This is my favorite pizza shop in the neighborhood. I've tried others and this one ALWAYS hits lol. Not only have I tried their pizza, but I've also tried the sandwiches and omg, they are just as good. My favorite thing to order from here is the grandma pie Today I tried the grandma trio and even better!! Lol. Good for groups because cuz it offers three different varieties of pizza in one pie. Saw this place in Yelp and wanted to eat before driving home. It is a rather unassuming storefront, directly across from a micro hotel and near several other eateries. The menu is pretty standard pizza shop fare - pizza, burgers, Stromboli, etc. We were intrigued with the Grandma's Pizza offerings and decided on the Trio - with one-third Cheese Lover, one-third Margarita, and one-third Meat Lover. This is a rectangular pie with three slices of each. The price seemed a little steep, but it's pretty common these days to pay $15 a person for a meal. The counter man informed us it would be 30 minutes. I appreciated the head-up, but we had no where to go...and it meant the pizza was being made fresh! It was actually done in about 20 minutes. Gorgeous to look at, and loaded down with toppings. There was no skimping here. The edges of the pie were crispy without being crunchy, and the dough underneath was soft but still could stand up to the weight of the toppings. Somewhat reminiscent of a Detroit-style pizza, but leaner and, IMO, tastier. We are half the pie, trying each type and packed the rest for home. I expect it will reheat well. Total with drinks was around $30. You could feed a family of four on this pie. Excellent! read more

Why haven't I tried Papa Joe's !?! Stopped in the other day ordered a plain cheese slice and WOW! The crust is thin and crispy under the sauce/ cheese and soft pillow like at the edges. When I folded the slice I didn't get a stream of grease run out the corners. This is a great slice! read more

I ordered mild buffalo wings. I got six I ordered a fry. I got a fountain soda, and I got their tiramisu. The workers were very kind and answered all my questions. The meat lovers pizza slice was awesome. They warmed it up in the pizza oven as I waited so the temp was great. The food was great as I mentioned, the atmosphere was blah, nothing really to look at but I was there for the food and not the scene. Lots of to-go orders took place while I was there. My son and I found this pizza place after walking around Bass Pro. Located in a plaza walking distance from several hotels (including long-term stay lodging), parking abounds. Warm and inviting with nostalgic Italian decor, we felt at ease immediately upon entering. All employees provided friendly greetings. We got the special, 2 large pizzas and a 2 liter bottle beverage. We chose 1 cheese pizza, 1 sliced tomatoes on cheese pizza, and a Barq's root beer. Our pizza was delicious, each piece cut into 8 hardy slices. The sauce was spiced flavorfully, cheese melted to perfection, and crust ideally baked. Veteran status garnered a military discount and a thanks for my service. We can't wait to return to this terrific dining establishment. Carryout may be an option for some visits. read more

Called ahead to see if they sold only whole pies or also pizza by the slice since it was just me for dinner. They confirmed they sold it by the slice so I drove over. When I got there, there was a single slice of dried up cheese pizza sitting on the top of the counter. It looked like it'd been there for days, all dried up and starting to curl. Not even under a heat lamp. They told me that was it and they weren't making anymore for the day. I just left. In town for work. Late arrival and few options open near the hotel. I arrived around 50 minutes before close. The staff was pleased to take my order for a pizza and a salad. I was the sole dine-in customer, but there was a decent to-go stream. The dining area is well-used and seen years of customer service, but it was very clean (tables and floors). The salad was quick - within minutes - and the pizza was maybe 12-15 minutes, just enough time to enjoy my salad and get the soda syrup switched on for a fresh fountain. This pizza blew my mind! Despite the butcher block meaty moniker, this was not a greasy gut buster. To be clear, plenty of meat, cheese, and crushed tomato sauce. This was probably 3-4# of pizza, but perfectly balanced flavors and textures. When I am in town, this will definitely be on my list of spots to re-visit. Great job, guys!! read more

Burgers are AMAZING. Specialty pizzas are AMAZING. There's nothing else to say. I've been going here for years. I travel 20 minutes to pick up a pizza with no problem. Chicken bacon ranch and the buffalo pizza chicken pizza are the best in the city and the burger is top notch! I just finished eating a burger so I want to rate it #1 because I can't think of a better burger in Harrisburg, but I'm going to play it safe and say top 3 since my taste buds are trying to take over this review. Ive only ordered takeout pizza and it did not disappoint. Perfect cheese, sauce, crust ratio. Sauce is tasty but not overpowering. The cheese blend is spot on. Huge, tasty portions of amazing Italian food is what you get at this conveniently located restaurant. I was able to walk over from my hotel, and I waited for about 15 minutes for my food. I ordered the veal parmigiana, and it was massive. The amount I ate barely made a dent in the dish. The salad had lots of peppers, which I wasn't expecting. Picked those out, and topped it with the packages of blue cheese salad dressing that was provided. The salad was a little disappointing, but I don't hold that against the restaurant. The veal was perfect, and the accompanying spaghetti was delicious. And huge. And the garlic toast was also great. A wonderful meal, and I would highly recommend it. read more

So the atmosphere wasn't too bad not crowded for a Sunday. So the cake display I happened to grab a tiramisu cake slice and in the icing on top had a long hair piece. Got a taco pizza didn't know a debate about sour cream being on the side would cause a huge issue with the kitchen. The man making the pizza was mad and didn't accept if someone in my family has a allergy to sour cream don't have the pressure be on the man at the register and for him he told us it won't be a issue but the pizza guy gave us dirty looks up and down sorry I spent close to $70 dollars and usually having a allergy like that isn't a issue but felt very uneasy about it. The hair found in my cake to avoid conflict I spit the hair and cake piece out and I decided didn't say anything. I chose not to because the tension was already bad and didn't want to create any more issues. So if possible can we not make the people who have certain food allergies feel so uncomfortable and find a way to accommodate it and not give them attitude. read more

Great food. The kind of pizza I grew up thinking everywhere had. Fabulous tasty great. Quick service. Ambiance was that of a classic pizza joint. Ample space and outdoor seating. I have been eating pizza once a week for the past three months at this shop. I live in zip code 17057 Middletown its hike to get there. I love their pizza it perfect NY style. I live near dominos, papa johns, Middletown pizza and tony's pizza 400 meters away and travel all the way to harrisburg I would give this shop 5 stars EASY the pizza is better than any major chain but I can not get beyond the no gloves. None of them wear gloves and I'm just gonna get pizza that I put back in the oven when i get home as insurance. I've entered the restaurant like today and seen them doing prep work and then take my money straight from perp...that is gross to me. We r at our office for a Few days ( truck drivers) and we finally looked for a pizza place. Thanx for the great reviewers. This place IS da bomb. The gal met us with a mask... yep... sign of the times! We could walk in to pick up and order to go. After giving the menu a good look thru we decided to order a Grandma's Butcher Block Pizza. Let me say I wasn't sure when I saw her cutting it. For one it was square which is wierd and it had soooo much extra sauce on top! Mmmm. But my fears disappeared after we got it back to the office and my first bite. That's all it took .... oh my!!! The flavor was spectacular!!! So the square pizza was ok!! We also ordered two sets of wings, Hanenõ mango & Garlic Parm. Bf had the mango ones and said they are realllllly spicy! He lives them and I wa afraid to try one after his lips were on fire. This was my first visit, suggested by a friend that has been here before. We visited for lunch on a Tuesday around 11:30 and the place was dead (which didn't last long--about 15 minutes later people started pouring in!). They have a bunch of different personal Stromboli's and pizza ready to go under their glass covered counter. Everything looked very good. You place your order, pay and then they call your name when your order is ready. I ordered a steak & cheese personal Stromboli that they had in the case, which was maybe 7 inches long and my friend ordered a salad with grilled chicken. I got a fountain drink and she got an iced tea from out of the cooler and our bill was just under $20. My Stromboli was just ok. My friends loves the salad but it didn't look like something I would've ordered as it had soggy green peppers and a ton of mozzarella cheese on top--but that's just personal taste.
