Father's Day dinner was a huge success. We went to Myron's in New Braunfels to celebrate. I made a reservation and they immediately sat us down upon entering. Excellent, fast service from the start. Our waiter made several suggestions but I decided to get a nice traditional ribeye with asparagus. It's definitely one of the better steaks I've had this year so far. There was a nice, flavorful crust on the outside of the steak and center was cooked in exactly how I ordered it. My husband and I chose Myron's Prime Steakhouse to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. We've lived in New Braunfels for eight years and had always heard great things, so we were genuinely excited to finally try it. Unfortunately, the experience was a major disappointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment we arrived, the service felt underwhelming. The greeting was lackluster, with very little warmth or enthusiasm, and we were seated next to the kitchen and restrooms, not exactly the atmosphere we had hoped for on such a special occasion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Throughout the evening, the waitstaff seemed disengaged and offered very little interaction beyond the basics. The tuna appetizer was fine, but it ended up being the best part of the meal. My husband ordered the Wagyu strip steak, and it was extremely disappointing. It was tough, gristly, improperly cooked, and lacked the rich flavor you would expect from a quality steak. In fact, it had an almost unpleasant taste. Management was kind enough to remove the inedible steak from the bill. I ordered the filet and shrimp. The filet was okay, but certainly not memorable and nowhere near what I expected from a restaurant with this reputation and price point. The shrimp were even more disappointing--just three boiled shrimp with no real flavor other than the butter poured over them. Honestly, I've had better steak and shrimp combinations at chain restaurants such as Longhorn steakhouse - not the comparison expected when spending 2-3x the price. We also ordered the scalloped potatoes, which were simply awful. They were dry, bland, and had a strange dusty taste that made them difficult to enjoy. For a restaurant that positions itself as a premier steakhouse, this was a surprisingly poor experience. What should have been a memorable anniversary dinner turned into a meal that left us frustrated and disappointed. Between the lackluster service, poor seating, and disappointing food, we left wondering how this restaurant earned its reputation. Sadly, I can't recommend Myron's based on our experience, and we won't be returning. read more

Went on 2/11 with by boyfriend to have an early valentine's date, we had reservations for 6:00pm, we got there and were sited. Water, bread and butter came out. The bread was dry as if it was old. I ordered a French Onion soup and my better half order a Cesar salad with garlic ranch (too much garlic) We ordered the special, 8 oz fillet with scallops and 8oz fillet, mashed potatoes and stuffed tomatoes with Gorgonzola cheese. The fillets had a wired consistency and no flavor. My went back because I didn't care for it and the scallops were stringy as if it was crab meat and chewy. Basically the date meal was not top notch. I will not be eating here again. Told the manager on the way out and just offered an apology. If it was me I would have provided a make it right suggestion to have us retry the restaurant. We came to Myron's to celebrate my birthday on a family trip to New Braunfels. The food was absolutely amazing, comparable to some of my favorite steakhouses in Houston. Our waiter Steven Nichols was great, very attentive and very welcoming. Our steaks were so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The sides were great as well especially the huge portion of truffle shoestring fries. They brought me a slice of the chocolate cake to celebrate my birthday and it was super moist and so good. We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Myron's this weekend. Upon arrival, our first stop was the bar where we enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When our table was ready, we were escorted to our private booth in the heart of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiters were awesome and very helpful with selections and recommendations. I have dined here at least 3 times since moving to New Braunfels. I purposely held off on a review to ensure my thoughts are balanced and fair. However.... on my third/recent visit with my wife for dinner, the service was great. However, the food was mediocre at best (I am being kind.) For the $360+ cost of dinner, everything should be FANTASTIC. It wasn't. My wife's salmon was undercooked. When mentioned, they took the plate and cooked it some more vs getting her a fresh piece of fish and COOKING it correctly. Why the waiter picked to re-serve the dish was very disappointing and very subpar for the high price of dining here. I just paid $300 total between 2 people for steaks that were so dry. Took an hour and a half to get our entree and then it was just so bland and dry. Even the side of potatoes were dry and cold when brought to the table. I really enjoyed my birthday dinner and server was phenomenal. The ambiance is very romantic with the low soft lighting. For starters, hubby and I had the Soup du Jour (I forgot what it was called) and the French onion soup. The Soup du Jour was delicious! It was like a spicy and creamy chicken tortilla soup with jalapeño. The French onion soup was good too and very cheesy on top. We also had the "salad". I'm not a big fan of ice berg wedge salads. There isn't much nutritional value in it. I would have preferred a mixed greens or arugula salad to come with the meal. For our entree we both had the mixed grill that comes with the filet, stuffed quail, shrimp and fried tomato. I really enjoyed this dish! You get the best of everything and the stuffed quail was so yummy. For complimentary birthday dessert I had the cheesecake. It was just a tad bit on the dry side but tasted good. We celebrated a 10 year anniversary at Myron's Steakhouse. It was our first time there and we were not disappointed. Our server Xavier was amazing. He made sure to let us know that the sides were plenty enough for both of us (no need to each order the same side). And I could get a smaller version of the salad of choice (which was still huge)! Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Very pricy though. Filet mignon was perfect so no complaints here. I am a foodie so I diagnose everything I eat. The crème anglaise stumped me because it had a "eggnog" taste to it. Like nutmeg was an added ingredient. Not what I was hoping for. It also had a gelatinous texture which I found unappealing. Our server was great - he apparently worked his way up from bus person, server assistant to server. Great promotion model so the servers know their product. Will definitely be back! read more

Since Myron's is the only high-end steakhouse in New Braunfels, it attracts patrons by default. To be fair, three observations: (1) The host and hostess didn't great us, smile, or anything when we arrived. Seemed like were inconveniencing or interrupting them. (2) The steak were ordered medium and they were served rare (raw might be more accurate). We had to send them back for warming. Finally, (3) the server was super friendly and attentive. Went for an anniversary dinner. My salmon only was surface cooked. Broccoli au gratin was basically cheesy slush. Got a free dessert but couldn't tell what it was. Cross between cake and pudding but tasted like Hershey's chocolate syrup. Mind you this was a $300+ meal. I remembered after the meal that last year when we visited this establishment, the waiter asked how I wanted my salmon cooked. This is not a sushi restaurant, so please COOK the fish. My bf and I went here a couple months back for dinner on a Saturday night. The parking is not great but I did like we had the convenience to make reservations. Service was okay and kind of slow so we were not extremely happy with that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Another issue is the entire restaurant was a little humid or the AC was not properly working. Other guest were also complaining about this.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our drinks were also not good at all. I asked for a virgin mojito and it tasted like lime with sparkling water with no flavor at all. Food did take a while to come out and for the prices we paid we expected it to be better. Steaks were okay. I had filet mignon and it didn't have great flavor. Bf had ribeye and it was better than mine but overall nothing spectacular. So overall not a great experience! We most likely will not return. read more

I chose Myron's because it seemed like the nicest restaurant in the area & I was very correct! We had martinis for appetizers and I really enjoyed the raspberry martini, don't let the color fool you it had an amazing raspberry flavor. I got the 16 oz ribeye and I can truly say it was the best steak I've ever had in my life. We shared sides and I loooved the jalapeño Mac & cheese it had a very fresh taste to it. The server surprised us with a crème brûlée for our anniversary a very sweet surprise! Myron's was very romantic and honestly cheaper than what I thought I would truly give it 3 $ instead of 4. My husband and I have celebrated our last four anniversaries here and up until this night (May 14), it was a perfect place. For the first time, our steak was underdone (we ordered medium and it was medium-rare). My plate was whisked away while I was still not quite done (since I was very close and he had already reached for it, I let it go). The steaks came out in a pool of butter and im assuming that's what they call seasoning. Even just a little salt would have helped everything. My girlfriend treated me to a birthday dinner here and it was fantastic! Our server was excellent, but I forgot her name. The fried goat cheese was delicious albeit slightly hard to spread given its crispy crust and the crispy crackers served beside it, but delicious nonetheless. We shared the 12 oz filet and were super happy with that choice, ordered it medium and it was nice and pink the way we like it. The side of scalloped potatoes were flavorful and creamy but we were getting full so had to get a to-go box. For dessert we chose the crème brûlée which was phenomenal at all. Went to Myron's for our anniversary. Service was excellent. Food? Not so much. Dropped over $240 for two people (we appreciated the complimentary anniversary desert and the filet was very good). However, the shrimp (ordered it blackened - it wasn't) was tasteless and mushy. Scalloped potatoes had this weird cheese on top - almost like blue cheese. Asparagus was hardly seasoned. While the booths are a tad cramped for 4 adults (especially with all the plates of sides with your entrees). The side we chose was the broiled tomatoes. It was too strong, especially with the hollandaise and bearnaise that came with our steak. But that was probably not the best choice of a side on our part. It pains me to leave this review, but here we go. My wife and I have had some great meals at Myron's over the years. The meal we had Thursday May 2nd, 2024 was, not so good. First off, our waitress, Amanda was a real pro. Very professional, a pleasure. None of the following was her fault. My remoulade shrimp cocktail, room temperature, mushy shrimp, albeit large, but soaked in enough remoulade sauce and bean sprouts to feed the Russian army. Not particularly appetizing. As for the steaks. My wife had the 12 Oz filet, rare. It was rare, but not particularly tasty. Granted tenderloin is the lest flavorful part of the cow, but the seasoning and searing was, well, non-existent. It was tender. That's the best I can say. As for my steak, the 45-day dry aged NY strip, cooked rare. It was rare. At lest they got that right. As for the steak it was as tough as a boot. Absolutely no marble. And a fair amount of gristle. The steak looked as though it had been baked in a 350º oven, beige colored, and absolutely no searing or maillard effect whatsoever. Totally tasteless. Totally unacceptable for a supposed dry aged prime ( I assume.Granted, they never said it was prime) $75 steak. Probably one of the worst steaks I have ever had in a fine restaurant. I left half of the steak and took it home for the next day. When I took it out of the carton it had that same sick beige look and when I sliced it, no marbling whatsoever. Tough and tasteless. And finally the stuffed tomatoes. Look at their website, the stuffed tomatoes look like what Julia Child would prepare. Well seasoned bread crumb stuffed and seared tomatoes. These were stuffed with gobs of bleu cheese. And a tiny sprinkling of tasteless bread crumbs. NOT what's pictured on the website. The bleu cheese was overpowering to say the least. Took one bite, took them home and tossed them in the trash. I like bleu cheese, but enough is enough. We will be back. Probably order escargot and seared scallops. That's what I have had before. Always great. Fingers crossed. read more

My husband and I go here for every birthday and anniversary. The chateaubriand is to die for. Medium rare perfection. Love the wedge salad. Their blue cheese dressing is so good that I won't get it anywhere else because it disappoints. Every side is great. Last night we had the jalapeño Mac. My favorite desert is the cheesecake with mixed berry sauce, my husband generally picks the Crème Brûlée. Usually we have our favorite Reisling, but last night we did cocktails. So good! It is pricy, but always perfection. I brought home two slices of the steak and will have the best salad today! read more
