Her staff were super friendly, coming outside to greet me and direct me indoors as a new patient. Wow. The technician who did my X-rays was warm and efficient. Dr. Senstad did my cleaning since it was my first visit, and she was equally warm, with a direct, honest assessment. She used the horrible ultrasonic cleaner as little as possible, preferring a good old fashioned pick to carefully scrape the tartar. I hadn't been to a dentist in 13 months because of insurance change and losing my home in the Eaton Fire, but despite the gap, she said everything was thankfully in reasonable shape and to return in 6 months. She did not try to sell me anything extra like super-expensive antibiotic treatments not covered by my PPO. This is in stark contrast to every other dentist I've visited, who offered that and more, including having me visit every 3 months. I always wondered if I were being overly managed at the other practices, but not here. Do yourself a favor and sign up with her before her practice fills up!

Recently got Delta Dental, and this was the office assigned to me. Be aware, they are only open two…read moredays a week. I arrived 15 mins early in case there was paperwork to be filled out, and there was. I will say, the front office girls were very nice and very helpful. HOWEVER... I was in because I lost a crown. I still have the tooth underneath and just needed a temporary for now. I got my X-rays done. I've seen plenty of dental xrays and these were just masses of blurry blobs on the screen. Once done, I was sent back out to the waiting room. Eventually, I was moved into an exam room. Read an entire magazine while I waited. 90 mins after my appt, the doctor came in. He proceeded to poke into my mouth with a small mirror and started to WIGGLE one of the root tips in my mouth while giving instructions to the nurse. I tried to stop him, but the man was on a mission. He went over my entire mouth multiple times, changing the numbers he gave the girl more than once, obviously confused. While he poked and prodded and mumbled, he was LEANING IN MY SHOULDER AND FOREHEAD LIKE I WAS A DESK!!!! I might as well have had IKEA stamped on my head! THEN, he says the crown next to the missing one needs to be replaced. O_O. The 'crown' he spoke of is NOT A CROWN but a real tooth. He left, and the front office girl came in and told me my total would be close to $3,000. I have insurance, so I got a discount! I made another appointment just to be polite to the girls up front, since I was pretty much in shock. I could still feel the heel of the man's hand imprinted on my forehead. I'd rather go without the crown than ever return.

The quality of care in my experience is not consistent. The first time I had a dental cleaning it…read morewas lovely and the hygienist took their time, was thorough and gentle, and overall wonderful. The second time I went in, they were delayed starting as no one was at the front desk and then I proceeded to have the worst dental care experience. The hygienist spent time fiddling with the music and volume, cited the wrong side of the mouth they were about to clean (it was a deep cleaning so divided into two sessions) and had to correct them. They were actively hurting me and grabbing the side of my cheek several times throughout the process. I asked them to pause several times during the cleaning. At the initial numbing injection, I had never felt pain like that during a dental procedure and when I flinches, they just gripped my cheek harder and pushed the needle quicker. As this was my second cleaning with them, it was a total 180 degree experience to the one I had the first time with a different hygienist. This cleaning was also done far quicker than the first one. In retrospect, I should have left before the procedure started when the hygienist was indicating they were not prepared. I have empathy that everyone has a bad day, but when it involves medical care, it is different when physical harm and emotional harm is being done. I spoke to the receptionist after when I was in shock and they were very empathetic but said this hygienist had been with them a long time and was rated positively. I emailed the company through their website later and never received a response. When they texted me later to schedule a follow up appointment I expressed that I was not going to continue as I had such a horrible experience. They apologized and said they would not schedule me with the same hygienist. I was disappointed the company did not reach out to me after my email regarding my experience.

I had cracked a tooth and my dentist had sent me to a root canal specialist. The root canal specialist tried to numb me twice but even after the second dose I was in extreme pain anytime he touched my cracked tooth. My mom had had a similar problem before and recommended me to Dr. Henriod who she really liked. When I came to Dr. Henriod, first of all the parking is SUPER easy and convenient. The office has its own private lot right in front of the building, so no worrying about trying to find parking or having to park in some garage and figure out how to get to the office. Secondly, the office itself is very comforting. The high ceilings and cozy atmosphere make you feel at ease when you are undoubtedly in pain. All of the office fixtures are well kept and clean and there's little touches like a coffee machine that really make the place feel welcoming. Next is the office staff. Dr. Henriod has some really great office staff who are not only friendly and helpful, but also intelligent and perceptive. I can't tell you how many dr.'s offices I've been to who are good doctors but the office staff is unfriendly and not pleasant to work with. Not Dr. Henriod's staff, they are all very welcoming and also great at explaining things and answering questions. I had to come in several times for my procedures and the whole process of scheduling appointments and rescheduling when necessary was always a pleasant one. One thing I really appreciated is that after my initial consultation, a staff member sat me in an office and walked me through line by line what the costs of my procedure would be for the implant. They were very upfront and transparent about the costs and there were no hidden fees or upsells or anything like that. They also were great about working with me to try to bill insurance so that my own personal costs would be lower. Finally, and most importantly, is Dr. Henriod's skill at what he does. For the amount of pain I was in, I can't imagine anyone else extracting my tooth. He is very personable and really gives off an aura that makes you feel comfortable entrusting him to do a good job. He very skillfully handled the entire procedure and his constant words of encouragement and communication with me really made the process more bearable. Even though I couldn't actually see my mouth, Henriod's motions just felt very practiced and precise, more than any dentist I've been to. Based on that experience alone I would recommend Dr. Henriod, but it doesn't stop there. After getting my tooth extracted, Dr. Henriod also put in an implant, which was a painful process but Dr. Henriod really made it the best it could be. After my implant was done he sent me to my own dentist to have a crown done. When the mold for the crown was being taken the process was very lengthy and uncomfortable. When the crown was put in the process was also difficult and the crown just felt "off" as it would move around a little when I chewed. Later on I started having a lot of pain in that area and I went back to my dentist who sent me back to Dr. Henriod who informed me that it had gotten infected because the crown was not in properly. Dr. Henriod gave me some meds to tame in infection then told me to come back to get a new implant done. When I came back the second time he said my gums actually looked okay and that I could just get a new crown, but rather than send me back to my dentist who botched my first crown he did it right there on the spot for free! I was shocked at I paid my dentist quite a pretty penny to do my crown. I wanted Dr. Henriod to do the crown either way and would have been happy to pay but when I left everyone just wished me the best and I was on my way. Here's the thing, when my dentist (who I've been going to for years and i've had many procedures done with and is very highly reviewed on yelp by the way) was doing my implant it just felt clunky and not smooth, but when Dr. Henriod did it it was quick and easy. Not just the part about putting in the crown itself, but also the process of taking the mold for the crown. Having that side by side comparison of the same procedure made me really appreciate how skillful Dr. Henriod is. Anyway, long story short, Dr. Henriod is a man of true character and I would trust him with anything. He offers a money back guarantee that if something happens with your procedure he'll re-do it for free, and he really backed that up in my case when he went above and beyond to fix what my dentist had messed up. If you are looking for a periodontist and can't decide where to go you need to stop searching and just go to Dr. Henriod.
