I began an internet search to find a cost-friendly plumber to help with a few issues I was having with my home's plumbing system. Of the 5 or 6 companies I called, the most reasonably priced was Alpha Rooter, so I decided to give them a try. An Alpha Rooter employee was dispatched and arrived at my house within 30 minutes of my call. Fast!! The employee that showed up at my house was very well prepared and courteous. He asked if he can come inside to inspect the issue I was having, and when I said of course, he quickly proceeded to put boonies over his shoes as to not get my house dirty. I showed him the issue with my plumbing and he quickly assessed the situation, explaining to me what needed to be done. What I liked about his communication with respect to what needed to be done, is that I know nothing about plumbing, and after his assessment and explanation, I felt like I knew a lot. He made a trip back to his vehicle and came back with all of the supplies he needed to do the work. He only made one trip, which shows how alert he is. It doesn't rain as often in LA but when it rains, it pours and that's when our HOA desperately needed a plumber. The drainage stopped working, wasn't pumping water and the water was VERY close to getting into our homes. When I got screwed up by a sham general contractor who scammed us with a fake license and took 80K from our budget for our guesthouse total remodeling and abandoned the project with endless things to fix I was devastated. I looked long and hard to find reputable trustworrhy licensed contractors to rescue the project that was suspended for 9 months. I met multiple plumbers from different sources including Yelp, Angie's List and others. I met Harry due to a separate emergency plumbing issue that we had with our main house. He was the only guy we called and showed up late at night with his partner and solved our waterheater issue that turned out to be an accidental shut off . Instead of telling us lies to charge us a lot of money he told us the truth and didn't charge us anything unlike other plumbers ( one even told us to take out our shower to diagnose the problem). We ended up having him install a new toilet we already bought to make up for the time he took to come over our house. Because of that incident I hired Harry to do the entire plumbing work for our guesthouse remodeling from evaluating the existing work to fixing everything and finishing what was left. I told him that I was going to be the general contractor myself and he needed to be flexible and patient with me with timing of each task I assigned him as many of those tasks were dependent on other contractors work and inspection as well. He was very patient and always took my calls whenever I had questions and made himself available whenever I needed him to be at the job site. He and his partner work really long hours daily. They are really honest and hardworking and do great work. During the entire course of many months it's usually me interacting with Harry. My husband who didn't know him thought he looked rough and unhappy because he looked very serious. But through the many months of working with him I know under that tough look he has a really good heart. He laughs when i joke with him that he needs to smile more. I think it's part of Armenian culture that people don't smile as much ( maybe I'm wrong). But what I can tell you is they are good plumbers and charge very reasonable rates.
