I will say the views of Lake Louise from the restaurant are quite lovely. We were seated inside and it was cozy and comfortable. Customer service was excellent, our server, Joe was absolutely wonderful. Joe was very friendly and was able to help us out with our questions, deciding on entrees to order and he checked in occasionally during our lunch. The lunch menu has a fair amount of options for starters and entrees. I was curious about the pasta dish, but thought the cost was a bit high. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and caesar salad (which is made at your table) and it was good. I was not a fan of the seasoning of the chicken but the salad was great. My mom had ordered the fish and chips and was impressed with the portions and the texture and flavor. She enjoyed her entree along with a french onion soup. We also split a key lime tart, which was a good balance of sweet and tart. Overall, a great meal and dining experience. I'd recommend visiting Lakeview Lounge if you're interested in enjoying a delicious, memorable meal with scenic views.

The AAA Alberta beef was incredibly tender and juicy. Alberta really knows its beef! The chicken was unfortunately a bit dry, but the Caesar salad definitely made up for it. I haven't changed my review for the Fairmont. But I am writing this update as a warning to anyone…read morewho purchases flavorite latés from here. When I came in the Summer of 2025, I noticed they use the 1883 Lavender syrup from France. Sounds fancy right? But it actually doesn't use any actual lavender syrup; the flavor is all artificial. It also contains Red 40 which has already been known to be a mutagen for 20+ years BEFORE, before RFK. My syrup had developed a microbial (bacterial most likely) biofilm and growths within the syrup. My syrup still has 6 months before the expiration date. If the syrup is being used quickly, then maybe it isn't a problem, but I don't think lavender is a super popular flavor. So if you're at the Fairmont, check the bottles of syrup flavorings before you order, especially if it is the 1883 brand. Also, if you're staying at the Fairmont Hotel...why don't they just make lavender simple syrup in the kitchen? You mean to tell me this fancy hotel can't afford to make simple syrup? It tastes better too.

Apparently it's been snowing heavily and due to the heavy snowfall, the hotel could not put up the rink until it would stop snowing. Lots of people were hanging out on the lake. The hotel had ice sculptures and an ice bar. I saw a few horse drawn carriages as well. They had a well lit tunnel. Their lobby was decorated with Christmas trees and garlands. For the afternoon tea, I got the Egyptian chamomile tea. It had sweet elements to it and was considered a flavored tea. I did try it with sugar and milk. Although it didn't taste bad, I prefer to have my tea without anything. The tea itself was good enough for me. In addition to the tea, my meal came with a glass of prosecco. For the food, I got their basic menu which comes with 4 varieties of cake, 2 pastries, 3 sandwiches, a croissant and deviled egg. They offer different foods as well depending on your dietary needs. They have seafood, vegetarian, kids menu and I believe gluten free as well. Wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. My waiter was so kind and helpful. My view from my table was beautiful. I plan on coming back again.

He knew what to recommend and had lots of tidbits to share for new tourists. The hostess (I cannot remember her name but she speaks Spanish as well) helped us get a great table and was also super helpful. The food was good. The bread and butter was an unexpected standout. I had the duck confit. Nicely cooked (though just a tiny bit more than I'd like but still pretty darn good) and my mom loved the scallops. Beautiful sauces and mixes of flavors. Highly recommend. Wish I hadn't been too full to enjoy the gorgeous desserts we saw pass by.

However a hotel the class of Fairmont should have some excellent offers even though your a captive audience. The Fairview Bar and Restaurant has all the makings of a 4 star restaurant, but they fall short on a few levels. After we were seated it took 6-8 minutes before someone acknowledged our presence and they said someone would be right with us. Another 5 minutes later a server came over and took our drink order, which took another 8-10 minutes to be served. Our server was fairly familiar with the wine list and make a couple of recommendations, both were over $200 a bottle, after telling her our expectations were in the $125-$30 range she made a couple of selections we went with. Portion sizes were not commensurate with the price point for the entrees. Two small Elk medallions were serve with a slight slice of bone for the marrow, and the vegetables; the plate was very nice looking as you can see in the photo. The bison filet appeared to be about 4-5 Oz. and wasn't very tender. Not impressed with the actual food, but the presentations were very nice. We had lunch at the Lakeview Restaurant and very satisfied with food, portions and service. I wouldn't return to the Fairview, but would go to the Lakeview instead.
