We love Nonna Ilva! Authentic delicious Italian food, large portions, wonderful staff & nice atmosphere. We have eaten brunch here on a Sunday and dinner here many times. My husband appreciates GF pizza crust & vegan cheese.

A charming mom-and-pop shop, we originally came in for their desserts but were seriously tempted by the smell of their pizza. It's a small spot with a few tables out front, perfect for a casual treat. The desserts were absolutely delicious. We tried their tiramisu and cannolis, and both were phenomenal, especially for the price. The staff was super friendly and gave us great suggestions on what to order. What a little gem!

Ordered online and said it would be ready for pickup by 6:27 pm but it was actually ready at 6:45pm so the website should give more accurate pickup time. The pizza was okay, the crust is super doughy+ pale and the pizza was thin. Did not taste or see any white sauce on the pizza like it should have. The pasta needs a lot more sauce on the pasta it was $19.50 but not worth it. The picture of the pasta looks good only because the cheese on top. Once I got in there there was barely any sauce. Specifically asked for utensils and napkins but did not get any.

Finding a place to eat in downtown Carlisle on a Monday evening is harder the you'd think, and so we honestly stumbled on Nonna Ilva. I'm glad we did, because I was very impressed with the quality and the atmosphere. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the portion sizes. My calzone was gigantic and PACKED with meats and cheeses (I think I'll go with one of their appetizer mini calzones next time) and the large cheese pizza provided more than enough for my wife and three kids. Also a the gelato is home made and WOW it's worth it! We had chocolate and it was out of this world! Don't get me wrong - I love Rita's, but this is on a whole other level! The staff was very friendly - the guy who took our order was super personable, asked questions, and said he tries to remember everyone local who comes through. It's mostly outdoor seating with only a couple of seats inside, but that worked out perfect for us! Highly recommend!

We have passed Nonna Ilva's and wanted to try it. They have many options on the menu including pizza, salads, panini, rice balls, and desserts. They have canned soda including Diet Coke. We tried a large cheese pizza. It was delicious! The crust is thin and was easier for me to eat when I folded it over. There are two bar type shelves inside with stools for eating as well as several tables outside. There is street parking. Many people came through while we were waiting for our pizza to pick up takeout orders. I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

One of the best pizzas I have had in many years. Carlisle has many pizza places, but they are often mediocre yet popular. Local opinion is often a bit insular and bland. My reference points are the superb pizzas in NJ/NY/CT that are memorable for high quality and flavor. The pizza I ordered had homemade Italian sausage on it and mushrooms that didn't come out of a can. The sauce, cheese, and dough (crust) were amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who really appreciate a great pizza.

Food was really good. The only thing is that it is takeout only. Very limited seating if any.

Calamari was bad. We did take out so I could not send it back. The pizza was ok. For the money, not worth it.

We had a terrific cheese pizza with sautéed onions that was delicious; the rich, gorgonzola salad was also wonderful.

Truthfully, I have a pizza shop located slightly closer to me in town that's pretty amazing too, but don't get me wrong: there are plenty of pizza-shaped spaces in my Italian heart for everybody who deserves it. Marcello's typically has the best prices in town. If Domino's is bottom tier, M's holds the top shelf. I ordered a large pie through an app a few weeks back and it was incredibly good, but for only $1.49 more, today I opted for the square-shaped Sicilian crust and my gosh is it awesome!! The crust is toasty, the sauce is robust. The cheese is baked in and stays in place. The texture is soft yet crispy in all the right spots! This might be a "plain" in terms of toppings, but it's anything but plain in flavor. I actually prefer it sans pepperoni because it's a lot less greasy and there's a lot to savor there that meat eclipses. It's also a generous amount of food if you're hungry and want leftovers, usually they're just as great the next day. I might not be able to return to regular crust! In fact, I was full after one slice, but I really wanted more. I have no idea how they get the perfectly baked texture throughout, but I have no doubt in my mind Marcello's is an amazing choice for a pie. If you're new to the area, you won't be disappointed. You'll instantly see why this is a Carlisle cult favorite!

It is huge! I also ordered the breaded mushrooms and it would've fed 3 people! How are they making money with portions this big! The service was top notch also! I can't handle spicy food, not even pepperoni, and I have a hard time speaking some times because I had a full laryngectomy but the young lady at the counter was very kind and patient with me, and helped me find some substitutes and they didn't charge me anything extra! The place had a nice vibe going on, everyone in the kitchen was busy, but all seemed to be enjoying what they did! I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for top notch Italian cuisine! Very tasty!

Thankfully the restaurant is willing to accommodate (like leaving the cheese off a pizza) so there are vegan items to be crafted. It would just be cool if there were one or two items designed with vegans in mind. So, after some hocus pocus work, I decided on The Puttanesca Pizza and a non-alcoholic Cinnamon Vanilla Mule. The Puttanesca Pizza typically features olive tapenade, house tomato sauce, shaved Romano and rosemary gremolata. The waitress said it would be no problem to leave off the Romano. The Cinnamon Vanilla Mule contains cinnamon-vanilla syrup and ginger beer. Thankfully no substitutions needed here. The pizza at Pitt Street Station is bar style. A thin, chewy crust with the toppings layered on top. I found the crust to be pretty good. I like the combo of tapenade and house tomato sauce but did find it a tad salty. Can't imagine what it is like with the Romano added in. The Cinnamon Vanilla Mule was very good. I liked the balance of all the components. It was cool to see some non alcoholic cocktails on the menu and to have them be really good. I would return to Pitt Street Station if meeting up with someone because the place is accommodating to dietary needs but until some actual vegan items are on the menu it won't be somewhere I seek out on my own.
