Today was an exciting day--we finally had our new awnings installed! The old burgundy ones had served their time and were long overdue for replacement, so this upgrade feels especially refreshing. The new bluish-green awnings are absolutely beautiful, and I love how they cast a soft blue glow through the windows. It gives the illusion of a sparkling backyard pool--without the work of maintaining one. Based on our experience, it's best to order awnings during the off-season. We placed our order in June, during the warmer months, which in hindsight wasn't the best decision since our replacement wasn't urgent. In the future, we'll plan to order during the colder months, when awnings aren't top of mind for most people and scheduling is likely easier. The Awning Company did a fantastic job, and their team was friendly and professional throughout. I bought an awning and drop-down shade from The Awning Company five years ago. The installation was fine and quality of workmanship was good. Last year I had a failure with my awning and they honored their warranty which was also a good thing. Now the bad. Every time I've contacted them regarding warranty or repair work it has taken multiple phone calls over multiple days to make contact with someone. As a consumer that is B.S. to me, and tells me this is one of those companies that's more than happy to sell you a product but much less interested in servicing it. I've had my fill of playing phone tag with these guys and going through what I consider significant lengths to get service. Although the Awning Company was a few hundred dollars more expensive than the other two, they were the only company that had the colors, and type of material for the remote shade screen we wanted to enclose our patio. Since they were able to provide exactly what we wanted, the small additional expense was worth it. The service was the best from beginning to end. Tony, the sales representative arrived on time on the date we requested. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and very thorough. When we went to the showroom in Irvine, Saul answered all the questions we had, and showed us what our finished product would look like, along with other valuable information, such as their warranties, from where they order their materials, how our product would be instructed, how long it would take, etc. He was courteous, professional, and friendly. The other two companies didn't have showrooms. We were happy to be able to go into their showroom to see first hand the products they had available. The installation went smoothly and was ready within the time period stated to us. Oscar and Alfonso arrived as scheduled. They were efficient and did a great job installing our screen. They knew exactly what needed to be done and did a professional job. Both were very courteous. The shade is adjustable to any height.
