She didn't care that I had the tech conversation with me on our Ring cam that proves what I'm saying: "I get what you're saying, but it's not what he put on the paper!" I said, "So how come every time a tech comes out here, they lie about what they told me, seeing as it's happened each time?" Her reply was, "I don't know! I'll have to have a talk with them when they come in." I said, "Well, it's getting cold; we have barely any oil and don't want to put oil into the tank, seeing as he told me it would Contaminate it an not work properly! She didn't care, so I went, "Maybe I should have another company come out and look at the tank." She went, "You should, because we no longer want to work with you, and I'll let community action know. I'll email them." I said, "Okay, that's fine," then hung up! They are nothing but rude and never write down what they do on these service calls! I'd stay away! You guys are the worst oil company and so rude. Tammy is beyond rude and makes no sense. Seeing Tammy said it goes by what they wrote, not what they say in person, even though it's on my Ring camera. But we already found a new amazing oil company that doesn't play games and is honest and respectful, unlike your company. Tammy needs a new job, not to tell me she can't go off what I said, even though it happened in front of my Ring camera. None of your techs write accurate notes. So I will let everyone I know to never use your company unless they enjoy rude customer service where you get yelled at! When it was time for the installation of the heaters, we had the privilege of being assigned Ryan, Nick and Pat for our home. These 3 young men were wonderful. Al'S Oil Service - My fancy heater installed. - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

We've owned our home since 12/2000, and it still had the original oil burner working fine to heat the house. When we sought heating assistance, it was recommended that the boiler be replaced due to it's age and inefficiency. Though I was reluctant (why "fix" something that isn't broken), I agreed to the replacement, which Al's Oil was tasked with doing back in 04/2021. Fast forward to this past weekend, a solder/weld joint between copper piping for the new heating system is failing, with water leaking and getting worse from one day to the next. When I reached out to Al's Oil, an unidentified female representative advised they only give a 1-year warranty on the work they provide, so this would not be covered under warranty, and they would not come out for it at this time since I'm not a customer of theirs and are taking care of customers with no heat altogether. So for 20+ years before they replaced the boiler, I never had a problem with it at all, and now just four years after they replace it, I'm having problems caused by what I consider their faulty workmanship. I would highly recommend never using ALs Oil Service ever. Recently, I experienced a issue with my AC unit and a technician showed up on a hot Friday afternoon right before a holiday weekend and it became obvious that fixing a AC unit was not in the cards with dealing with that day. I was told after removing one panel off the unit that there was mice damage and the unit was not fixable unless I wanted to get into replacing a lot of the parts and it would be more cost beneficial to replace the whole unit at this point. With that being said I asked for a quote and was told unfortunately due to the holiday weekend I would have to call the office Tuesday morning for the estimate. So with that being said I called the office and was greeted by a rude receptionist as many people indicated in reviews. She told me the service manager who handles that wasn't in until 10am call back then. So I waited until 11am and called again. Same receptionist and same rude attitude. He didn't do it yet call back later. Now being rather frustrated I started to call some contacts and was able to find another HVAC company to see if they could be of assistance. (HVAC Experts talk to Justin). They said they will be out that day within a few hours as soon as they finished up the job they were at. In the meantime I received a call back from ALs and was told they need to send a technician by to take pictures to complete the quote and asked if someone was home which I was. The technician pulled up and I was outside with HVAC Experts who removed the same panel and took a few minutes to look at the unit and told me they could easily fix the system and it was still in fine condition. I asked when I could schedule to have it fixed and Justin told me it was a quick fix he would do it right now. Low and behold after cleaning out the mice, replacing one small part, fixing a few slightly chewed wires and rewiring a part that ALS service technicians previously incorrectly wired on the system inside the house the AC was running perfectly and hasn't moved off the set temperature since all for a total cost of $385. Besides the rudeness and lack of effort the real issues I have is the quote I received for a brand new system of $11,500, when really all it took was a little effort. But the biggest issue came later when I received an invoice for the service technicians calls. I called the office to ask about the invoices and talked with the Service Manager who was also rude and was told I never should have received a invoice because I signed the service order which I know for a fact I did not do so I asked for him to email me the copy of the service order. I received a email later that day of the service order which was signed by customer, which was no where close to my signature so I called back and talked to the Service Manger and explained my concerns. I was told then your girlfriend or wife must have signed it because there is another signer listed on my account. Well the funny part about the other signer is she currently lives in Florida so it would be really tough for her to sign from there right now. So me being a smartass now because I felt like these people are scams I asked if one of my boys signed the service order. The Service Manger said what are the boys names and I said Bentley or Finn. He said it wasn't Bentley but it could possibly be Finn's signature. I told him well I find that really hard to believe Finn signed it and he asked and I had to tell him because both my boys have 4 legs, bark and can't hold a pen. The Service Manger immediately said we will refund the money to your card and hung up on me. Multiple red flags and I will never use ALs again. 1. Rudeness 2. Lack of effort 3. Scamming people on a system that wasn't needed ($11,500 vs $385 what would most people pick) 4. Forging signatures and saying it was signed by people not even in Massachusetts right now Already filed a complaint with the BBB and called discover and put all blocks on them ever charging my card again. They have lost all my business forever and I hope this helps others in the future. I just hope they aren't taking advantage of others. Al's Oil is the best! I find they have the best price around and the girls in the office are always professional and pleasant, especially Tia, whom I've spoken with many times. Monitoring how much oil is in my oil tank is not my best quality, so I am forever calling them saying "it's very low". They always try to get to my house that day or the next! they arrived today for my annual burner cleaning- things went great. A proficient burner tech. that did not cut corners AND has serviced the burner before - so that helped ease my mind. I had very few complaints- and as usual, more than my share of Questions as I really want to know. I got an honest evaluation of the condition and a few helpful hints looking ahead to the future heating season. I have a feeling this company really cares about local opinions - and limits biofuel- to a very small percentage of their delivery. My wife scheduled a service appointment three weeks ago for today between the hours of 12pm - 4pm. At 3:09pm, I received a call stating that they would have to reschedule and offered tomorrow for service. I explained how my wife had to take time off from work (Not get paid) and how it felt really inconsiderate that they called so late to cancel. We're not available tomorrow and no other remedies were offered. Super frustrated that we waited for three weeks to be cancelled last minute. UPDATE: We spoke with management from Al's Oil shortly after the mishap. They were understanding and responsive to our frustrations. They rescheduled quickly and effectively met our needs. My oil ran out the day after Thanksgiving. Suffice to say: that's not a great for the tank to go dry, the Friday after a holiday and ahead of the weekend. I proceeded to call several places, all to no avail. In every case, the next delivery is Monday or Tuesday at best, despite asking for emergency services. With kids at home, that's not going to do. A call to Al's took some pleading but they appreciated our situation and said they'd send someone out. The truck arrived in about an HOUR and we're quickly back up to half-full. What I'd discussed on the phone was to fill it up and walk us through getting things back up and running, but not what happened. (At this point, in my defense, yes, I'm an idiot, but this is four months into our first oil heat home after living only in cities so we're learning.) So the owner of the company stops by not too long after our second call to show us how to get the heat back on. I wasn't a customer before this -- they didn't owe me emergency services per any contract -- but they did it anyway, and with complete courtesy to boot. I've dealt with other oil companies in the past, and their service/treatment was miles from what Al's Oil delivers. Al's Oil treats their customers like family (though you can't borrow money from them, lol) and their service is top-notch. Their rates are competitive and reasonable, and the reps are always friendly and helpful. I had a problem with my burner, and there was someone there to take care of it in less than 24 hours - it didn't cost an arm and a leg either. In terms of oil delivery, 5 stars. Al's has always delivered oil to my house on time or earlier than they estimated over 15+ years. I've run out of oil a couple times creating my own mini-emergency at the worst times, and they have always bailed me out and got me fast oil delivery, friendly service, and have even helped me prime my oil burner pump at no charge. Excellent service. On the boiler and oil burner service side, I would say competent best describes the service. Complex trouble shooting of a burner issue (for example a bad burner fuel pump or an electrical issue) and burner tuning might be a bit more challenging depending on the service tech you get, and how busy he is. But for simple boiler cleaning and tune-ups, burner tip replacements, etc, their service guy is good ! read more

I am new in oil heating field and might not know some nuances and relying on experts' opinions. It might be perfectly normal to deal with oil delivery companies this way but I simply didn't expect to get such a horrible service. Based the number of good reviews and spiking with Al's representative, I signed a service contract with Al's Oil but I wouldn't do it and won't recommend this company to anyone if I would know in advance how problematic it would be to get oil be delivered. I submitted the request for the oil through their website on Saturday when the gage on the oil tank displayed that only ¼ of oil is left, and expect that oil will be delivered on Monday, how naïve I was. On Monday I missed a call from Al's Oil, first thing in Tuesday morning I returned a call, and the woman on the phone explained to me that they couldn't deliver the oil, they have to do a tank evaluation fist and proposed to schedule the appointment on coming Thursday. All of this after that the tank and heater evaluation had done by Al's Oil folks a month ago, and tank is covered under a contract, and most important the tank is drying out and outside temperature below frizzing. Finally, after arguing for 15-20 minutes she suddenly discovered this information in their system but couldn't do anything better than schedule the oil delivery for the next day, on Wednesday, no time specified. I hope I have enough oil left for the next two days. read more

Extremely poor customer service. Got a quote for a boiler replacement for $5,800.00. Paid in full up front and booked appointment for install October 28th. I called on the 27th to confirm the appointment and ask what time to expect them. Tammy who answers the phones told me they would be there between 830 and 9AM to start the job. I asked them if they could come at 930 instead as I have my daughter every Friday and I generally return home from picking her up between 915 and 930am. Tammy said she would check with Dave who is apparently the manager. Dave returned my call about an hour later and said "no we will have to reschedule." It was 29 degrees out last night, I have no boiler and you can't start the $5,800 job at 930 am instead of 9am because why?!! Ridiculous!!! My family has been buying oil here for years! I will never do business with these people again and I will tell everyone I know of this ridiculousness!!! read more

I've gotten oil from Al's oil for the past 4 years. In November one of their reps told me because of that I could run a balance. So on Dec. 29, I called to get a delivery. Al's called back and said that I had to pay up a $200 balance before they'd deliver and not to worry the oil should last till then. No problem. I had to wait till payday (Thursday) to write a check. I mailed the check from my workplace for $353 so that I would have a credit. I ran out of oil Sunday evening. I called on Monday and told them the check should be there could they please deliver. NOPE! I reminded them that I was in good standing, a long time customer and have never not paid. When I got upset and said my family was without heat, Paul stated,"That's not my problem!". Now perhaps the original rep didn't know their policy, and I was misinformed and I get they want their money...However, the rude remark was what made me so angry. What the hell happened to customer service for loyal customers! What the hell happened to human decency. Happy ending - Endicott Oil delivered the next day and I paid them in full. Now let's see if Al's Oil reimburses me for the overage paid to them. read more
