Our server last night was attentive, but did take a while to bring the bread and my side salad. Speaking of the side salad, it is a very basic salad with iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, and onion. They were out of the house dressing, so I opted for the Italian, which was really a golden Italian dressing. As an Italian restaurant, I would have hoped for something different. For our main meals, I ordered the pasta Brunello, which is chunks of chicken with mushrooms, penne pasta in a creamy rosé sauce. It was delicious. My daughter did the create your own pasta with Penne pasta, marinara, and a side of Italian sausage. We think it sat in the window a little bit as the plate was hot and the sauce had adhered to the pasta. She still enjoyed it though. The garlic bread is fresh and hot, and they offer butter in addition to oil. The prices are reasonable. The decore could use some updating, but it is definitely a good neighborhood Italian restaurant. read more

I was so impressed with my pasta dish I may never go to another Italian restaurant again. I usually go to Luna's but this was just as good and half the price. I'm not normally a "bread" person because I'd rather save room for the other food but OMGsh the bread was so soft and amazing I had to eat it. The tiramisu was also amazing. The Caesar salad was ok. My friends and I have gone to this restaurant many times and it was a favorite. First of all I will say that the service was wonderful. The waitress was pleasant and attentive and helpful. However the owner was quite unpleasant. One of the individuals in our party had food allergy issues. They requested a different sauce on a pasta dish. They were told that the owner/would not make a substitution. Considering that one of the options on the menu is to pick your own pasta and select your own sauce it seemed odd not to honor this request. Another individual in our group ordered Ciopping. Upon receiving their dish approximately 1/3 of the muscles were unopened. They spoke to a waitress who then brought out the owner. He argued that they were safe to eat. (The general rule is unopened muscles were most likely dead before they were seemed therefore not safe to eat. ) Seriously a simple apology would have been more appropriate than arguing with the customer. The owners lack of concern for the safety of the patrons of the restaurant was disturbing. Not accommodating a request for a different sauce due to a food allergy was insensitive. Arguing with the customer about food safety was unacceptable. The owner has lost eight patrons to his restaurant through his behavior. We will not return. read more

The minute we arrived the hostess was extremely pleasant and seated us right away. The meat-lovers pizza was fabulous and the Philly cheese steak Deelish. I do say stop in and taste the "yumminess "for yourself. My only complaint comes with the server, if I could have given her a 10% tip I would have but I gave her 18% (not worth that much). Why do I say that because the hostess was more attentive to my table than she was. Maybe I could have understood if we were sitting in the corner but the table was on the main run way between the columns. She never asked if we needed a refill or if we needed anything additional. We have been going there for years, and the food has been great. Today, 11 August, my wife and I went there around 2pm for pasta. After I placed the order, we were informed by the cashier/waitress that we couldn't order pasta since it was still lunch. I then ordered something else. After the order came and we were almost finished, three customers came in and ordered pasta. They received the pasta. When I asked the cashier/waitress why, she informed me that she asked the manager who approved the request. This upset us very much in that the manager wasn't asked to make an exception for us. If it would have been extremely busy, we would have understood. However, my wife and I were the only two guests in there until the three customers arrived. It was very insulting that no exception was made for us since we were the only customers in there first. To add insult to injury it was a special occasion, our 31st anniversary. The calamari was over salted. If you use cheese in your coating, then salting the fried calamari accentuates salt taste. The scampi didn't taste bad but the extra pasta water used in the sauce made it drip all over the place and very watery. My wife's lobster ravioli was good. Our service was excellent. Great locally owned Italian spot! My wife and I come here every week for date night. BYOB is awesome and they don't mind loaning you an opener. Staff is always nice and friendly. They have some great homemade pasta dishes, although we normally build our own dish. Our go to server is Pamela and she is great! Worst Italian food I've ever eaten. Waitress was rude, and sloppy. This place is a dump and would never return.

I'm a huge fan of good pizza, so I was looking forward to visiting here since it was being talked up by others in the Mechanicsburg area. Unfortunately, it seems that Davinci might have changed hands at some point since it did not live up to the hype. Since we (a party of three) got there early we were seated quickly, although the staff did seem to be very brusque. As one of the other guests noted, "Why are they yelling?" Our drinks order went in quickly and came out fairly quick as well, although the ice teas were pretty much all ice and nobody asked if we wanted refills at any point. After the drinks arrived we ordered side salads and a large pizza with olives and mushrooms. The side salads were very disappointing and had yellowed to brown iceberg lettuce that was clearly past the it's prime along with a suggestion of purple onions and tomatoes. While we all ordered Italian dressing - thinking it would be along the lines of a vinaigrette-type dressing - what was served reminded me a bit more of a Thousand Island dressing. Then after waiting a shocking amount of time a lukewarm pizza came out. While the pizza did have a crispy crust - suggesting that they have a proper oven onsite - getting a lukewarm pizza when you are eating in is very disappointing. If the restaurant was absolutely slammed with customers it might have been understandable, but there were only about six other tables present suggesting that the waitstaff left the pizza sitting for too long. Perhaps even worse is that several olive pits were spit out while eating the pizza. I understand that pits sometimes happen with olives, running into multiple of them suggest a lack of attention to detail by the kitchen. Furthermore, we are still debating amongst ourselves if there were actually mushrooms on the pizza. I think I might have encountered one or two diced mushrooms, but the pizza did not have the large, sliced mushrooms you would expect. A very poor showing for the price they charged. Overall, the consensus seems to be that while they were good at one point in the past, the restaurant has either changed hands, or there was a dramatic drop in standards and quality. We will not be returning and I can't really recommend their pizza to anyone. read more

We had been told that staff was not taking pandemic precautions. That was months ago. We hoped that if what we had been told was incorrect or that the owners had wised up with thousands of people dying. But We took our chances and placed a takeout order. There were 4 folks working when we picked it up. One cook had a bandanna on, the other had a mask dangling from an ear. One person taking a phone order had no mask and the person who waited on me had a mask on; but it was pulled down below her nose. She complied when I asked her to position her mask properly so as not to infect me. The food was very good as usual. We have tried to support locally owned restaurants during these troubling times. But they have a moral responsibility to protect their customers too. We'll think about going to DaVinci's once Dr. Fauci says the Pandemic is over. Until then; it'll be Olive Garden. read more

I have passed by this place on my way to and from the PA turnpike for years. Tonight I decided to stop and have dinner for a change. The waitress was extremely polite and professional. I ordered the chicken parm with extra sauce (I love pasta sauce). The meal came with bread which was clearly fresh made. The sauce alone was fantastic! I have no issues with the food or with their prices. I have had a couple of meals at this place over the years and have always been pleased. However, my most recent experience will prevent me from ever going back. My family went to dinner this past Saturday night. It was the first time many of us had gotten together for a meal in nearly a year. From the moment our waitress (name rhymes with piña) arrived at our table she was hostile to us. Instead of handing us menus or placing them in front of us, she threw them on the table. She made no effort to write down our orders as they were being given. My brother ordered a pasta dish with a Greek Salad. Instead of telling him that there was an up charge or that they do not allow substitutions, our waitress just snapped at him and said "no you can't have that". She got annoyed with us when 3 people decided to split a large grandma pizza. When the bread arrived at the table, she asked if we wanted butter or dipping oil. With there being seven of us, I replied that we would like both. She threw her hands up and acted like we were inconveniencing her. She came back with the packets of butter and just threw them on the table. Three of our entrees came out at the same time. The plates were hot and the food was warm, indicating that the food had been sitting under the heat lamp. The remaining meals did not arrive for more than another half an hour. The grandma pizza was M.I.A. along with my wife's Greek salad. We asked the waitress after half of us having food for 20 minutes and the others not and she said that the pizza was still in the oven. At 1 hour, our waitress dropped the pizza off at the table and said that the kitchen had boxed it up by mistake and that it had been sitting on the oven for the past 30 minutes. Why would you tell your table this??? We asked if the pizza was still hot and she got pissed and snapped at us and said "do you want me to just put it back in the oven right now." We said we were fine and she said that she would be back to check on us later. I tried to get her attention to ask about my wife's Greek salad and she scolded me, saying that it wasn't up yet. In total, my wife waited over 75 minutes for her Greek salad. I have worked every job in a restaurant. I understand the struggles and am sympathetic to others working these positions. I have never seen or been in a situation where a restaurant's wait staff was purposfully abusive to its customers. I recognize that Saturday nights can be busy, but she was not treating any of the other tables the same way. The woman was being downright hostile and condensensing to us specifically. She gave us lip service multiple times and went out of her way to ignore our table. With more than half the table not having any food for over a half hour, one of our guests asked for another basket of bread. The waitress got so snippy saying that 1 piece per entree was the limit. We asked if we could buy more bread so that guests would have something to eat while we wait and she got very condescending and patronizing. Our bill was $110 for 7 people. My group left the waitress a 10% tip; she didn't deserve any of it. read more

I like this restaurant a lot, although my fellow diner has a somewhat different opinion of it. So I am giving a mixed-results review to balance the good with the "needs improvement. " The menu is comprehensive and itemizes in Italian, a nice touch. Calamari? Yes! Bruschetta? Yup! Salad? Soup? Pasta? Pizza? Yes, yes, yes, and oh yeah! Beverage choices include a robust wine and cocktail list. This establishment is easy to find with adequate parking. Cost is very good considering the quantity of food and take-home bags. Warm crusty bread was a great start. I enjoyed a salad with Italian house dressing, all fresh, crispy deliciousness. Then, I savored tasty Italian wedding soup with perfect little meatballs. I finished with two large meatballs, soaked in perfectly sweet and spicy tomato sauce. My fellow diner had a pizza cheeseburger--melted cheese, marinara sauce, and juicy beef. All delicious! Our server was friendly, but was slow on refilling water glasses. I drank hot tea, and received no refill offer. The cheeseburger took a long time to arrive. Whipped butter would be classy versus plastic and foil-wrapped butter pats. Seat diners a bit separated from other diners for privacy. It would make for a more intimate setting.
