I am sure they add to the value of my home, but mostly they dramatically increase my enjoyment of all the rooms where they are installed.  I love being able to control the light all over the house.  The window shades provide light-admitting day time privacy, sun and heat protection in the afternoon, and full blackout for the master bedroom.  The big exterior awning provides shade that lets me use the patio even in Summer.  And all have remote controls that are convenient and easy to use.  The owner, Vatche Azarian, does the designs himself. Vatche and his team installed my motorized 30 foot awning 20 years ago and it's still working great for us after two decades! Over the past couple of years through last week, I finally had to replace all four arms - but the cost for that has been reasonable and we should be good for many more years or even decades to come. We've of course also been through at least a few fabric changes, but they've also lasted quite well. The motor and wind & sun sensors have also continued to work great ... although the sun sensor has finally started glitching recently but it's easy to hit a button twice a day to do it ourselves. The level of quality, value, honesty, integrity, and support with Alpha Productions is second to none. I usually don't write reviews, but when I do, that just means that the company/product impressed me above and beyond. We had several quotes from a few awning companies in the valley. We received a booklet in the mail and saw alpha production's AD and liked that they were the manufacturers - 100% made in the USA (Los Angeles). We already have a Sunsetter Costco awning for about 6 years but had to install it ourselves and the vinyl fabric has always smelled and the quality seems alright but not great. We were pleasantly surprised with hundreds of color options, metal hardware color options and overall the salesman that came out really knew what he was talking about. Their price was in the middle of the quotes we received. Great experience and would definitely recommend their products and services. read more

I recently hired Alpha to install a series of solar shades in my new home, including a number of outdoor shades (both manual and electric) as well as three large windows inside. A number of the windows were uniquely shaped and some were not perpendicular to the floor -- in other words, a fairly complex job that required custom attention to do right. The owner Vatche came out a number of times and put care and consideration into figuring out how to best address the job. Vatche has good taste and even recommended an AC guy who I hired to redo my HVAC system. Unfortunately, Vatche wasn't present for a good part of the initial installation. This was disappointing, since his install team hadn't been present during our planning meetings and ended up installing the shades in ways I wasn't in favor of... I was pretty disappointed when I came home to see how the installation had gone and to hear that Vatche had approved the changes over the phone. That said, Vatche was receptive to my disappointment and worked to correct the mistakes. I really appreciate his willingness to have his installation guys spend another whole day to reinstall the products in the way I had been hoping. I wasn't thrilled to have to pay for them to redo one of the products that had been a part of the original package, but I understand that there were additional costs that were being absorbed by the company. All in all, I am now happy with the product and installation, and I think Vatche is a genuinely good guy who really does value making sure the customer is satisfied. read more

Hi just want to share with people my experience with Alpha, in 2015 i spent $10,000 on a large retractable electric installed awning. The only compaint i have and its a big one,i wasn't told anything about removing old silicon and refreshing with new every 5 to 7 years and the last rain caused the roof to leak where the silicon dried and ruin the paint in my eves. Now im told they can do the repair of 350 to 700 dollars just silicon replacement. The salesman and installers should have made it clear how much maintenance is needed. read more

We needed custom awnings over the west-facing windows of our main living space to provide some sunshade relief during the hot summer months. We chose Alpha Productions since they came highly recommended and it is a family-run business. Both Vatche and Silva, a brother-sister team, were a pleasure to work with. Alpha provided top notch customer service, great communication, and they understood our needs. Silva wasted no time and promptly visited the site to provide an estimate, take measurements, and give me samples of fabric patterns and colors. She helped choose the right awnings for the 32 foot space - 3 motorized retractable awnings, one of which spans 18 feet in length. The installation crew was skilled, provided quality work, and completed the project in one day. I should add that installation was no easy feat, as the windows are 2nd story and about 18 feet from the ground. It's been six years since Alpha installed our awnings - they look beautiful, are working great, and have been problem-free! Family owned company with very nice representatives. The motor on my retractable awning died. I made many calls to awning companies, but they all seemed to say - if you didn't buy it from us, we don't want to service it. Alpha Productions was willing to work on the awning no matter where it was purchased. (I had no clue who made it, as it came with the house.) Alpha Productions came out promptly, inspected, and provided a quote for the replacement motor. I was told either a smaller but adequate motor would be used, if possible, if not, a larger motor would be installed instead for a little bit of a higher price. I gave them my credit card information, and the following day they were there to replace the motor. They tried to save me money by putting in a smaller motor, but as we found out the awning was not made by them, and the motor was not the correct fit. Instead the larger motor was installed. We needed an awning for our business for a meeting/eating space. Alpha came out very quickly and gave a reasonable quote and timeframe to get it made and installed. What we wanted was pretty unique and was nearly 20 feet wide. So it had to be designed and installed properly so we would never risk it falling and hurting someone. The end product was installed very professionally and securely so I can sleep well at night knowing it is not at risk of falling. It has continued to perform for over a year now without any issues. My friends laugh at me and say "you know you've really made it when you can afford a custom awning." While that's true given its purpose and safety concerns I would never risk a foreign piece of cra* assembled by child labor. I wanted quality, and that meant American made and installed by the same company. As a professional who has been in the shade products business (but not awnings) I have met many awning companies and know about all products in the market and Alpha Productions is as good as it gets. If you want customer service or any service at all go somewhere else. I phoned three times in one week to get a sales person to come to my home and the sales person never called back. Then I visited the showroom where I was excited to get a new awning. There were no sales reps on site but I was happy to meet with Becky the receptionist. She was nice and tried to help saying for sure the sales rep would call. 2 days later at 5:30 at night the rep called but I was in a meeting and unable to answer. Her message was that she would call me in the morning. She did not call me in the morning or ever again. I then wrote an email to their contact on their web site. No reply. I am forced to move on even though they were a local business that I was ready to do business with. Guess they are just too busy to bother with the locals. read more

The five awnings my husband and I purchased from this company have been a terrific investment! They look great, provide much needed shade, keeping the house cooler, and operate very well. Today's review is really about their service, however. One of the awnings (nearly 5 years old, vertical roll-down model) just stopped operating. Although I waited about ten days for a service opening to become available (it's summer and the hot weather generates higher demand, so I understand), their staff was always very polite and the guys who came out this morning were exceptional. Louis was delightful, (my dogs liked him too) and the guys were clean and efficient in determining the problem. They discovered quite a lot of old wasp nesting when the unit cover was removed which they cleaned before having to change the motor (happily, it was still under the warranty). They even swept up the area around where they'd worked leaving it tidier than when they'd arrived. I recommend their products and I'm very satisfied with their service. read more
