will be going back to Dr Chen and the team!

Just wanted to give another update on Bixby as we've passed the one-year mark after his surgery…read more Well, first off, he's still here! He's had three main issues he's had to deal with since the surgery, but he has maintained his generally happy disposition and hearty appetite and, indeed, his organs are still functioning very well. The first thing he had to deal with was a few months after the surgery, when he suffered a seizure. Tests ruled out any problems with his organs, so Dr. McBride advised that it was most likely caused by a brain tumor, likely benign. That almost certainly has proven to be right, since if it had been a malignant brain tumor, he wouldn't still be here today. We got him on anti-seizure medication about 6 and a half months ago; Dr. McBride's course of treatment was to do a higher dose of the meds for the first 2 weeks so as to get the seizures under control immediately. (Before we could take him in to get checked on a Monday, he actually had 2 seizures within 24 hours on that Saturday-Sunday, heightening the importance of getting it under control right away.) Those first 2 weeks were the toughest, since he barely had any motor function, but he got through it. I'll estimate he's about 10-20% loopy from the meds, but his personality is still there and it's obviously been well worth being on the meds, as over half a year being seizure-free has been much better than if he were forced to suffer through having them frequently. The next issue essentially happened concurrently when he started the anti-seizure meds, as he's been unable to walk on his back legs since then. So now I have a handicapped old boy, but, again, he doesn't let that get him down. It just requires a 24/7 commitment by me to make sure he's comfortable at all times, but luckily I don't have a regular job so I can devote myself to his care. He would mostly lay down and rest and/or sleep at home anyway, so now the only real difference is that when he needs to pee, I take him out to our balcony where he can go on a pee pad. (I stand him up on his back legs, as he can still put weight on his front legs, and that way he can still stand up and do his business.) My days of continuous sleep are gone, but it's a small sacrifice to make, indeed. Lastly, about 3 weeks ago I noticed a small pebble-like growth on the outside of his mouth, just kind of hanging there. At first I thought it was a piece of his food, as it was even the same color. I took him in and Dr. McBride was able to remove the growth with him under light sedation. He's been just fine since, as if nothing happened. Again, we're hoping that it's just a benign growth, especially since he's had a few of those in his history. If it's malignant, she advised that it will come back as another growth, likely within a month. Again, knock on wood, but so far, so good. So that's my update. Bixby is still with me, still happy, and I'm still exceptionally grateful for Dr. McBride's care. I've gotten another year with my guy...and counting.

I am beyond disgusted by what I experienced and my mother who was taken advantage of by having her credit card on file which that office staff made sure of by threatening her that services would no longer would be provided. My mother's dog had dental issues and the staff explained to us that if we signed up for the VCA preferred customer club, we would get the dental covered which was a total lie! BEWARE customers: You will get persuaded and robbed. Sure this office has had its renovations done and updated staffing, but don't let it fool you. Do your research and find your pet the care they deserve if you love them and that's not this place.

Jennifer has made such a difference in our lives!…read more Pepper was 1 yr old in 2013 when we rescued her from euthanasia at our local SPCA. She was returned for aggressiveness - she wouldn't allow anyone to touch her with their hands. She guarded her food and snapped at people and growled 24/7 - even when she was having fun. We will never know exactly what trauma she suffered before we brought her home, but we knew she deserved a chance at life. Even if she needed to be separate. That was ok. She deserved to be alive. For years we worked with Pepper, touching her with our feet, then socks over hands, giving her privacy, putting her food off to the side, and letting her come to us when she wanted attention. The ongoing issue was that Pepper wouldn't come unless we forced her. We didn't like forcing her to go out or interact. We knew there had to be another way. Then we met Jennifer! After a few sessions Pepper started coming to me when called, she started volunteering for cuddles and has even started to lay in my lap and allow me to pet her. This is Huge. Pepper prefers my husband, she never ever came to my lap for love before. The Pepper I knew simply "tolerated" me, and would sometimes allow my husband some interaction. Pepper is even more amazing than ever before. Jennifer helped Pepper to know that we love her and would never ever traumatize her or force her to do anything she didn't want to do. She's the nicest, friendliest, loving dog. She is great with kids (we never knew this before!)
