The only reason this place doesn't get five stars is because you can definitely hear your neighbors and hallway conversations but if you're someone who isn't a light sleeper it shouldn't be an issue. The room was clean and amenities were provided. Decent little TV with basic cable and a sliding door (on first floor). A safe for your belongings. Word to the wise: the continental breakfast is not mind blowing but for the price this place is definitely worth a shot. read more

Then because of an emergency I had to cancel and I asked once again for a conf # and once again they said they would email it to me! Once again they DID NOT!! I cancelled well within the cx deadline (I have proof of that) and I find a $200.00 "no show" charge on my credit card bill! HUH???? So I called them and sent my proof and they still would not refund my money!! This is a fraudulent inept company that could care less about the truth! Lesson here is that since they are so dishonest make sure you get a confirmation # in writing!!! BTW the rooms looked like a Motel 6 and the restaurant was not open and no breakfast!! Horrible customer service. Disgusting pool which they said was clean but sandy / green looking because it's painted to match hotel. That's nasty slime and algea. I wiped it off my kids feet with hand towel and then my husband used same one to swipe the pool to show the manager. Husband was called a child and she charged us $25 for "damaged towels" when in actuality it was a single small hand towel that was already stained from algea ( granted we made it worse). We were told several lies, treated poorly, and belittled. The way that management treats their guests and is more inclined to retaliate from brought up concerns then making it right, terrible!!! Heard similar stories of disgust and terrible customer service from people who attempted to go in pool. No restaraunt which wasn't stated prior, the pool isn't heated, the continental breakfast we were offered was a bananna, tv channels limited and poor picture quality, and the Wifi was terrible. The website is innacurate and definitely not like a resort. They need to update it because it's not even close to true representation. Room was dusty but fairly decently cleaned. We called to make sure room was ready, it wasn't This place has so much potential but we will never come back after how unprofessional manager was. What did brown do to this hotel: The brown carpet, brown carpet baseboards, brown bed spreads, and brown pillow shams all give the place a "we are hiding all the nasty stains" vibe. I dubbed it Schitt's Creek HotelWe refused to unpack, strongly considered sleeping in our car and RACED out of there at Dawn's first light. They didn't even provide soap in the guest rooms, giving it an extra special gross feel. Allow me to further respond: - I'm guessing the manager specializes in sarcasm. That's always a great way to respond to guests. - is there a hotel other than this one that still has bedspreads and pillow shams? I was being generous by calling them brown, I don't know their original colors, that is just the color the reached by age/stainage. - it is difficult to reach front desk staff, they were outside smoking the couple of times we passed by. Giving this place 3 stars strictly because I only stayed one night and it wasn't the worst place I've ever been. The outside of the resort might actually convince you that it is indeed, a resort. Getting inside you'll find it to be a bit lower scale. Our (very small) room was clean at first glance, but after getting in the shower I found multiple hairs stuck to the walls and tub. The toilet seat was cracked and there was quite a bit of cobwebs everywhere. My largest complaint was that their glass hallway had a view DIRECTLY into my room, looking straight towards the beds. Oh! And the door exiting the hallway to the parking lots was so badly bent that it would not close. Seemed kind of sketchy considering anyone could get into the hotel without an access card.. read more

So, I have stayed at the Alsi several times over the years and I love it although, I am pretty easy to please. I love the location, the bay, the beach and mostly how quiet it is. At times it CAN feel like the hotel from the movie "The Shining" because there are so few guests (kinda eerie) but I love it (I think our late Governor Tom McCall might agree). This last stay my wife started reading the reviews which we mostly agree with, 'it is not a resort'. I do not agree about the housekeeping, at least from our experience the rooms have always been clean. The facility is as old as I am, I've never seen the pool clean, the restaurant has been closed every time we have visited, the staff is minimal (occasionally the owners whom we have come to love), on one visit there was a sign over the restroom sink that said please do not clean your fish in the sink, I haven't seen cable there yet but we don't go there for the cable nor the fine dining and entertainment. It is a beautiful place and I reckon at this rate we will be enjoying Waldport by ourselves for some time to come. read more

Do NOT stay here! Worst Birthday vacation ever. Checked out a day early due to overwhelming chemical smell from tattered and torn carpet. Caused me respiratory irritation and no sleep because I couldn't have enough fresh air come in from the windows because the screens are bent and fell out. Only could have the windows cracked open so my dog didn't jump out the window. The lamps were smashed with holes, the carpet had exposed metal spike strips into the bathroom, cut our feet. The bed linens were stained and had black dog hairs, our dog is tan. We felt incredibly grossed out and I couldn't breathe well. We had a sleepless night and left the next morning as early as possible to check into another dog friendly hotel. Spend just a bit more money and stay with your dog at the super clean and modern Waldport Inn. read more

Worst hotel ever. My father who has brain issues and is a veteran rented this room for 4 of us to stay in. We were woke up in the middle of the night by the kids next to us running around. The next morning the children informed us that the desk told them there was no one around them and they could be loud. The next morning I ventured out at 8 am to get coffee and talk to someone about the issue. There was no one at the desk. My daughter and I went to waldport got coffee and came back. STILL NO ONE AT THE DESK! We went upstairs and got ready and packed up at this pint it was about 9 still no one at the desk. We dropped our keys in the box and left. My daughter quickly realized that she had left her hoodie. So we went back to the hotel at 9:30 STILL NO ONE. At this point I called the number provided for help. I had to call twice. FINALLY got an answer from someone who informed that the lady coming was "running late, and would be there in 5 mins." At 9:40 the manager called me back to inform me that the lady would be much longer than the 5 mins. I told her I would come back in a half hour. A half hour later we finally retrieved the hoodie. All and all I am extremely concerned with anyone staying there especially if there was an emergency. Instead of apologizing to me or anything the general manager Tamara stated I was lying. Even though I have multiple witnesses! There was 4 of us there!! Very concerning, alarming and I would not allow my family to stay somewhere that is unsafe. I now know. Made reservations for a week stay to do some crabbing and fishing. Was quoted $506 for the week with a military discount and a special that was running at the time of setting the reservation. Got there after a 10 hour drive about 6:00 P.M. The receptionist was pleasant but ended up charging us more than quoted by $200.00. Would not listen at all. So we had no choice but to take the room. When we entered the room, it was filthy, cabinet knobs were missing, cabinet face on cabinet was missimg, the beds looked like they were used. Bathroom was in same shape. So we went down and got the nice lady and brought up to the room. She then took us over to another room, which was a lot better except the bathroom floor was sticky, like your shoes were sticking to the floor. She explained they didn't have anyone to clean, so just hollar if you need anything. My wife got extra towels from her, got down on her knees and cleaned the damn floor. then marched down to show her how dirty the towels were. Nothing done about anything. Was supposed to have a continetal breakfast, nope. One morning, no coffee, no cups. Had to wait till someone finally got there. No cleaning of the room for a week. Restaurant was not open till last night there. Swimming pool wasn't open, was filthy anyway. I would never recommend this hotel! Ever! read more

While I am not very tolerant to ambient noise I feel I need to express my disdain for this hotel and the terrible customer service I encountered. I stayed here one night before a bike race and tried to go to bed around midnight. I could hear anyone walking/talking down the hallway, any time a door opened or closed and my neighbors to the right or maybe even under us were having a party. I went to the front desk and asked the guy if the hotel had ear plugs, he said no and asked why. I told him and his response was "oh, this hotel is great!" "The walls are 7 inches thick but not insulated" and then he said "if you are so sensitive, why don't you bring your own ear plugs". I was, at this point, infuriated. He said he would try to figure out where the noise was coming from and I went back to my room and the noise continued till past 1am. This place has comfortable bed and an abundant amount of pillows. We came down for the 3rd of July to watch the fireworks and this place was the spot to be. The fireworks were o er the bay so we didn't have to leave the hotel. We went in the backyard and enjoyed the festivities. Now the pool was ice cold not heated like they advertise. The shower needed some work it sprayed water everywhere. The tack strip between the bathroom and the main room had tacks stocking through the carpet. There was bird poop all over the window. The to go breakfast was a joke! Overall I'd stay here again but this place is not a resort. read more

Love this place so far, it's not that crowded for a Tuesday afternoon in August, we didn't have a microwave in our room and they were very fast about getting us one!! My buddy's room next door which is dog friendly had an older TV and front desk brought him a flat screen instead of old box TV, so we could hook up our PS4s!!! (Free Wifi, no password required!!) so far it's nice and clean and quiet with a view of the bridge and bay leading to walport. Love this place cheap rates and dog friendly it's a must see little resort, if ur worried about everything being perfect this prolly ain't the hotel for you. They have been remodeling and working hard to get the place renovated with new carpet and furniture. Kids absolutely had a blast , you have the bay on one side of you about 50 feet away, and the ocean around the corner, and the ocean was beautiful at this location, tons of driftwood, kids and I made all sorts of cool forts and TPs!! It seems they didn't put new linens on beds as there was blood on a pillow case that wasn't a stain, it was fresh. The beds had no bed frames, matresses on floors. Cigarette butts all over our mini deck and outside our room. Half roll of tp and no tissues. The grounds haven't been mowed all summer. The walls were dirty, and there was mud in our tub. Stuck in Waldport for a night and decided to stay here as it was our only option. The place seemed empty and deserted when we got here. However, we were charged 109 dollars for the night in a room where the floor was dirty with debris and smelled like mildew. The grounds itself also seemed unkempt (dead grass, unswept walkways). The only good thing was that you could build your own fire out back with random sticks found on the ground. While the owner was very gracious, one concierge (Rebecca) was rude and had a horrible attitude. When we needed to get into a hotel car to retrieve something we forgot, she was difficult to work with and all but yelled at us. Awful place and definitely not a "resort", never stay here. read more

I paid for a week in advance. Then, on day four, they said I had to mover everything out of the room for most of the day. Despite me paying for the room, they wanted it back to spray pesticides in the room. Then, I was expected to move back in, after the spraying. I asked them wait until I moved out. They refused. However, they did tell another customer he wouldn't have his room sprayed...because he hadn't pre-paid and they wanted more money from him. Which is ironic...if they had waited to spray my room, I would have stayed there for several weeks. They lost lots of money on me...but managed to screw me out of three days and two nights of stay..."no refunds for the weekly rate..." The contract specifically said I rented the room for a week. They wouldn't let me use for the week...and...i was supposed to help them while they poisoned my room?!?!?!? read more

We paid $544.00 for a room with just a coffee maker and fridge. Upon my request they did put in microwave. There was supposed to be a "Breakfast" included. What they offered might have been considered a continental breakfast. Paying this much at other hotels which advertised "Breakfast Included" had just that, a breakfast. Not fancy, but eggs, some kind of meat, cereal, coffee, and maybe danishes. My friend whom went with me had an accident. She had her readers on and while trying to go outside she fell through the screen door. I had just been outside with my dog & I had left the screen open. When I came in, I closed it & she thought it was still open. I called the front desk. The front desk person came down and put the screen back together. The screen material was not damaged & the frame went back together except one corner where the plastic piece needed replaced. My friend invited her knee & wrist in the fall. Upon checking out, I was approached about the screen door. They wanted me to pay $100.00 to replace the whole screen. I told the the whole screen didn't need replaced, that only the corner plastic piece needed replaced. (I was an apartment manager for 3 years and dealt with "fixing" screens). They chose to force the issue that I needed to pay the $100.00. I didn't have an extra $100 and that they should use their accident insurance. That it was an accident & my friend was injured. They stood there & laughed. I have yet to hear from them about a solution. For what I paid, and didn't receive what was advertised, I would never recommend Alsi Hotel. Nice view. The service was terrible. I arrived to find the staff all drinking in the bar. The rooms are super cramped. "Continental breakfast" consisted of 2 tubs of cereal and a few manufactured muffins and donuts. I was here for a wedding and they failed to appropriately service the event. Brides maids and guests had to set up the tables and chairs. The bar and restaurant were closed, so no food or drinks were available. The surly staff were completely uninterested in finding ways to improve the situation. Perfect opportunity to make a little money and please the guests. Waiting for the service to begin, we got kicked out of the (closed) bar and the restaurant lobby. The poor bride used the word "nightmare" several times. Really disappointing on every level. While expensive for what you actually got, the hotel wasn't terrible. The staff is very small and I saw our receptionist who checked us in was also cleaning the rooms. We had to use a courtesy phone to call someone to check us in. The room was small and kind of dirty. There was a bottle that said, "acid free bowl cleaner" left in the bathroom. That was pretty off putting, but it meant the toilet was clean. The bed was supposedly a queen, but was much smaller than my queen at home. The view of the bay was nice and when we opened our windows at night, the breeze was great. I don't believe there was air conditioning, but there was a ceiling fan. The worst part was the party that was happening below our window outside. Some guests were having a bonfire and they were laughing so loud we had to close our window. That killed our wonderful breeze right away. Also, a few rooms away someone had their infant with them. The walls are very thin. We heard the crying baby all morning and all night. That was unpleasant. Between all the noise we were able to enjoy the sound of gulls in the morning when we opened our window again around 5 am. That was lovely. We didn't check out the restaurant or the breakfast. We brought some bananas with us. Some tips if you plan to stay: 1. Put out the door sign that requests cleaning service if you want your room cleaned. I don't think they check every room because of the small staff. 2. If you're going to arrive after 9 pm, let them know. They go home and there won't be anyone to check you in. 3. Beds are VERY soft. If you have trouble on soft mattresses, bring pain pills for your bad back. 4. Check out is early, 11 am. Check in is at 3 pm. 5. Parking fills quickly at night and some guests let their dogs wander unleashed. Be careful not to hit any dogs with your car. 6. You have to drive to the beach. You have a nice view of the bay, but if you want the ocean it's a short 5 minute drive. Here's my takeaway: this place is good in a pinch. My boyfriend and I planned an impromptu beach weekend and this place had a room. Would we stay again? Maybe. It's nice to support a local small business, but their prices are very high. We likely will end up staying in Florence, Yachats, or Newport and skip Waldport next time. Waldport is just such a small town with not much to offer since it's largely residential, but it's not bad for a quiet weekend. read more

We paid over $200 for kitchenette "suite" to find goodwill grade utensils and mix n match pans etc. I'm not quite sure why it's called a resort as it has nothing any resort I've ever been to has. Alsi Resort review: Do not stay at this hotel! It is dirty, the staff is dishonest, and they will try to charge you fines for issues they had made up. My friend and I made the mistake of staying here only to be discover that not only did we sleep on nasty pee stained mattresses, but we were then charged a cleaning fee for that luxury! We happened to see a large old yellow stain at the head of the mattress because the fitted sheet accidentally came off the corner of the bed in the morning. The stain was old and dry. We decided to not complain about it and just leave, only to get a voicemail a half hr later stating our credit card has been charged a cleaning fee for staining the mattress! We returned back to the hotel to dispute the charge, were made to wait for the house keepers to return, then the manager refused to come up to the room with us to even look at the mattress. We went up with the house cleaners who claimed that the stain was wet and therefore made by us. They showed us the stain, which by this pint was wet due to staff attempting to clean it. The stain was right under where my friend's head was while we slept, so I said that if the bed was wet as they had claimed, one of the pillows would also be wet. I felt all the pillows and they were all dry. The house cleaners kept trying to get us out of the room, but my friend stood her ground and asked to look at the mattress of the second bed - surprise the other mattress was also covered with the same old yellow stains! When we came back to the front desk, the manager continued to refuse to refund our money or come up and look at the room, stating that he trusts his house cleaners and their report. Meanwhile one of the house cleaners blatantly lied to our face and stated that the pillows were also wet. We demanded the name and contact info for the hotel owner, but the manager, Mike, refused. When he realized that we were not going to leave without getting the cleaning fee refunded, he eventually begrudgingly refunded it. We never received an apology and continued to be falsely accused of staining their old dirty mattress. It was apparent that both the manager and the house keepers were in on this scam. We couldn't believe that people could be this unscrupulous and dishonest. P.S. this is no resort, just a dirty hotel with shady employees. read more

Everything up and down the coast was booked, so we made reservations here for one night. Definitely NOT a resort, more like a motel. Staff was nice, but rooms were a disappointment. We had a nice view of the parking lot. Room was dated and dirty. The room had a funky mildew smell. The bathroom was the only thing that had been updated, but the grout had mildew as did the shower curtain. Additionally, there was soap scum in the tub. The beds were super uncomfortable. When I first came into the room, I noticed that the very dated bedspreads were dragging on the floor. When I lifted it up, I realized why. The box spring was resting right on the carpet and not on a bed frame! It was not a very restful night of sleeping. Heating is with a baseboard heater and there is no a/c, just an overhead dusty fan. No outlet behind the nightstand. Lamp and clock were plugged into an extension cord. Microwave, fridge and safe in room. However, I would pass on this one. read more

I feel bad giving this place two stars cuz the people working here are trying very hard. There are two young women who worked the front desk and were the waitress in the restaurant. We saw no maids so we assumed they also turn down the rooms. They are basically running this entire complex and doing their best in a very bad situation. We booked our room from hotels.com and basically paid motel 6 rates. So I can't complain too much. It was better than most motel 6s I've stayed in, but not much. You get what you pay for, right? We arrived and there was maybe one other person staying there, asked for a room with a view and was told it would be $20 more per night. Room was dirty, outdated and the walls are paper thin! The mattress kept an indent from sleeping in it. Our backs hurt so bad from it. Unfortunately, we had booked for a week.
