I have used Alpine for years on my Heat pump maintenance. Recently when the tech looked it over there were 2 major problems so I decided to replace the system. I also wanted to move the outside unit to the other end of the house to eliminate the noise in the master bedroom. Also, I wanted the next larger size to better handle the house. There was no problem with this. They quoted on 4 levels of quality ranging from $6,000 to about $13,000. I chose the Very good one as it enabled me to get a rebate from PUD and from Carrier. As usual they handled to whole thing in a professional and prompt manner. The new unit is much quieter than the old one and much more efficient. When I've had questions, the answers have always been clear and prompt. I'm very pleased with them. I highly recommend this company. read more

I paid them monthly for years to have twice a year maintenance visit. Three weeks after my last visit, my air conditioner quit and they told me I needed a new system. ($12-18 K estimate). The coolant my older system needed was now obsolete and illegal, I was told. What choices do I have, I asked? New system was my only choice. I got a second opinion and the other company put in a different coolant and it is fixed. Hmmm. $125 service call as opposed to $15,000. They were not honest with me. read more

I had a relay in my heating unit go out a week ago, was able to get alpine in on Thursday. Tech was an hour and a half after their estimated time window, whatever it happens. So I show the tech what I believe to be the problem (dead relay causing heating element to not turn off). Alpine Aire serviced this unit in 2021 for the same issue different relay). Okay, easy enough replace the relay and clean up the wiring that melted (the tech missed this by the way). Friday comes, no call or email about the part being available or not. Monday comes, 10am I give a call cause we've been without heat since last Tuesday and there's a holiday coming this week. I'm told "they're working on a quote for you, you'll have it today". 2pm comes and I give them a call again and explain my situation and I really just need to know if they can order the part or not. At this point the part might arrive in a day or two but then I would have to wait until Monday due to the holiday to even schedule install. That's 11 days from when the tech inspected my heater. But thankfully for all involved Alpine Aire called back at around 3 pm and told me they couldn't get the part as it's too old and they recommend a complete new unit. Funny cause when I look at the relay they replaced in 2021, they replaced it with a relay unit that is 100% still available. We've used Alpine a number of times over the years but will not be using them again. Every step of the process was unprofessional and sloppy. read more

I had Alpine install our hvac system in our new home. The cost to us was $15,000.00. This spring when the weather changed we noticed that the heat pump was not turning on. I then called Alpine Aire to see what was wrong. The tech arrived spent twenty minutes and found the problem. We were told that thermostat was failing and lucky for us it was under warranty. After 15 minutes he had replaced the part and was his way. We live 30 miles from their office so the service call took 1 hours. A week later I received a bill for over $500.00. I was quite surprised and called to find out why a warranty was so expensive. I was told it was $70.00for diagnosis, $125.00 for a service call and $325.00 standard labor charge. When I told them I rhought it was excessive they just blew me off. When I explained that another Co. Fixed my air at my duplex drove 20 miles each way and furnished parts for $197.00 they I just had to live with there pricing schedule. Even though I still have warranty I will not call them again. Alpine Aire "serviced" my furnace and as far as I can tell, all they did was change the filter. They missed two obvious problems: a gas leak on the supply line (bad enough that you could smell the sulphur) and a trail of rust on the side panel of the furnace which indicated some sort of water leak (turned out to be a cracked condensate collection box). Another company had to come out and correct both issues. read more

Alpine Aire has failed to live up to their reputation on multiple accounts over the past few years. We will not be working with them going forward. 1) While the systems they install are top of the line, their sellers are not thorough and fail to communicate to installers. Their own installers were baffled by the package/configuration we were sold and were unable to follow through on some of the promised items. Various elements (extra filters, scrubbers, specific thermostat that was specd) were left out. We had to settle for a lower model and two less elements of what we had discussed in detail with the seller when our system was installed in 2022. Totaling nearly $20,000. 2) A year later, after communicating with Alpine Aire continuously, the PUD was still having trouble issuing our approximately $4,000 rebate. After making weekly phone calls and emails between the PUD (incredibly helpful) and Alpine Aire, it was finally determined that the configuration we had been sold had incompatible components and needed to be changed. While Alpine replaced it free of charge, the hours spent convincing them this needed to be done and waiting for follow ups leading up to it was exhausting to say the least. 3) Last week, a part in our condensate line began to leak. We called dispatch and they sent someone out. This person was here for approximately 50 minutes, could not properly install the new air filter we purchased from them correctly (my husband had to redo it) and replaced the piece with a filthy piece of PVC (he proceeded to just sit in our furnace room doing nothing). The installer actually said "I have this old piece of pipe", he did not have plumbers glue. Predictably, it failed, leaked again (under our wall) and had to be rebuilt again the next day. Both installers (and all of the installers we've worked with) have been incredibly kind, however, the first one we had last week did very disappointing work. 4) We are less than 14 months past our systems being installed. When we called Alpine Aire to challenge the bill they'd sent, the Dispatch Coordinator was combative at the start of the call. Misrepresented what I was communicating to her, and, when I challenged the issue based on what had actually broken she sarcastically said "oh wow - you're an installer then huh?". She also argued - in response to our assertion that he did something incorrectly (that we watched him do incorrectly) that he has years of experience and is good at what he does. This, even though he clearly did it wrong as they had to send someone the next day after it had been leaking again. After much back and forth, and getting nowhere through many red herrings ("you wanted us to bring you a new filter so you would have been charged that anyway" - of course we would never ask to have a filter brought to us if they weren't coming anyway. 5) Lastly, when I spoke with the general manager and verified each element of the bill she said I would not be charged for parts (see above re: small dirty pipe) and yet it is a $68 line item on our $468 bill. She also asserted (as though they're doing me a favor) that we could have been charged a longer dispatch fee (incorrect as the initial worker sat and did nothing for much of the 51 minutes he was here) and when I countered that point she said "I don't need to argue with you" - odd, since she is who brought up the combative point. The service call is representative of our experience with them overall - when presented with an issue, they deny culpability until we are either exhausted and give up or an entity with authority (i.e. the PUD) calls them out on it. They are not customer oriented and stand behind arbitrary policies regardless of customer relationship, spend or experience. They had no posture of desire to work with us or have this conversation effectively today. They use "this is what we charge everyone" a lot - just because it's what you do to every unwitting customer that reaches out for help - doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. read more

I had been working with Alpine Aire for some time. It seemed that each time that I worked with the company there was always a problem. The pricing was disingenuous, the cost of my unit turned to out be way higher than what their "3 system selection" purported when it was all said and done. The company was doing a repair in the winter (of course) when the heat went out. They attempted to do a fix to the system that didn't work and then when that didn't work they sold me an entirely new system. I ended up having to pay in full for the repair that didn't work and the system but by then it was too late to up and decide to go somewhere else. Last year I had Alpine Air come out and service my split system units at another property. The guy who they sent really didn't know how to do the repair of my system so together we watched a repair video on Youtube that showed us how to repair the system. We then set about repairing each of the 3 unit split systems together. The worker jokingly said, "You should get half the money for this repair." I said, "No duh." Cut to this year Alpine Aire gave me an appointment for between 1 and 3. Which worked for me. They called the day prior to say, "Can we come earlier at like 10 am." I said, "Probably not, but if I can arrange that I will let you know." I never called them back to accept the earlier appointment. They showed up at 10 am anyway. I was dealing with a family emergency (a death in the family) and couldn't communicate with them at that time. They apparently, in a state of confusion may have not even gone to my property address and instead went to the Icicle Inn (which is close to the name of my place but is a large hotel in stead of a vacation rental. So in essence, they showed up at the wrong place at the wrong time and then were seemingly upset with me that I wasn't able to answer their phone calls regarding how lose they were. I tried to work with Tom, the former owner, and now manager on this. He basically said the following: We can't find good workers. We are short staffed. Our worker went out there this am with his arm in a sling and while working also cut his leg and is now in the ER getting stitches. (He sounds like the least lucky employee I've ever heard of.) We think you should hire somebody else. We can't keep up with our promises or responsibilities. I had to pay the guest staying 75 dollars to be gone for the day so the men could work. He was unwilling to make up for that even though his worker botched the location and the show time. Very frustrating experience. Do not use Alpine Aire, due to their employee issues they cannot be up to the task at this time. And their ownership has zero remorse. Calling them is phone tree hell. Even their hold music is distorted and awful and they have an answering service taking calls mid afternoon on a work day and you know how frustrating that is in the midst of a crisis when your AC is fritzing and it's 95 out. Just an awful experience through and through. They grew too much too fast and now they can't keep up. read more

Although the new motor he installed in our split-system made the same noise, he committed to getting the problem resolved. I have had Alpine Aire service my HVAC system for 4 years twice a year. When the HVAC stopped working, because a loose wire they found, caused by their service, they still wanted to bill me for the repair, and then it didnt work after 24 hours, and they came back out and said the wires were crossed. and they fixed that. they billed me for the second visit. Tom, their ex owner, said they cant back their employees work and that the bills stand. I have dropped their service. Also this took over 45 days to get it to work properly, from their mistakes. The best employee for this company is the receptionist. I called and emailed their parent company, and no response. Moving on. read more

The qualify of their techs has gone down hill. They did a PM and took a working system and left it not working. They don't check to see if everything is working before they leave. We had a 20 year old HVAC system we knew was not long for the world. In the winter, it suddenly stopped working and AA was quick to come out and get it functional again. In the summer we made plans to replace the unit and AA's quote came in thousands under any other companies. Actually getting AA out to install the unit was a bit of drama, and the install was delayed a few weeks but they made good and gave us a discount for the trouble. Everyone i dealt with was courteous. Masks were worn at all times and booties when they were in our place. read more

We have a twice yearly HVAC system maintenance plan. We receive priority scheduling and discount on parts--it has paid for itself by keeping our system operating for the past 20 years. With these unusual times, both of us being 60-70+ and one of us Diabetic/Asthmatic, we chose to have Alpine Aire clean our ducts as well as the system maintenance. Both technicians were polite, clean, and efficient. Alpine Aire contacted us and advised our scheduled afternoon appointment could be moved up (yeah!). We installed an Air Scrubber 3 years ago--wonderful piece of equipment connected to the furnace. You can watch a U-Tube Video of how it works. We added the sanitizer to our duct cleaning, as well as having the dryer vent cleaned (which had a lot of built up lint from dryer to outside vent). Having this cleaning and maintenance done, gives us piece of mind. We have total confidence in recommending Alpine Aire! read more

Our Alpine representative was Alvaro. He was right on time, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. We've had difficulty with our gas fireplace for over a year, and could not get an accurate answer to the problem from the people we previously paid for service. When we heard that Alpine Aire also serviced fire places we called right away. Alvaro arrived on time and within 30 minutes he had the fireplace working! Do not use Alpine Aire. They are unethical and overcharge. They told us we needed a whole new unit at the cost of $10,000 for a house that was built 7 years ago. Alpine Aire did the original installation. We received a second opinion and had it fixed for $240. We made an attempt to compromise on their original service bill that was $216 just to tell us "we needed a new unit" and they were unwilling to offer any sort of courtesy or compromise. I recently had a technician come out and inspect my system because it was not cooling. Making an appointment was easy and the people at their office were great so they get 2 stars for that. I was not there during the inspection so I spoke with the technician on the phone about what needed to be done. It was somewhat difficult to get actual details on what he did other than the compressor was bad. After finally getting to what he found we spoke on what it would cost to replace the compressor. The technician told me that they would have to order the compressor and it was going to be roughly 2-3 thousand dollars plus labor. I asked how long it would take to do this job and he said it would take 6 hours. That got me doubting whether or not he was trying to just gauge my responses/questions and figure out how much money he could get away with quoting me. 6 hours to change a compressor in a home is not reasonable at all. He said that if he did not use up all 6 hours to do the installation, that it would fail in less than a month and I would have to buy another compressor. He then tried telling me it would be better to just replace the entire system and that a compressor is just 1/3rd of that cost...so I asked if $6000 would be a safe estimate and he agreed...by this point I wanted to get a second opinion and just paid the invoice. I called Keen, had them come out and it was a bad compressor but their price for a new system was almost half of what Alpine was telling me. Of course I went with Keen and just replaced the unit. We have had a bad experience with the installation of our HVAC system in a newly built home. When the techs come out numerous times (4) they are not completely prepared with all the parts and seemed to be in a hurry to leave. 1. The heat pump was delivered with a ding in it and the fins are being pushed on by the indentation. When asked for them to come out and replace it they insisted our excavation workers had done it but they had not even worked that Thursday-Sunday. 2. They forgot to put a complete vent in the laundry room and had to come back and do it. 3. After numerous calls and techs coming out we are still missing one heat register and another needs to be replaced as it won't open. We would not advice doing business with Alpine Aire Heating and Cooling! We do not feel like they are ethical in the way they treat their customers. read more

Alpine Aire's service techs are professional and nice, but the company is overpriced and disorganized. If you decide to use this company, be sure you get *everything* in writing. Record who you talk to and what the outcomes of the conversations are. Double check with them on equipment they install to be sure it matches what they said they'd install. You might have better luck if you look around the Valley - even to Quincy or Moses Lake and find another company. read more

I called Alpine Air in Wenatchee and 3 other Heating and Air conditioning companies for a quote on a new air conditioner. My air conditioner was older and not working. Long story short. They quoted me on replacing parts which added up to thousands and that was sent to me by mail. I had the other quotes for replacing my air con same day. 6000 to 13000. Alpine on the other hand sent me a bill and along with that bill a quote for additional parts and labor to get the air conditioner running. NOT sure where the mix up started but it took several phone calls to get a quote on replacing the air con and then I gave up on them. Did not pay the bill. I agree with Marie D. Keep track of every detail about your dealings with this company. They mix up the details. Be very clear with the technician as to what you want and expect. It was not worth my effort to have several phone calls with Alpine. Maybe they have so much business in this Valley they can't get the details right. Obviously, I went with another company because when you buy an expensive system like this you will have an ongoing relationship with the company that installs the system especially if you buy their maintenance agreement. In good conscience could not consider this company. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Agree 100% with Janice D. Similar experience. Had Alpine Aire out to trouble shoot a wiring issue at the recommendation of the thermostat manufacturer. Alpine said they would send the expert with my thermostat and 20 years experience . Ended up sending a rookie 2 weeks on the job and one that had never seen my type of thermostat. The guy was actually looking up youtube videos on how to repair this thermostat. lol. After 2 visits my system still wasn't working correctly. Called to report the system wasn't working again and Alpine said they would come out no charge but ended up billing for an issue they caused in visit 1 or 2. Either way the owner Tom Ross is a complete condescending jerk. Alpine doesn't listen very well. read more

I have had both a home heat pump replaced and a large commercial project done by alpine air' .both jobs were priced best and done on time. the heat pump on my house I was told by another company I would need a whole new hvac system for $12000. alpine did the heat pump only for $3500. based on my experience I have recommended alpine to many business and personal associates. all have had good experience with alpine air.so today I will call them on a furnace problem. read more
