So glad we stopped here after a rain cancellation for our soccer game. It's a small place in a shopping center, a little long in the tooth, but great soccer memorabilia on the walls so we had to try it out. It's a small family shop and it feels like home. There are TVs playing sports, a steady flow of traffic getting food to go or the occasional dine in. I got the Italian sub as is and ended up having to share it looked so good. Which it was. Fresh trimmings and great flavor. The bread was fantastic. My son got the Steak Stromboli and it was excellent. Yummy, gooey cheese with a savory beef filling that combines to perfection. Furthermore the onions give it the Stromboli a nice little kick. We were so busy eating that we almost forgot the wings. Crispy and savory BBQ. Clearly freshly made. Well worth the stop and a far better choice than the chain restaurants in the area. Well worth it. read more

Al's is my favorite spot to eat in Carlisle. Any order I called in was ready in 15 minutes. They have some great bread for their subs. Their cheesesteak subs are exceptional. My favorite is the wiz steak with onions. Al's pizza is excellent. I'd go more often if I didn't live 4,796 miles away. Great subs! And good pizza. I think all the bread is homemade and the subs are always nicely made. I had cream of crab soup and the taste was good but it was made with fake crab. Replace that fake crab with some claw meat or lump meat and it would be terrific! Service is always fast and friendly. And the marinara sauce they use on pizza is really good and sweet. Here in Carlisle for Truck Nationals. Front desk recommended AL'S Pizza and Subs. Let me tell you, this Pizza is phenomenal....yummy goodness...the cheesy bread was also very yummy...nothing but good things to say about AL's...when we called to order, I said we were staying in a hotel, but would come pick it up, they offered delivery to us (the have delivery drivers), but we wanted to go pick it up. The gentleman who took our order was very nice and pleasant, and carried on with me on the phone for a few...I like that in customer service..we will definitely order from here in our future stays here in Carlisle!! My husband was worried when we ordered the pan medium Pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni, thinking it would be to small...6 cuts and layered the extra cheese and pepperoni toppings later lol...he loved it!! read more

This was a heck of a find while traveling through the area. We ordered a 12" Pork Lover's Dream but asked them to make it a stuffed crust pizza instead of a regular one. It was fantastic! The crusts were crisp while not being hard or tough. Plenty of toppings tucked inside and the separate sauce to dip it in was amazing with a bright tomato and garlic flavor that wasn't acidic or overpowering. We had a side salad, too, which was fine but the star was the stuffed pizza. If it could have made it back to Florida tasting as good as it did in the restaurant, we would have gotten several to go. read more

After 50 minutes, I called to inquire about our order that hadn't arrived. They said they were running behind, however the driver was on his way. Another 40 minutes later and still no pizza. I ordered food from a motel: fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, and a calzone. The owner of the restaurant knew I was at the motel. I assumed I would be receiving silverware and a horseradish or garlic dipping sauce with my meal. We order delivery from here after stopping here to get our truck repaired on our trip back to NJ. We ordered a stromboli, baked ziti, and wings. The strom was hugh and not greasy with 2 cups of marinara. The ziti was good too. The wings were so-so. We ordered early on Sunday and delivery was quicker than expected. I really like Al's. The cheese pizza is the best cheese pie in Carlisle. They also have a half sub lunch special which is awesome. So few places offer that, and I think it's a tremendous value. Visiting Carlisle and saw their menu in the lobby of the hotel. Went in and ordered the chicken Parmasean and ate there. The chicken was excellent and it comes with a huge serving of spaghetti and a salad and garlic bread. I will certainly recommend this place to everyone who is hungry. read more
