I used them to clean my septic system a few years ago, and overall was pleased with the service. I needed them again this month for a new issue. I attempted to contact them on a Wednesday afternoon. The call went to their voicemail, so I left a clear message. 24 hours later, no returned call, so I tried calling them again, and someone actually answered the phone. I described the issue, and they said they were very busy but would give me a call back after they reviewed their schedule. It took them another 24 hours to get back to me simply to tell me that they had no openings for a month. If they have no intention of returning missed calls, then they shouldn't even pretend to accept voicemails. And taking 24 hours to check their schedule is ridiculous. read more

I just had a great experience with Pete's. The owner, Dean, came out with a helper, found and dug up our tank. Roots had started working their way into the tank since the last pumping and they worked really hard to get most of them chopped up and sucked out. They also made an excellent suggestion to have boxes built (which may be required on new septic installations now) so we have manhole like covers above the tanks. No longer have to find and dig down to the covers. And the boxes are very well sealed so one can hope it will be a very long time before another root sneaks through the barrier. Everyone we asked about getting the tank pumped and inspected for the sale of our house highly recommended Pete's and now I am too. read more

Several years ago we had Pete's inspect our septic system and pump it when we bought our home. A few days ago the septic tank backed up into the house and I called for help. First day I called around 5 o'clock left a long detailed message. Today I called again and got the answering machine there at the business with no return phone call. So much for helping something out during an emergency. Or returning a phone call. Even to say your schedule is full. Every time I try to support local businesses here in Northern California this is the type of professionalism I encounter. Nonexistent. read more

These guys have been reliably serving my property for years now. We have many septic tanks, and they not only helped advise us on their construction, but have always done a very professional job when they visit us, and are very flexible in servicing our non-conventional setup. I highly recommend them! The negative review doesn't say anything about whether the person actually used their service, just that he had a bad traffic incident with them. I do not make a habit of leaving bad ratings but in this case I have to make an exception. We have never experienced such poor service nor been so frustrated by a service provider as we have been by Pete's. We first contacted them in June of this year to perform maintenance on our septic system as we had experienced a back up. It is now November and our system is still not functioning properly and we have finally had to resort to contracting with another septic company to remedy some of the damage done by Pete's and finish the job correctly. Here are some of the difficulties we experienced: They NEVER answer the phone and in many cases do not return calls for days if at all. If you are finally able to get in touch with them it takes weeks to get someone out to the house even when you are dealing with a back-up. Their technicians who come out to the house diagnose the problem, tell you what they will do to remedy it, but are never able to do the work at that time. Instead they tell you to call the office to reschedule. The office staff then dispute what the field technicians have committed to do and more time goes by with no action. Then they tell you that the work the technicians said they would do can only be done if you pay their technicians under the table. By this time we so desperately wanted our system fixed that we did so but they NEVER completed all of the work that was promised despite many calls to them asking that they do so. Instead they came out to our house unannounced, entered our back yard with out permission risking our dogs getting out and left a tool to turn our diversion valve but didn't turn the valve as promised to check if the valve was functioning. As a result our system again backed up. It took us many phone messages and weeks went by before we were able to get anyone back out. Finally the owner came out and admitted that the technician should have turned the valve but couldn't turn it then because of the resulting back-up. He promised to come back the following week and pump it out but since then they have not returned any of our phone messages. If you note all of the positive reviews left for this company are from years passed. Maybe something has happened to cause their service to deteriorate so badly but we strongly recommend the you NOT USE THEIR SERVICE. We will certainly be making that recommendation to our friends and neighbors!! read more

We needed to have our septic tank pumped after 5 years we have owned our house. We decided to go with Pete's Outflow Technicians because of yelp reviews. It was easy to make an appointment. They came on time and provided excellent service. Very professional and answered all the question that we had. Darren (I hope I got the name right) gave us helpful advice about how we can deal with unattractive leach field risers that stick above the ground level. 5 stars! read more

A shame you can't give negative stars. They came out to my folks house last month. Cleaned the septic tank, told them everything was in perfect order. As my father stepped on the manhole cover their technician had removed and then replaced; it broke causing my stepfather to fall 6 feet and a painful shoulder replacement. Note: there was NOTHING wrong with it prior to Pete's service. My mother informed me today that the company has the odacity to ignore her and refuse to return her phone calls. Lawyer is being called tomorrow. Furious is to put it mildly. read more
