He led me to believe we were pumping the solids tank but in fact it was only some few gallons from the wet tank and not at all helpful. i later called one of the two big companies in the area and they charged me less to pump the whole 1500 gallons then Al's charged for pumping a few gallons of liquid. really was expecting better service, he seems like a nice guy but my experience really left me with a hole in my wallet and still needing a full pump-out. read more

This was my first experience hiring a septic tank service and things went better than I expected. Our tank overflowed so this was an emergancy for us. Al was quick to return my call, friendly and informative. Since this process was new to me I called two other places to get a quote. One place never returned my call and another guy sounded a little too grumpy for me to want to work with him. Since his price was the same as Al's I went with Al's based on his attitude alone. Al made a same day appointment on a Saturday and gave me a 2 hour window of when his guys would show up. He said they would be here between 3 - 5 PM and they would call before they got here. I got a call at 3:45 and they were here 10 minutes later. The guys went right to work switching over the fields and pumping the tank and explained everything along the way so I could avoid this situation in the future. On June 30, 2017 I called Al's Septic Tank Service to have my septic tank dumped and lids placed on the tank. Al referred me to Bryan De Rosa to dig out for lids to be placed on my septic tank. Bryan, came out and placed lids on my tank; dropped one lid in the tank. At that time I saw one of the workers carry off a terra cotta line and Bryan later told me that next time I dump I will need to fix the terra cotta line to the leach field. I said ok. I being a woman did not know much of septic tanks. I then paid them; noticing that Al's Septic wrote on the paid receipt that there was nothing wrong with my tank. Later thinking what is wrong with my tank since Bryan mentioned I need to fix the terra cotta line. I called Bryan De Rosa and he said, well both lines, one to the house needs to be dug out and also the line to the leach fixed. The problem was the line for both leach and house were no longer there. They needed to be fixed. Bryan mentioned that now the tank would need to be dumped again. I said, Bryan, you should have wrote on my receipt that this was wrong and offered to write me an estimate to fix the problem at that time. I called Tom's Septic Service to have the tank inspected. Findings: I would need to dump my tank again and fix both sides of the lines to the tank and patch the tank. I have called Al's Septic Tank Service and asked that they refund back at least half of my dumping fee since they did not follow through with this error correctly at the time of dumping. Unfortunately, I have not heard from Al at all. I would not recommend either one Al's Septic Service or Bryan De Rosa for any kind of service. Maybe, by me posting this I can enlighten other home owners before they end up putting out money that should have not be billed from the beginning. They cost me double fees for dumping and if I would not have followed up I could have had the septic back up in my house. Shame on them. read more

I called Al's on a Saturday knowing he would not be able to come that day.He said that he could come on Monday.I called Monday at 8am and he said that he would come after he finishes a house in Morgan Hill.I called again at 1:30pm to see if he was still coming and he said as soon as he finishes that house.I called again at 5pm and he said it was to late.He would come on Monday.Since when does it take all day to empty a septic tank? I think he lied to me and really did more than one house. At 10am on Monday I called Al to see if he was coming,He did not answer so I left a message.Normally he returns my calls in 15 minutes.Since he did not return my call in that time I thought I better start calling other places. After a few calls I got hold of Tarin Septic Service 408-422-4920 or 408-779-9659 and he said he could come in an hour as he was finishing a house.He did show up as he said he would. Al's came out to inspect the septic tank and drain field for a house we are buying. They were able to locate the tank covers immediately even though they had been covered over with grading. They conducted a 30 minute flow test and gave us a report. When the time comes to pump the tank, I expect to use them again. read more

I called Al's Septic for a service estimate. The receptionist took down my information and said that they would get back to me. I got a call ten minutes later from Al. This is the 2nd time I have used this company. The 1st time was almost 20 yrs ago. The owner (Al) was so helpful & fast in responding back to me. He was even able to look up info to see if he'd come out here before (that's the only reason I knew it had been almost 20 yrs). He called me back in less than 30 min after he located the file with my information. He told me the size of my tank and how far apart the 2 septic tank opening were. Wow! I couldn't believe he had that information! That sure helped my husband locate and dig out the 2 openings! I know someone reported about hidden costs, but I never experienced that. Right off the bat the owner told me how much the pump would cost for the different sized tanks and that there could be another charge for breaking up any hard sludge (and he told me how much extra that would be if it happened, which they wouldn't know until they actually pumped the tank). They came right out and completed the job fast he even inspected the tank and wrote the results on the receipt so I could have that information for my records, but there was not any extra charge for the inspection. He said the tank was in great shape. The crew (and the owner, Al) was very pleasant, patient and helpful with all the questions I had. They kept me updated at all times and called when they were on there way. Top notch communication and I cannot think of a single thing they could have done differently to make the experience a better one. I will definitely use this company again and recommend them without hesitation to all my family and friends. Thanks John (I think that was your name) & Al!
