I find it difficult to understand the complaints against Mike and the way he runs his dealership. I have purchased three cars off of him over the years and every single time it was without any hassle or problem in anyway whatsoever! He sells beautiful cars at good prices, high end cars with low miles that are difficult to locate, and gets things done fast. Mike, you knowingly sold me a car that was a certifiable, barely-drivable piece of shit. Over the course of the year that I have owned the car, I had to spend upwards of $7,000 to keep it in a serviceable, drivable state. The valve cover went within two months of ownership, then the whole of the radiator system had to be replaced. Every bit of trim in the car's interior was cobbled together with either JB Weld or crazy glue, and it only became apparent after I began making attempts to repair the car after it had taken to leaking after every rain storm. Perhaps the most egregious, insufferable part of the car's endless list of complications was the car's EWS module - a seemingly unfixable problem that prevents the car's engine from starting. Mike, you conned me something fierce, and I hope you find solace in knowing that you sold me a fucking lemon. To the readers; stay the fuck away from this enterprise. read more

Mike was very rude and unhelpful when I called to inquire about what vehicles he had for sale. Honestly, he sounded bothered. Many of the vehicles he has for sale are overpriced as well. He does have some pretty cool inventory, though, hence the two star rating instead of one. read more

I called to make an appointment to see a Maserati he had listed for sale and we were trying to come to a time that worked for both of us. I felt rushed the entire time, he told me "why don't you call back when you know you're free." I continued to speak to him and had a few questions about the car. He told me "I've been in this business a long time, look I'm not selling Toyotas." No, Mike, you're not selling Toyotas, you're selling used cars so get off your high horse. Mike the owner, is rude and condescending. Telling people you don't negotiate on price and you don't let people test drive a vehicle unless they know they want to buy it is rediculous. Its the most rediculous thing ive ever heard when buying a car. You could have had me as a loyal customer if you didn't speak to me with a sarcastic and typical used car salesman type attitude. I will second some of the reviews that specifically speak to Mike's demeanor and attitude. Lets start with the fact that this guy runs his business by appointment only. Fine, whatever. Asked if he's available "around 4" on a Friday afternoon and get a yes. Show up just after 3:30 and it was a problem. Not that there was anyone in his used car dealership, he was just jammed with taking pictures while the sun was still up. I'd rather look at a car when the sun is up, but I guess that's just me. I was going to walk out when he said he was going to be completely jammed up for the next half hour but then he gave me the key to the car I came to look at. Went outside, started it up. Ran super rough for several minutes. My wife decided to mention this right away to which I had to hear a rant about Mike selling more Audi's than anyone and that every car made has this problem in the cold and that it's the secondary air pump. Yea yea. Well, Audi's are known for those pumps going and also having issues with various vacuum lines, etc., but never mind that. The super rough idle went down after a few minutes, but the car still shimmied quite a bit. Went to put the top down and he told me not to do that. A nice spiel about hydraulics and temperature and that I should check the manual, it will be in there. Well, I assume Audi would know whether or not the viscosity of whatever hydraulic fluid they use is appropriate with a certain percentage deviation away from the 32F below which they recommend not putting the top down... so since it was above 32F I'd be following the owner's manual recommendation. Not worth it for me, this is a 3rd car that's probably going to be driven less than 2000 miles a year. Guy treats you like you know nothing and he's the Audi king while we came in our loaded 2017 Q7. So we're beyond seconding the other reviews about Mike being rude. I'll note that Mike said no one drives convertibles under 55 degrees. He then specifically noted 40 degrees regarding mechanics. After reading this review he felt the need to sarcastically call me to "thank [you] for that nice review [you] left me." Basically confirms the type of used car salesman he is. Went on to say something about 32F in the manual ... yep, it was above that temp Mike. Good job. Amazed that customers leave this guy good reviews, he clearly has no idea how to treat customers. read more

Great place to purchase a car. I bought my first car from there after a horrible experience elsewhere which concluded in them refunding my down payment. I went to Alpine and the owner knew how eager I was to leave a down payment on an Acura of his, it was the perfect price and right in my budget. He allowed me to sign for the car without having the full down payment. I was finally refunded and I was able to place a full down payment and drive off with the car. Buyers Beware! Listen to the reviews. Mike is curt, unfriendly, rude, and overall not a good salesperson. My experience: for starters Mike had hid the cost of a vehicle I was interested in online, so I called and found out that it was due to it being well over book value (even after the fact that he listed the Kelly Blue Book value on the ad itself...). I decided I still really liked the vehicle and opted to check with my credit union for a loan... and was turned down because it was way too overpriced. I brought this up with Mike and asked if he could bring the price down to at least the high end of fair pricing to make the loan happen, and was promptly told that I, the consumer, had "wasted his time," that he refuses to lower the price to make the sale happen, and then proceeded to tell me to just "put more money down." In a follow up email, he told me everything was my fault, and ranted on how amazing he is at sales... I wouldn't buy a wash cloth from this person! read more

Purchased a 2002 jeep from Alpine motors in wantagh, in 12k miles the rear end blew, the airbag blew, calipers blew, radiator blew, tie rods blew and the list goes on. The dealer contacted me after a post i left and proceeded to send 27 emails back and forth only to find no help and that the dealer Alpine Motors voided the 2 year bumper to bumper warranty I purchased for $1500. As we spoke I found the dealer was buying time so he can void the warranty, which he did. I questioned if the mileage was incorrect because these things do not happen with a jeep that had 61k miles. All the while emailing he called the warranty company "UAL" and had them void the original $1200 covered (not including the rear end which blew 2 months prior). read more

We bought a Sky from Mike at Alpine Motors. We contacted him based on a car advertised on the internet. After talking to him we decided to purchase the car. He requested us to directly send the funds to his bank. He informed us that he would schedule transport. He stated that it would be to us in 5 to 7 days. We purchased the car on 7/23/2018. The delivery dates have changed 3 times and as of 8/6/2018 we still do not have our car. They are now saying it will be here 8/11/2018..... if it really arrives! I contacted Mike and he said he has no control over the shipper even though he contracted with someone who contracted the delivery. If he has no control, then who does? He stated that I had no control because I did not contract the delivery. He also stated that he did not have time to discuss this any longer because it is Monday and he is busy. I tried to contact the driver but he won't answer his phone and his voicemail is full. Texting also does no good as he will not respond. I really do not know where the car is located. The last time I heard the car was sitting someplace in Virginia. I know this car only cost $13,000.00 and is probably on the lower end of what Mike sells but we paid top dollar for it. If I had known how unprofessional this was going to be handled I would have contracted transport myself. read more

I bought a car here last August. I waited several months to put in a review just in case the wheels fell off or the engine seized up. Neither happened. Car is still great. Prior to purchase Mike, the owner, didn't pull any used car dealer bait-and-switch games. The price was the price. He didn't try to pull any last minute add-on nonsense prior to the sale. I appreciated that. Shortly after purchase one of the directional lights wasn't working right and they had to get the exact bulb required. I have read all the reviews about Alpine Motor's and the owner Michael and I must say too many have it all wrong! I have been a customer of Alpine for the past seven years and have purchased a total of five cars off of Michael personally. First, he possess high end cars of great quality with low miles; takes his time to search the country for what he knows people will appreciate. He also lists them at a decent price. As far as him having an attitude, my friends, when you walk into a car dealership people always complain that the salesman never leaves them alone, follows them around, tried to convince them to take this deal or that deal. At Alpine Motors Michael does not do that at all. He lets customers go in and out of any car they want, lets them test drive any car they want, and never sweats anyone, just allows them to walk around at their leisure.
