Best burger in town. get the green river to drink! When your food is done they pound on the window, it's old school and it's awesome!

Parking can be a challenge but banging on the window to tell you your order is ready cracks me up. Food is good even though it's pricey. Onion rings are top of the line and my hen loved to eat the humdinger burger. She enjoyed going there and would get so excited when she saw where she was going and cry out when she knew the order was ready before the lady would bang on the window. As part of her bucket list I took her there on my way to the coast, she hadn't been eating and could not walk. I sat my burger by her and she ate the whole thing. Ordered 2 bacon burgers, fish and chips, 2 shakes. Order was done, only 1 burger. Waited for the 2nd one....got home, the fish & chips are burned, very small amount of fries, no fry sauce. Rude. Overpriced & disappointed. I went into this place at 8pm on August 31st for my first time. I ordered a deluxe burger and fries. I paid almost $5 for a burger that came out to be so tiny that it didn't even fill me up. So much for " Deluxe". I am not a big person at all. I am a 5'2" little girl that weights 120 pounds. I also paid for fries but I think they forgot to put the rest of the fries in the tray. And to top it off I hear a loud ( I mean loud. Like the window was going to break) bang on the window and a lady that pointed at me and started yelling at me when I clearly could not hear what she is saying when I'm outside and she is inside. Once we got to the window we realized our food was ready but they told us they would take it out to our car. Then, the lady who gave me my food with a dirty look on her face said "HERE", tossed my food on the counter without saying anything nice. I've eaten at Humdinger three times my husband thinks their hamburgers are the best I could not eat it but I have a problem with hamburger anyway but I have had twice halibut is very dry not worth a penny and I just ate a steak sandwich and it was on a hamburger bun which was terrible and the onion rings were burned I will never go back there again unless it's just for an ice cream something they don't have to cook and mess up it was awful not worth the money at all it's cheap but the quality is cheap read more

So I moved back to the area after 20 plus years and was disappointed with humdinger of 2019 vs.1998 the onion rings were miniscule only got 5 rings and the dipping sauce containers are so small you can't possibly dip into them while the burger had the same great taste I was sadly disappointed with the rest of the meal the shake was also disappointing as I remembered the shake of my past being loaded with cunks that clogged your straw...no longer and it was thin....shame on humdinger for ruining my reunion I'll go to grizzly den next time..... read more

It's 8pm, not super familiar with the area, yelp directed us to Al's Hum Dinger. Much better than a common fast-food joint, but the burgers were super-sloppy, I know that will turn some of you on, so take the information as you will. Bacon was thick and cooked perfectly, beef was overshadowed by mayo and mustard IMO. Im fairly new to the west coast and have tried burgers from all the most popular places in Seattle and have ALWAYS been let down. I was not sure there was a single great burger in town until Five Guys started opening (an east coast favorite). Fast forward to a road trip to Ocean Shores and a lunch break in the Aberdeen area. We popped up yelp and saw the crazy ratings for Al's and just had to try it out. Needless to say we were totally blown away! Not only was it the best burger in the Aberdeen/Hoquiam area, but I would say the best in the state and the better than most on the East Coast. Its hard to make a 5 hour (total) road trip just for a burger but I have almost done it a few times. I can say though we will never go within 30 miles of Al's without stopping there. read more

2.5 Stars - Wait was long, staff seemed overwhelmed and weren't very nice. I had a couple questions about the menu and the lady was pretty short with me. The burgers we had were very tough and over cooked. The fries were good and Chocolate shake was pretty good. No recycle and they still use styrofoam cups (boo!). Real glad we stopped here. Boyfriend got the halibut and chips which were DELICIOUS and affordable (probably the most expensive thing at $10). Quality was very good & the coleslaw was delicious. I got a veggie burger (which shocked the heck out of me) and it was delicious ($5). Def a small dive burger joint. Fry sauce was pretty good. Standard crinkle fries (although we could have subbed them out for gizzards). Peanut shake was AMAZING. I was pretty hungry when we stopped through here & I was sad when the food was gone. Serving: Famously good milk shakes and ice cream, hot dogs, burgers, chicken, Pepsi products. Very amazing burgers, fries, fry sauce, shakes and ice cream. If you love a good old fashioned burger joint that knows how to make seriously awesome food, this is it. I've lived in the area for 14 years and visited longer than that and never heard a bad comment about their food. Just down the road a little further west is the Grizzly Den, they also have good food, better fries (the seasoned waffle fries) but Hum-Dinger's burgers and fry sauce are the best. There is no indoor seating, only two picnic tables outside which are usually not used due to our weather, and less than 10 parking spaces so it can get crowded on a nice day at lunch time. If that is the case I go to Grizzly Den which is a little more expensive but never a disappointment. The Hum-Dinger parking lot is also extremely small and awkward to access from the main road because it sits right at a strange intersection on a very busy highway. As for being "wayyyyyy over priced" that has got to be a joke. read more

I've been a local life long fan for 30+ years, and you cannot mistake the smell of Hum Dinger food. Came through Hoquiam last weekend and just had to have a malted blackberry milkshake, but once I stopped in I couldn't leave without a steak sandwich, some onion rings and some fry sauce. The sandwich was cooked perfectly, but I should have asked for some ketchup and cheese on it. Nevertheless it was tasty. And the onion rings were perfect too, especially paired with the fry sauce. Mmm mm mm... They also make the best shakes here, I always get a blackberry malted, but I've heard others get something akin to a smores shake... definitely worth looking into... It may be hard to get to(either crossing traffic as you go South on 101 or having to drive through all the other tasty choices in Aberdeen and Hoquiam), but it's well worth the wait... read more

Found this place literally by accident. It's a nice little local business that have a variety of everything from burgers to fish 'n chips to chicken gizzards. The burgers are obviously their specialty. Average priced for a nice sized burger. Just make sure you ask questions about your burger though. I ordered a cheeseburger thinking it had the works, but it was actually a burger with cheese and condiments. I can't hold that against them though. The burger I had was good. It's completely take out food. No indoor seating, which is fine, except the day that we discovered this gem it was pouring rain! We ended up eating in the which was fine also. This is the best hamburger joint on the harbor,in my opinion. Buttered toasted buns on the grill and the best meat patties and all the fixings you can handle and some french fries and that yummy sauce for dipping. I've been going to Al's Hum Dinger since I was a little kid and it really hasn't changed much. Hum-Dinger has been around forever and it's because they consistently provide some of the best burgers around. I've tried nearly everything on their menu, from burgers to ice cream, and I've never been disappointed. Their soft-serve ice cream is amazing, and they always have a featured flavor that compliments the season. Their Green River Floats are also a hit because you can't find Green River soda anywhere anymore! They've also recently added these blizzard-type ice cream treats that are listed on a small menu inside (I think they're called Polar Freeze), and they are BOMB! My recommendation for lunch is their classic Humdinger burger! I'd recommend it to anyone who loves a burger with all the fixin's! If you try this burger without one component, it won't be as good! So if you're not picky, the Humdinger burger is for you! Be sure to grab some extra napkins though, as it can be pretty messy! Their corn dogs are also super delicious... and cheap!
