Recently got Delta Dental, and this was the office assigned to me. Be aware, they are only open two days a week. I arrived 15 mins early in case there was paperwork to be filled out, and there was. I will say, the front office girls were very nice and very helpful. HOWEVER... I was in because I lost a crown. I still have the tooth underneath and just needed a temporary for now. I got my X-rays done. I've seen plenty of dental xrays and these were just masses of blurry blobs on the screen. Once done, I was sent back out to the waiting room. Eventually, I was moved into an exam room. Read an entire magazine while I waited. 90 mins after my appt, the doctor came in. He proceeded to poke into my mouth with a small mirror and started to WIGGLE one of the root tips in my mouth while giving instructions to the nurse. I tried to stop him, but the man was on a mission. He went over my entire mouth multiple times, changing the numbers he gave the girl more than once, obviously confused. While he poked and prodded and mumbled, he was LEANING IN MY SHOULDER AND FOREHEAD LIKE I WAS A DESK!!!! I might as well have had IKEA stamped on my head! THEN, he says the crown next to the missing one needs to be replaced. O_O. The 'crown' he spoke of is NOT A CROWN but a real tooth. He left, and the front office girl came in and told me my total would be close to $3,000. I have insurance, so I got a discount! I made another appointment just to be polite to the girls up front, since I was pretty much in shock. I could still feel the heel of the man's hand imprinted on my forehead. I had a 4pm appt 45 minutes later my cleaning hadn't even started so I left. Before that they had told me I have 4 cavities, went to another doctor who said I had none-- totally unethical. The reason I left early was because they cancelled on me twice with no apology, very unprofessional. I am submitting a complaint to the dental board about the lies about me having 4 cavities. read more

I made my first appointment with Washington Dental Group in Pasadena and the front office staff was lovely. I made the appointment for an xray and cleaning, yet after my xray they told me that they had to get approval for my cleaning another time. This has NEVER happened and I've had the same insurance for years. They said they'd get back to me within two days, and it's been about three months now and I've gotten nowhere with them! I've called many many times and either no one answers, apparently they're only in that location a time or two a week! I've left messages, talked with people who say they're not who I need to speak with, one lady even told me that she "thinks" my copay would be $130 for my cleaning! It's been $25 for years elsewhere. There also told me, after my xray, that I needed cavities filled, crowns replaced, wisdom teeth removed; all of which another dentist (whom I've since had to pay out of pocket because WDG billed my insurance!) said I didn't need any of. What a truly awful and disheartening experience. Not to mention very shady and dishonest, and I didn't even get my cleaning out of it! To date, NOONE has called me back for months. read more

Same experience as others here; Sadly, this neighborhood place won't work for me. I was told because I am HMO the dentist could only see me/ talk to me after taking x-rays. I wanted to meet him first to establish a patient/dentist trust relationship (considering the horrible reviews here). So, I called my insurance and NO, the is no such stipulation. I called the dental office back and they changed their story: now they say it's the dentist's stipulation. It's your judgement if this is lying. This is literally the worst place to come for dentistry. I just called to confirm my appointment and the receptionist was really really uneducated and rude to me. She couldn't understand anything I said at all : "I want to speak to the dentist about my crown replacements during my appointment" and this genius replies "oh so we can't have the dentist come to the phone" ---wow! That level of ignorance is baffling. Not only that, this is just another dental office that uses scare tactics (like the media) to coerce you to spend unnecessary money. Stay away! Dr Yazdani and his staff were incredible. They took really good care of me when I came in to get my Jaw looked at, and they gave me really good recommendations for an orthodontist. I have come back several times since to get my teeth cleaned and fillings done, and I would recommend this office to anyone needing to get dental work. The techs Edward and Jose are really lovely, personable and always on top of it, as well as Maria and Raquel that usually do all the check ins and the paperwork. I really tried to give this dental office a shot, but I have been disappointed with my experiences. I would not recommend this dental office. - I first made an appointment for x-rays and a teeth cleaning last year. The first available appointment was a couple weeks out. The day of the appointment I received a call that the dentist had overbooked and needed to reschedule my appointment. Again the first available appointment was several weeks out. Once I complained, they kept my original appointment. - More recently I contacted the office to obtain a night guard. My appointment was at 5:00 p.m., which the receptionist had indicated was the last of the day. I got there early and was not seen until 5:50 p.m. When I went up to the front desk to ask what was taking so long, the receptionist was packing up to go home and acted like she had forgotten that I was there. She said, "Oh! I'm sorry. The dentist will see you in just a few minutes." I was very annoyed as I had left work early just to sit in the waiting room for 1 hour. The appointment itself took less than 10 minutes. The dentist apologized and said he had surgeries that took longer than expected. I told him nobody informed me of the delays. He then gave another excuse that the front staff is busy on the phones dealing with insurance companies. The dentist told me I could pick up the night guard the following week and he would make sure it fit properly. My appointment was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. I had to go into work late in order to make this appointment. I arrived promptly at 9:30 a.m. The receptionist handed me the night guard and said I would have to come back to see the dentist if there were any issues. I asked why she scheduled me for an appointment when the dentist was not in the office. She said the office is closed on Fridays and it is her paperwork day. I expressed my dissatisfaction and she then offered to check to make the night guard fit properly, even though she is not a dentist. As I was leaving I had to remind her that I owed the remaining balance for the night guard, which was honest of me seeing as the dentist was not even available to see me to make sure the night guard fit and the customer service was less than stellar. read more

Recently came here after a switch in insurance caused my lifelong dentist to not be covered anymore and this was the closest covered provider to me. I had gone to my regular dentist 2 months before who told me I needed a couple of fillings but that was it. I came here for a consultation to try to get the work done here, and they took x rays and looked at my teeth for about 5 minutes and said I needed fillings on almost all my teeth and a root canal. That sounded weird to me so I called my old dentist who offered to give me a second opinion for free. I requested they give a copy of my records to me at the front desk and they were kinda sketchy about it and refused to release them, said the other provider would have to request them because it's against HIPAA to release to me directly? Weird, never had a problem with that from any other healthcare provider. When I was finally able to obtain the records and make an appointment with my old dentist, he said he couldn't tell by their very dirty and incomplete x rays and his examination any evidence of me needing a root canal, and only diagnosed me with needing 3 fillings, but took another x ray of the tooth I apparently needed a root canal on and still couldn't see any evidence that I needed one. To be safe, he referred me to an endodontist for a consultation. He looked at the new x ray and did an exam and some sensitivity tests on the tooth and determined I definitely didn't need a root canal. Don't go to Washington Dental unless you want to get scammed and receive lots of unneeded invasive dental work! Glad I got a second and third opinion. read more

My daughter had an appointment that was made over 6 months ago at 10am this morning. Diane the receptionist greeted us with questioning whether my daughter should even be there for her checkup. She is 18 months with most of her teeth in ...dentist checks for cavities at this age. After waiting another 30 minutes in reception, Diane informed me that she had lost my daughter's paperwork and she can't seem to find it from our last appointment, so now I had to fill it out again, Wow! After a full 60 minutes now of waiting to see the dentist, there was no communication about what is goi g on. This is really starting to get ridiculous! Diane asked if I would like to reschedule this whole appointment over again for some other time because the dentist is not even in the office yet. I said no, we've have been waiting here an hour already, we will do some errands and be back in 30 minutes. We come back, and still not taken for our appointment. It is now 90 minutes into this whole ordeal for what literally turns out to be a 2 minute toddler teeth checkup from the dentist. I absolutely hate to write a negative review, but this experience with Washington Dental Group deserves a mention. Diane could not have been more rude to my daughter and I this whole morning. No communication and poor service. read more

Dr. Yazdani has assisted me in 2 root canals and I can only expect to receive the upmost professionalism and service that I require in the future. If no stars were available that's what I'd give them.. When I went for my exam and x-rays they told me I needed a root canal and fillings.. And I was gagging a LOT from the way she was maneuvering the x-ray equipment.. I was experiencing discomfort but I didn't think I had cavities and they quoted me $90 to clean my teeth. I went for a second opinion, I did NOT gag as she was so gentle, and was advised I had no cavities and was quoted $60 for my teeth to be cleaned.. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

Not a good experience with this place on the phone. I called to set up an appointment because I know I need fillings done and the girl who was polite asked if I was calling for the Pasadena or Yorba Linda office "Funny" I thought I dialed the number listed for Pasadena. So after hearing some steady pulsing tones she comes back on the phone she asks if I'm calling for Pasadena or Yorba Linda again. Then tells me that I have to wait to be seen until August 23rd when I'm having issues now. And I explain I'm having issues now and she says that they can get me in tomorrow and only do one problem tooth and id have to go back for the rest. Not the best experience. I've been to plenty of dentist and I've never had a basic cleaning as basic as this one. They said my insurance only covered basic so they couldn't go further to clean the tarter. So if I wanted it cleaned deeper it would be $100. Every other office I've ever been too has cleaned my teeth a lot better and hasn't tried charging me more money. I could be brushed my teeth better than the girl cleaned my teeth. Disappointed and wasted an hour and a half for them to figure out other ways to charge me. I don't have the best work life balance, and she was able to find an accommodating time for me to visit the Dr. I was surprised that she remembered speaking with me a week earlier, she asked me how work was & was very friendly( which i appreciated). After reading some reviews, I can see that my experience was not unique. The office was dirty, and I was charged an extra $100 because I was told a needed a "deep" cleaning and my insurance didn't cover it. Along with that, I also had to wait two hours to see the dentist although only one person was in front of me and no one had been seen for the day yet! We were told that the dentist had to go to a meeting suddenly and we just had to wait til he got there. The receptionist was nice even though it seems like the dentist did these sudden meetings all the time and she probably gets yelled at a lot by patients for things that are out of her control. Oh, and I guess they use the protective sticky sheets now so I gave them at least two stars, which I still think is pretty generous. The receptionists seem to be a little disorganized (I had to wait 30 min first time I got there, the office staff promised to call me to give updates regarding my insurance but never did and I had to call them etc), however the doctor was very attentive and made sure I was comfortable during the visit.
