Stopped there today. First time ever. Sign said homemade ice cream - vanilla only. I was really dubious, because they had a soft serve machine. My wife ordered a chocolate sundae. I ordered a walnut shake. It was fabulous. It really did taste like home ice cream. I used to make it - for many years, and the flavor and consistency was just like I always liked it. If you are traveling down 101 this is the best place to stop and eat. They are so sweet and friendly and food is fresh and delicious!

Ate here and won't go back, so dirty, got sick, had a burger and soup. When you go in they have a five foot menu at the counter so you pick your food then sit down and waitress comes gets your order. Guess they don't know covid is over. Everywhere is caked with yuk like the chairs at the counter between metal and vinyl is yuk floors are yuk I swear it's never had deep clean. We've stopped in on the way to the coast just to get their baked potato! One time, we were wondering what was taking longer than usual. When our baked potatoes arrived, our waitress apologized for the wait - they were out of bacon and had to cook some so we'd have bacon on our baked potatoes! The shakes are amazing! Chocolate & peanut butter never disappoints. They had some really great teenage girls working there when we've stopped in. Family place. Yes, the decor is dated. After driving past this place for years, I finally looked it up in Yelp; wow great reviews!...But still, the opportunity didnt present itself until a recent trip during of all things, the COVID19 crises. While waiting at the bridge stoplight in Montesano, I looked up their menu online and decided to order ahead - after a few rings a friendly voice took my order for a cheeseburger basket with bacon; "no milkshake?" she offered, ooooooo how I love a good milkshake, but, no not today (I to have to try that homemade ice cream) - 10-15 min she says. She also volunteers that they are OPEN for dine-in. Timing was about perfect for the drive from Montesano. I drive in, yes, I see a big window labeled drive thru, but being uncomfortable i pull in to park, the window flies open, "order for Bill?" "Yep". I pay, about $15 after tax, i added a full 20% tip. Burger and generous serving of fries packed in nice earth-friendly box (yay!), burger wrapped in foil. Its hefty; nice homemade patty heaped with all the goodies, lettuce, tomato, dill pickles. I felt like I got my serving of veggies with it! I love it. Its also juicy and oozing, so make sure you gotta towel or napkins if you're eating on the go. The unseasoned fries needed salt, they did include a couple packets of salt and lots of pepper packets (which i didnt need). The hand-cut fries were a bit disappointing. While they appeared done, there was no crispy-ness and pretty soft. Burger was really good, i thought $15 maybe a bit on the high side. I am a fan, a solid 4 star. I'll come back, see if we can get to 5 here. read more

Clark's is one of those places that has been around forever and is as much about the nostalgia as the actual food and ice cream. It is a "dive" in the best way. The ice cream is legendary and everyone has a favorite shake. Mine is peanut butter, daughters is banana, and so on. The burgers are fresh pressed with crispy edges, not frozen patties, and the fries are fresh cut, so don't expect thin or crispy. They are often busy, and it's not fast food, so don't expect it to be. We often sit at the table off to the side where there is bowl of water for our dogs. They bring our order out the back door and check on us as needed. There is also outdoor seating in front, stools at the counter inside, and tables. It's busy because it's worth the stop. read more

Went there last year for my first time and it was the best burger I've had to this day. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered gluten free burger buns. I really enjoy the little side trip to this place, brings back lots of childhood memories, but key thing for me is the food. Best cheeseburger, fries, & banana malt milkshake. It was just over an hour before they closed & very slow but by time I finished my meal it started to pick up a little. The homemade ice cream sign pulled us in. I got raspberry and my friend got vanilla and both were fantastic! I also got mozzarella sticks that were phenomenal. The cheese was almost velvety soft and the crunch was so satisfying. They have a jukebox you can use for free which we totally took advantage of. There's a sign posted that says something along the lines of "the 11th commandment, you shall not swear in Clarks". Very wholesome family friendly spot. My wife and I drive past Clarks Restaurant 20-30 times a year on our way to the Oregon coast. After yelping it and seeing great ratings, today was finally the day to check it out! Greeted by a friendly young waitress, she announced I could sit wherever I pleased since I was the only customer present. I chose the counter and she then informed me I can't go wrong here as they have homemade ice cream, great burgers and home cut fries, with that I was sold. Upon the recommendation, I ordered the deluxe cheeseburger basket (included the entire garden of crunchy pickles, fresh iceberg lettuce and sweet sliced tomatoes,) slathered in a special sauce and sided with those piping hot & humongus home cut fries and must add, I could not have enjoyed a better lunch anywhere! After consuming a belly buster meal, I am looking forward to my next visit and trying their chili burger because after having their cheeseburger, I have a strong feeling that it will be fresh, fantastic and right up there with my best ever! The service area and restrooms were cozy, clean and inviting. Food was top notch, service was friendly and attentive. If you are hungry, do yourself a favor and check out Clarks! Nothing super special about the food, but it is delicious. Then to make it better they serve home made icecream. Of course we had to order that too.. I had a disappointing experience. I'm from out of town and my family raved about this place. The service was not up to par. We asked for extra glasses. Never got any. Had to walk up and ask someone else. I got my food quickly. The server never brought me water with my food. The burger was great. The fries were hard and under done. The milkshake was very good.
