Brought truck in telling them there was fluid in my driveway. They claimed they tested it thoroughly and found nothing. Several weeks later extended warranty expires. Truck was overheating this weekend. I brought it in to another shop and was told the radiator hoses are shot and need replacing. Radiator fluid is low and leaking. Hassett service is the worst. Don't waste your money on an extended warranty with these crooks. Those five star reviews that are being left by "customers" should be taken with a grain of salt. read more

So. My 2020 F150 had some serious electrical issues. It was so bad that I couldn't drive the truck because the drivers seat would move on it's own while I was driving. The service center took me in quickly as an emergency situation. I was grateful because i use it for so many situations where I couldn't use a regular car. The guys worked on my truck for 15 days going through all of the electrical system. Had to remove so many panels to get to it all but they didn't give up. They reached out to me through the process and were able to figure it out thankfully. I just finished my second lease with Hassett Ford. Thru these two leases all in all it was a good experience. I loved my salesman Rich Parisi. After my second lease Hassett reached out to me as this lease was coming to an end. They were nice as could be. Once I informed them due to personal reasons I would not be leasing or buying for a couple of months I was no longer of any interest to them. Spending time out of state I had a very small window to return my lease. I reached out to the dealership before 3 pm on a rainy Sunday. The salesman Steve said they were swamped and way too busy. I told him I had no other choice. He told me call when I was 20 minutes away which I did. He started with how busy they were. I was at Wantagh Parkway and Ocean Parkway. I arrived in under 15 minutes walked into the dealership and it was like a ghost town. I stood at desk for a couple of minutes and then was asked could I be helped. I said I was looking for Steve , all I hear is his voice from behind an office partition wall. Not one customer in the store. So another associate helped me with a smile on his face. He asked me where the car was I said out front. I asked if should I come with you he said no he was just going to pull it in the back and take the plates off it. I was on my way in 15 minutes. I reached out to General manager about this and never got a reply. The I receive a bill for $1900.00. I agreed with everything on bill except for a dent on fe3nder and on door. These were never there. Spoke to Ford Credit I was told to ask Manager can he pull video of car being brought around back. I reached out once again now with this issue and once again never heard back from manager. I guess they think I will just pay and go away. I am a journalist and I gave Hassett Ford a chance to reply. Laughed my ass off looking at reviews for this Wantagh location. I believe any good reviews were probably placed by there own staff. Doesn't matter how many years you deal with them, and it don't matter how many cars you purchased. Called on May 6th for car repair, and was told no loaner car would be available. Also the earliest I can come in for repair on a car that we purchased with a 5 year factory warranty would be Mat 23rd. This is so ridiculous... do yourself a favor go anywhere else!!! read more

I would not even give them one star. They make you wait months for a loaner. They said they "fixed" my problem (noise went away) and when the problem came back, they replaced a part. There was a noise right afterwards and it turned out the part was defective. Now, the problem (or similar one) is back and a new issue as well and they refuse to service the car. That is AFTER they made and CONFIRMED an appointment with me-almost a week before. They also do not return calls when they say they will and generally are impossible to deal with. I brought my mothers car in there with a copy of the Technical Service Bulletin that Subaru issued to all of their dealers stating that the transmission warrantee was to be extended for the torque converter solenoid valve as it was a known issue. First they tried selling me a throttle body cleaning for $600.00 which is absurd. I explained to them that I was having issues as described in their own service bulletin, and they refused to honor the warrantee to inspect the transmission for the known issue. They told me it could be ten other things that would cost $2,000.00 or more before they would even look at the transmission because "you can't jump to C before you do A and B". C is in the technical service bulletin as a known issue. Why do I need to replace parts to see if it fixes the problem when I have something in writing from Subaru stating what the problem is? Absolute scam. They don't want to do the warrantee work because they only get paid what it's worth from Subaru to do it and they can't charge $600.00 to spray throttle body cleaner into the throttle body. I am contacting corporate to try and find a dealership that will honor their own technical service bulletin issued in writing by Subaru. They even told me that the TSB would be covered under warrantee but they needed to do $2,000.00 worth of work to see if that fixes the issue before they even look at the actual problem. I feel for my mother. Nobody but a dealership will touch the transmission so she's screwed unless corporate steps in. I would never buy a Subaru after dealing with these people. I hate knowing that the dealership is lying and just trying to make money off of you and having no way to do anything about it. read more

I had been looking for a used Lincoln Continental and the dealership I had dealt with for 3 lincoln vehicle purchases had none to sell. So I widened the search knowing that many dealerships are masters of deception and kill you with fees. searching the internet I found a '17 continental with low miles and an excellent price. Hassett of Wantaugh had the carfax for the car on the sales site which is an excellent reference provided by the seller. They also had a disclaimer that they don't play the hidden fee game which was also a huge bonus to consider. I dealt with salesman Larry Merola who was excellent. We were able to conduct much of the necessary sales requirements over the internet. This included getting a ballpark figure for my trade-in. This was essential as a previous dealer tried to lowball the trade-in to an insulting amount causing me to walk away. The dealership was a 2.5 hour ride through miserable traffic so I didn't want to show up and be lowballed on the trade. Larry Merola was up front and honest about the trade-in possibilities and so I came in to buy and sell. Just as he predicted I got a fair price on the trade-in and we went forward with the sale. I even purchased an extended warranty which was a warranty from Ford and not some third party company that never covers whatever breaks down on your car. Kept me there an absurd amount of time. I gave them a deposit to hold a car that I declined on purchasing less than 24 hours later. I had very good experiences with my previous salesman Fred Silverman from Hassel Ford I want to warn people about the manager Timothy Coppola. Basically I received a email from Timothy basically asking us what we wanted to do with the lease. The reason we had to deal with Timothy now is because Fred is no longer with dealership. The lease was due on Tuesday so i returned it on Tuesday morning at 10am as per instuctions on the email. When we came back for return we were instructed that we had to make appointment for the return and needless to say I was very annoyed the way we were treated. read more

A waste of time and money with Ford service department at Hassett I brought my car in early October because the engine coolant light was on, the check engine light was on, and my car was having trouble starting when I got gas. I knew that you typically pay more for service at the dealership but this was an ongoing issue that I wanted corrected by people who are familiar with the brand. I made an appointment far in advance online for a Saturday. My car sat there and was not looked at until Monday. I do not understand why they make appointments if they cannot get to the car the day you schedule. They said it was an issue with the vapor management system and all was fixed. It cost $692 after a 10% off coupon I had. About a month and a half later my engine coolant light came back on. I looked under the hood and the engine coolant was almost completely empty. This was on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I called them and explained the situation and they said they could look at it on Monday. On Monday we dropped it off in the morning. They never got back to me so I called them in the early evening. They wanted to keep it over night to check for a leak. On Tuesday they advised to change the water pump and heater hoses for $1350. I explained that I did not want them to do the work as I brought the car in a month earlier for the same issue so it was either improperly diagnosed or fixed. They decided to be kind and bring their repair price to $900. I asked the service representative that I was dealing with to please have the manager call me so I could explain the terrible experience I had getting my car serviced there. The manager never called. This was even after I asked a second time when they called to let me know my car was ready to pick up. This seems to be something the managers do regularly based on other reviews I have seen. read more

Worst service dept. Leased a Ford Edge, and the first year couldn't reverse. I had to wait 3 weeks for an appt. No loaner car available. I went a month without a car. Three times the AC/heating system went along with the power windows. Had to wait to get an appt. each time. Once I waited extra for a loaner car so I wouldn't be without a car again. Obviously I got a lemon, so wouldn't it be considerate of them to try to fix my car quickly? I wrote to corporate, but since the dealers are independently owned, they don't seem to care.
