This place is located on the West side of 59th Ave just North of Bell Rd. There are other photos of the inside and menus with prices. It is fairly small, about 3 booths and some other tables. The day we went they were a little short staffed. They had the one guy taking orders and doing the cooking. Not sure if that is the way it normally is but it did slow things down. If you are taking out, you should probably order ahead before you get there. The food was really good. The gyro and the falafel (see photos) were excellent. I also tried the Philly chicken (see photo) but that was a little bland. I should have gone with the Shawarma. The gyro was definitely worth it. The cilantro jalapeño hummus was a good variation. Babaghanouj was a good serving size.

Got takeout but definitely will be back to dine in - they have a bunch of old photos and Chicago decor on the walls and it smelt AMAZING inside. Love the vibes! The portion of the combo plates is definitely enough for two full meals which I love! Their gyro meat is so flavorful! I wish hummus came with the plate but the small side was around $3 so not bad. The hummus was relatively bland but I think you can order different flavors and we just got the traditional so I will definitely try the other flavor next time! Loved all the other sauces that were included & the rice was delicious! The two people that were working there were very pleasant when we ordered and picked up our food as well.

This is menu item #1. For starters, the place is really clean and well kept. The customer service is phenomenal. I've had Gyros all over Glendale, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and central Phoenix area; this is by far the best tasting place. You really do get more than you pay for. Most places are either really expensive $14-17 a gyro combo and don't give you a lot of meat. Al's is very generous with their meat portions and for only $11 you get the full combo. The toppings/dressing are on the bottom. The French fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Seriously you need to try it here.

Clean, dated interior, tables worn. SALAD WITH CHICKEN had great flavor. the dressing was perfect, too many fried "pita croutons" for me. HUMMUS WITH GRILLED VEGGIES was disappointing. The vegetables were previously frozen and tasted like it. Fresh green pepper and onion, but they overcooked because the frozen stuff had to cook longer and were much larger pieces. The HUMMUS was so smooth and was well presented on the plate. Needed, lemon, garlic, and salt. The SERVICE they took and served my order. I did not see them other then that?? I won't be back. Grilled chicken was very tasty. I feel like fresh grilled vegetables would've turned the whole thing around.

Wow, excellent taste! Felt like having something healthier. So undecided to stop by and get a gyros, after looking at their full menu, I decided to go for a Greek Chicken salad. Could not have made a better choice. I had to have some carbs so I also ordered a pizza puff. Must say that the chicken is tender, moist and delicious! The sales was an excellent compliment. They have great food and good prices! The guy that works the counter is very friendly and is constantly hoping back and forth to help the kitchen but never leaves customers waiting. A very admirable work ethic that is lost amongst many. The booths need some love as the fabric is coming apart on most of them but otherwise is a perfect hole in the wall restaurant worthy of going out of the way for. read more

.Meh. Gyros are like any other as it's the same meat from the same supplier. Everything else was just... Off. The Shwarma tasted like it had been marinated in clove oil. Pita was stale, rubbery, and showed every sign of being microwaved. How this place rates a 4.5 star rating totally escapes me. Maybe I happened by on a day when the supervisor was out and a lazy chef was on duty. Huge disappointment, as it looked promising. read more

I've passed by this place so many times and always wanted to try it. I'm so glad I finally did! I got a gyro combo, and it was sooo good! The gyro was packed full of delicious lamb & had the perfect amount of taziki and onion and tomato. The fries were even delicious! Definitely going to be a new go-to spot when i'm craving a gyro. read more

Took well over an hour which I was fine with, but then notified my driver had picked up the food took this guy almost 30 to drive 4 miles. I got the food it was ice cold and wing got a salad never ordered a salad, paid for a dessert never got it they said the rice salad cooked with tomatoes and onions 1 thin slice of old tomato cut in half and maybe 6 slivers of onion... never again read more

Order ubereats, and the food was okay. I did the fish and chips, and I also ordered the Chicago dog and also a Greek salad. Everything was just okay, not bad what I did like was the prices so if your price hunting down a decent restaurant this might be the choice for you. Again it wasn't bad, but just not outstanding which would make me give it a 4 5 stars, the hummus had no flavor so beware and do not order that. Fail! So I have been wanting a chicken gyro since yesterday. I was pressed for time so I just ate at home and saved' some money. Today instead of driving to Pita Kabob I went. to Al's because it's closer and to be honest I just didn't feel like driving. Mistake, I was looking forward to a chicken gyro with some delicious tzatziki sauce but what I got was pink garlic sauce. WTF man???? Thier gyro was overloaded with meat, I mean just falling apart so I thought I would have enough to share with my dog. Not the case today the meat was miniscule not very well seasoned at all :(. Love, love, love this place! Best in the area. Had gyros the other night and went back again the next day to sample their combo Italian beef and sausage with perfectly grilled peppers and onions. A definite hole-in-the-wall! It's like a mom-and-pop's place that makes the best gyros and shawarma plates in town! You can try anything on their menu and never go wrong. Their lentil soup is the best one I've had, and same goes with their baklava. From main dishes to desserts, everything is A+! The owners are also super nice and friendly. This is my favorite place to get a gyro. I would say it is the best gyro in Phoenix. The service is amazing and the team that works there is always so nice. The gentleman behind the counter is so friendly and always greets you with a smile. Als also has a menu that is very reasonably priced. My wife and i drive about 16 miles here for lunch once a week so we can eat there. You can not go wrong stopping in and eating. read more

Not being dramatic at all, but I am the pickiest eater, I find something wrong with anything I order from restaurants. Al's is the only place that has the most amazing food, they have never gotten my order wrong, they have the best service. Everything on the menu is perfect. I am not one to try new things. However with all the amazing reviews I figured why not. If it I didn't see these reviews I would have never tried it. The #1 Gryo is so tasty and the fries there omg they are melt in your mouth. I can say there fries are the best I have ever had. Definitely my new favorite food place. Oh man, this place is soooooo good! Nice mom n, pop shop with reasonable prices and you can taste the thought and love they put into their food! I moved here from Cali and was so hard to find a good gyros place. I stopped by here and oh man I will continue to keep coming. People that work here are very very nice. Food was amazing as well. So the daily special is only on weekdays which means they need to change their false advertisement. I wanted to get a 3 meat plate (that item is listed on their website but not on their actual menu). They did not have falafels which sucked. This is one of those places where you need to call in advance to make sure they have their items in stock. The best part about my meal was that it came with a lot of food; which is what I'd expect for a $28.64 meal. It came with rice, hummus, salad, and bunch of fries. Unfortunately, the best parts of the meal were the rice and gyros. The two beef options weren't that great. Although the platter constituted two separate meals for me, it just wasn't fantastic at all. Floors weren't properly cleaned either.

I'm of two minds about Al's Gyros. I'd been visiting regularly and was consistently impressed by the incredible steak schwarma and top-tier garlic sauce. However, my recent experiences have been marred by inconsistent service. The male manager is exceptionally kind, always greets me with a smile, and generously offers a military discount without hesitation. On the other hand, the female staff member who's often at the register bluntly says "no" to that. When I ask for extra garlic sauce, he's happy to provide it, while she insists on charging extra and does so with a noticeable lack of warmth. It's a coin toss every time I visit - will I get his friendly, welcoming service or her cold, unfriendly treatment? Despite the excellent food, the inconsistent service has dropped my rating to 3 stars, and I'm probably not going back anytime soon. read more

The food is wonderful they have a special going on throughout the rest of December offering $4.99 gyro combo special which includes one side and a soda pop!!! There meat is in gracious amounts almost enough for two people. Kitchen is the cleanest kitchen I've ever seen. Staff is very friendly from my understanding is almost all family run!
