He really did not have to do that, and I sincerely appreciate his generosity and staff for giving me a wonderful dine in experience tonight. You can never go wrong with the yellow sauce and it's probably best to dine in to snack on the chicken while it's still hot off the oven! Tonight, my partner and I tried tostanos and it was really, really, really good!! It pairs well with the yellow and green sauce! Chicken was incredibly moist and juicy and super filling, as we ordered an additional half chicken order to eat with the complimentary quarter chicken tonight. I've been to several Alpacas, but this was my first visit to the one in Chapel Hill. It was just as good as the others! It's easy to get in and out, and parking was very easy on a holiday week. I took a friend who had never been to any Alpaca. She ordered the Monday special, Pollo Saltado with fries, chicken tenders, and grilled vegetables. She loved it! I stuck with my regular--1/4 white, black beans, and yuca fries. Everything was great! We were there on the Monday before Thanksgiving at noon. Since moving to NC, I've seen several Alpaca locations and have been curious about the Peruvian Rotisserie Chickens. I stopped by one day for lunch and got their quarter chicken meal which comes with a quarter of a chicken (choice of dark or white meat) and two sides. I ended up getting fries and their yuca fries to compare. The yuca fries were an additional 50 cent upgrade, but definitely worthwhile. If I had to describe yuca fries, it would be a fluffy, almost golden potato fry texture. For the price I paid, I thought it was very reasonable for a generous portion. Be sure to grab the green and yellow sauce. The yellow sauce is almost like a tangy mayonnaise, while the green sauce reminds me of a very spicy aguacate sauce. Both pair really well when drizzled on the chicken. Pros: Fast, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Cons: Parking lot gets really dark at night since the area is not well-lit. But with plenty of open spots, there shouldn't be any issues finding parking. read more

My new quick-service go-to. I'm obsessed with the Pollo Saltado. Sooooo savory and delicious. It's different from anything else in this dining category and the quality is high. I love Alpaca. I love the yellow sauce. I love the green sauce. This location is just like the Durham location! I highly recommend adding both to anything you're eating- dipping chicken in both sauces and alternating bites. They complement each other wonderfully. I highly recommend the pollo saltado if you're looking for something other than the chicken and two sides, but you can't go wrong their either. I know this is true of most businesses, but I swear the size of the 1/4 dark meat chicken was significantly smaller than usual. We just discovered this place, which recently opened at this location in the last month. We ordered the special for the day, Jerk Chicken, and it was mouthwateringly good. We opted for the upgraded sides of plantains and green beans, and did not regret it. I sopped up all of the sides with the jerk chicken sauce. The chicken is really flavorful without being greasy.
