When we arrived at this hotel and saw the true condition of the property, we asked for a refund but they refused to give us one. This property is in severe disrepair and some of these issues are safety concerns. *See photos 1. Door is a sliding glass door that barely locks 2. Path to back side rooms is uneven sloping toward the river and moves like it might break soon 3. There is exposed insulation shoved around air conditioner units and bent covers on other A/C units 4. Stairs to the back side rooms are crumbling , including the railing 5. Air vents are filthy It was super disappointing to see the state of this place and be forced to either lose two nights of money or stay here. We would not stay here ever again. Ok I must admit I did no research before booking a room here and once I read the reviews I was kind of dreading my stay but am pretty happy to say the outcome wasn't bad at all. From the outside, it definitely looks more like a motel than a hotel, but the inside really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. We paid about $180 total for a river-facing room, and the view was honestly beautiful. Unfortunately, we encountered a lot of wildfire smoke during our stay, so we weren't able to enjoy it as much as we would have liked, but obviously that had nothing to do with the hotel. The room and bathroom were both clean, which was my biggest concern after reading the reviews. Everything is definitely a little outdated, and there was a bit of that "old-building" smell when we first walked in, but it wasn't so bad that it felt suppressive or overwhelming, and I'm really sensitive to smells so I genuinely mean that lol. For one night, I didn't need anything fancy. I was also pleasantly surprised by the hot water, it stayed hot long enough for 2 showers. My only real complaint about the room was that there were a few tiny stains on the linens. Nothing that made me feel like the room was dirty overall, but also not something you really want to see on your bed. I also felt that the railing on the deck was really weak, so if you have children I'd definitely be a little careful there. It felt like most of the guests seemed to be families, which did make me feel pretty safe and comfortable staying here. I also liked being able to park right outside my room so I could have easy access to my car. One other thing worth mentioning is that the ice machine was loud. Our room was right next to it, so it was hard to ignore, although obviously that's more of a room-location issue. I was super thankful that they offered a continental breakfast in the morning. It wasn't anything fancy, but having something to grab before heading out was definitely appreciated. Do I think I'd stay here again? Meh, probably not. I'll most likely spring for the Hampton Inn which isn't too far. But overall I definitely don't think this place was as bad as some of the horror story reviews make it out to be. read more

Very simple ask on my part and Katie was more than cheerful and willing to assist over the phone. I asked because there's always bad luck following me being assigned rooms below inconsiderate humans that STOMP AND DRAG FURNITURE at 630am. Came into town after a very long travel day and was looking forward to a top floor since I don't stomp around like an elephant at 630am. Katie was at the desk when I checked in, even mentioned the request and said the rooms were filled. I don't understand. Did the 12 upstairs spots all have specific requests from all 12 guests? I'm baffled. I don't get it. Luckily the hotel in Moses Lake that's next up I already have room 218 assigned so I'll be the considerate one and the guests below me won't know I exist AT 630 IN THE MORNING!!! It's a nice little inn right next to a river. The price was fairly cheap compared to the other hotel options closer to the city center. And it's still within walking distance! Keep in mind that the inn and much of the furniture is on the older end. However, the room was clean and everything worked properly. Only problems with our room was that the faucet in the sink and bathtub had a small leak so it was slowly dripping the whole time. The staff was friendly and while we weren't allowed to check in early, they did hold on to our luggage while we explored the city. Complimentary breakfast is always a plus. The food isn't anything special but it's enough to get you through the morning. We booked our room towards the end of winter so the pool was closed but we did see a family of marmots scurrying about nearby! For 13 years, we have vacationed at the Alpine in early August for about a week. My friend, my nieces, and I rent three rooms and have really enjoyed our stay. However, it seems that the prices have gone up every year - and that's understandable - but the services and integrity of the motel have gone down hill. There is no longer access to the river from the motel. We just left on Friday, August 8th, and before we left, we made note of the things that have changed: no hot tub, inferior breakfast, pool towels are smaller, the toilet paper is so poor that it dissolves when it encounters moisture. The pool was not cleaned once by staff (that we saw) but was cleaned/skimmed several times per day by guests (including my niece). The exterior area outside the pool is covered with black tarp (very unattractive). The pool itself has no lounge chairs, a broken bench, and six or so straight back plastic chairs. There are two little tables only. Last summer when I was there, I tripped carrying my pool bag from one side to the other, bloodied up my knee, and accordingly did not go into the pool for the remainder of my vacation (two and one-half days). There is simply no room at the east end of the pool to walk safely with the pool cover all rolled up and taking up so much space. Just FYI, the staff had nothing but a band aide to offer me in the way of first aide. One huge issue for me - I always have rented Rooms 100 and 102 because they have an adjoining door between them. This way, my nieces and I can go back and forth with no trouble. As my health is waning, I really counted on that benefit. The staff said that that was not available to us. No legitimate reason was given; no reason at all to prevent them from providing a key to the door. It occurs to me that someone may have been too lazy to search for it. This year, however, and last year, the ice machine is working. There were several years it was not. Your motel is in a beautiful setting and attracts many many guests. However, we will not be staying there again for the reason stated above. I don't expect a response from you but it would be nice if you would acknowledge receipt of my letter. We are visiting Leavenworth for a few days to absorb some Bavarian atmosphere and we end up in a Chevy Chase movie... After an 11 hour drive that was only supposed to be 8 hours, we arrive at 7pm due to highway delays. The Old Town that we came specifically for had multiple road barriers thrown up, effectively eliminating driving or any hope of finding a parking space close enough to walk around. Had we known this beforehand we obviously would have looked for lodging in town instead of on the riverbank. The room is small and cozy. As we walk in the wife asks if I brought my screwdriver so I can fix the front door. The latch was coming out. The bathroom is fairly small, then you feel obliged to clean the toothpaste spittle off of the mirror frame from the previous guest. The beds are comfy enough but a bit concave. It is a very peaceful forested locale as well. There is a dresser, ironing board and a covey to hang clothes in. Good for those of us who like to unpack! The room boasts a small patio deck, a mini fridge, microwave, TV and a Keurig coffee maker. So I guess all in all, we're okay. read more

DON'T BOOK HERE!! They'll leave you stranded at night with no open reception and no access to your reserved room, while charging you for the pleasure. If I could give it zero stars I would. Alpine will take your money without any actual physical checking at the hotel, but then close down early in off season (before 8pm as listed on their site AND confirmation email), and leave you without a place to stay. This is, of course, just as it's getting dark and you're far from home. In my case, I was a single female traveling alone, left with no place to stay. NOT okay. I arrived at 5:30pm (5:30!!!!!! That is NOT late for a hotel) during March Break. The confirmation email said I had to arrive by 8pm. I arrived to a dark hotel, reception shut down, and no access to my CONFIRMED RESERVATION, already CHARGED TO MY CARD. Thankfully, I found another hotel locally, and went back the next morning to figure out what happened. The lady at reception faked pleasant and polite and asked me to email the managers to figure things out. I did - twice - but never heard back. I disputed the charge, and only THEN did Alpine see fit to get active... by disputing back and blocking my refund. Absolutely absurd. My advice: Book at the Hampton Inn & Suites down on the main road - they're much, much more professional and reliable. read more

Had an interesting stay in Leavenworth. I usually stay in town but decided to stay a bit farther away considering it was the autumn leaf festival and didn't want to be near too much commotion. Check-in was short and to-the-point. It seemed like the man at the front desk wasn't up for much small talk or excited to tell us about the area. The woman who checked us out, however, was animated and very sweet. Pros - The view of the water was beautiful and we even saw a deer in the morning! - Room was clean and didn't find anything weird or questionable. Some of the towels had makeup-looking stains on them that weren't fully bleached out but it was still clean. There was a couple spiders but that's normal in a wooden area. - Breakfast had a handful of grab-and-go options for you to take back to your room but I would've preferred being downstairs. Though it was closed due to covid despite no one masking in the building. Cons - The stopper in the bathroom sink was jammed and water didn't go down. We asked every day out of the 3 days, 2 nights we were there if they could fix it. They said they would send someone and no one ever came. It felt weird to be acknowledged then forgotten. I eventually took the stopper out (by using my shampoo edge to lift it out since it was jammed in there very tightly) and put it to the side since I wasn't sure what else to do. - Air conditioner/heater was finicky. When we got inside, the air conditioning made the room super cold so we set it to a few degrees higher. A few minutes later, it smelled weird and then the fire alarm went off which was strange. Assumed it's an old AC/Heater. - The only blankets are one huge, thick comforter per bed. No sheets on the bed. I would've liked having sheets since this comforter was way too hot. First, to be positive, the room was nice, clean and updated. The view from our balcony was beautiful and we even saw a bear lumbering along the River one morning. The downside, this is a poorly maintained place (exterior) and most, not all, of their personnel have no or little personality. When we checked in the guy that checked us in was acting as if we a bother to him, to the point of almost being rude. My wife asked for extra coffee and that seemed to cause home great harm. To top off our stay, we were waiting for relatives to arrive prior to checking out. At 11:03 am we received a call from the front desk asking if we would be out soon. 11:03, really? The cleaning staff didn't have other rooms to do besides ours? I would definitely stay elsewhere! These people are thief's. I went on their website to book a room for the following day. When I went to book I clicked the back arrow to look at something and it changed my date to the current date. Not realizing it, I booked a room. I noticed my mistake and called them immediately and explained what had happened, thinking like most any other hotel they would just switch my date to the following day. (It was not busy season and they had plenty of rooms available) They told me no immediately so I asked to speak with the manager. They refused to get on the phone and said email us explaining what happened and they would fix it. I sent several emails asking for a response, nothing. So I called again and they said sorry too bad no cancellations in 72 hours. Tried to dispute the charge, they denied it. I had to cancel my trip. I can see if I held a room for a day or more but 5 minutes and then not even work with me. They don't care about the customers they just care about taking people's money. I should have read the reviews anyway it sounds like a dump. read more

I had a wonderful time here. Great view of the river. Room was clean, and worked perfectly for an overnight stay. Easy walking distance from downtown. We were able to grab drinks and food. We came back and ate on the patio. Because of Covid the hot tub and pool are closed. No public restrooms either. This place is falsley advertised on the website. Rooms do not look like the photos. We stayed here for one night in September. We booked the family. After seeing the website we were looking forward to a comfortable room, the pool/hot tub, and the breakfast. The building is old. Really old. The porch leading to our room felt like it was going to collapse. The room had furniture and appliances that were decades old, and a fridge that runs all night. Our beds did not have top sheets on them. We found them in the closet and put them on ourselves. The pool and hot tub were so dingy that we didn't even use them. Pretty sure no one has in a long while. The breakfast consisted of nutrigrain bars and was a far cry from the full breakfast advertised. All in all our visit was terrible. We spent as much time as possible outside of the room. This place is straight out of one of those hotel horror films. Hasnt been updated in decades, no actual breakfast, rude staff, light bulbs didnt work in the room, the balcony was actually LEANING at a 10 degree angle. read more

Do not book at this location and try one of the neighboring hotels instead. Awful customer service and have no regard for public safety. We had reservations booked thru booking.com and we got a severe snow storm that shut down the roads in the Portland area. They don't treat the roads here in Portland so when it snows the entire city shuts down. They closed down I-84 due to a 100-car pileup on the highway because of weather conditions. I called the hotel 48 hours in advance to our check-in time and they said due to their cancellation policy of 72 hours they would have to charge my card. I emailed them all the news articles that made national headline that the highways and roads were closed by us and they still would not oblige and refund me for the reservation. They instead wanted me to risk my family's lives and make the drive. I followed up several times via phone and email and nothing. My in laws were staying that same weekend at Icicle Village Resort in 2 rooms and they were very understanding and canceled their reservations no problem. Their cancellation policy should not apply in this case. I own a business and we had to reschedule patients and we of course did not charge a cancellation fee because of weather- it's common sense. read more

We would not recommend this hotel. The staff were cooperative when the room door did not operate because someone had not replaced the battery. They needed to call in an off location repair person to fix it (about 30-35 min.) Then the TV that evening did not work, and the desk agent was very nice, but together it took us another 30-35 min. to get it operational. The next morning it was not working again. The manager said she would try to get us a discount, but that never happened. The room was large, but carpets need to be replaced thru out the premises. I guess they got new mattresses for the rooms which is nice but to just leave your trash in the parking lot? We rolled up to the lobby and got our room keys, the gal at the front counter lets me know that the price I booked the room for is wrong because hotels.com won't let them charge for extra personnel, even though we booked the room for 5 on hotels.com. So they charged us an extra fee. I tried to argue but she let me know that if I didn't want to agree they wouldn't refund me anything. Ugh, great start. They do have a complimentary breakfast, it's meh. The pool is ummm pretty small to describe it nicely. The rooms are clean but kinda dated, and the view is spectacular in the back. If you leave your back door open you'll get the sound of that river going and it really is quite nice. Only one seat back there though, we had to drag a chair from inside the room out there so we could enjoy it. Really the only reason this place got two stars is because of that view and the lovely noise of that river. With the shady extra fee this place really just deserves one star. They know there really aren't very much cheaper options in town so they can just act as shady as they want, they'll still get your money. After that hidden charge they were just as expensive as a much nicer place closer to downtown where we wanted to stay. We thought we were saving money but ended up spending just as much... quite frankly if there was a dude in the parking lot who just robbed me of $50 as soon as I showed up, I would have felt better than how they went about things. read more

Here's your top 5: 1. If you book a room, make sure to get the river view. I came here Christmas Eve and it had just snowed the day before. The icicles from the balcony and the beautiful snow resting on the trees was jaw dropping. The view was great. 2. Unfortunately, the breakfast department was lacking. The food looked very processed and not fresh. They had eggs and bacon but it didn't look appetizing. Breakfast is included in the price but after seeing the breakfast, I rather it was not included in the price. 3. Prime location, walking distance to everything you need to do on the main Street. 4. Friendly customer service. They provide complementary coffee at the office which was greatly appreciated. They allowed us to check in early, which when it happens is always a plus. 5. The bed was decent and the amenities were standard. Wifi was good enough to stream Netflix so that's good enough in my book. The room was pricey ~280 for one night, but that was because we booked it Christmas Eve at the last second. I was just hoping for better amenities and breakfast at that price range. read more

We really wanted to like this place as it was helping us make our vacation a bit more affordable and the location is amazing. However, we found that the room was dirty and we could hardly sleep from the irritation in our throat. As we looked around the room in the morning we noticed that the place had BLACK MOLD on the balcony. We talked to the office and they did not act alarmed or surprised and they said they will work on the refund for us. We had to follow up with them a few times to confirm they will refund and still nothing. Also provided feedback to Hotwire on this recently since we purchased through them so we will see if they will do something. The best part about this place is the view from the balcony. The beds were also very comfortable. Only a half a mile from the heart of Leavenworth. Advice....whatever you do, don't try to check in before 4. We arrived at 3:50 thinking the room would be ready. The gentleman working the front desk told another gal and myself that they were busy and check-in is 4. I said, "I figured with only ten minutes to spare before check-in that the rooms would be ready." He said, "They aren't and you are welcome to stay somewhere else." Huh. What a greeting from the manager, owner, front desk guy...whoever he was. So we stood outside the office for 10 minutes and then miraculously the rooms were available for check-in exactly 10 minutes later. There's no need to be a jerk to your paying guests. read more

The hotel is clean with a beautiful river view and walking to downtown. Staff is super friendly. 3 days prior, the amount of my weekend stay was held on my credit card. I understand, but I was not notified. When we checked in, we put the full stay ($260) on my husbands credit card. That evening, we noticed a $530 charge on his cc. We asked the very nice night front desk staff. He said that they have been getting that complaint recently. It is the decision of the owner and should hopefully be refunded in a few days. The thing that makes me give 1 star is because I left my ID and asthma inhaler in the room on top of the dresser and realized 5 mins after we checked out so I called. They offered me to come look. The maid had already cleaned the room and surprise she "didn't see it". I searched through all my things and the garbage and nothing. Second time staying here. We walked to downtown (about 10-15 minute walk away) and had a blast. The beds are comfy, and listening to the river outside on our private deck was great. Breakfast was really good, and the staff was very nice. The added bonus is the family of marmots that live on the property in their burrow. I love staying here! read more

The plus side- Water pressure is perfect! Beds are comfy! Tv is new! Staff is friendly, breakfast was adequate and plentiful. Their breakfast room offers a beautiful view of the river and mountain. They provided us with a portable crib. That was nice! Thanks! They also provided us with a bottle of cider for my husband bday. Thanks again! The down side- Outdated exterior and decor, could benefit from new carpet, limited pet rooms. I had to keep unplugging the (older) keruig machine, to use the microwave... they didn't have a splitter??? For the cost of the room?!? The balcony isn't very child or small dog friendly. And the lighting is in the rooms was fairly dark for my taste. And the crib while a nice gesture, again outdated. The bottle of cider while perfect for a celebration... fell short when we went to use the glasses provided, and found that each one of them was visibly very dirty. And the breakfast room was beautiful, but if it's a full house it's a bit tight to walk around with people trying to grab food and drinks, coming and going etc. Overall: for the price I paid for two rooms that were somewhat able to adjoin. (Minus a door knob) I felt like I was paying for a view and that was about it. I won't be coming back here again. They should reconsider what they charge per night. read more

To begin with the staff is absolutely FANTASTIC, they worked with us for a last minute change for a 2 night stay. I know they are horribly under staffed, because when we got to our room we discovered no top sheet just the duve cover over the bottom sheet can we just say it GROSS. The duve it's self has seen better days as well. If I had my sewing kit with me I would have fixed the ripped up corner and the torn panels myself. The picturesque view of the amazing river is clouded by many months of fingers prints, nose art and grim. The continental breakfast is very simple coffee hot water for tea and instant Oatmeal, prepackaged muffins? No frest fruit come on people you're in the heart of PRODUCE HEAVEN. You know apples, apricots, pears, cherries, any of this ringing a bell? Yes the photos are just a few surprises I unearthed while flipping the cutions.
