These are crappy sausages served on crappy cheap buns by a guy who is a total jerk. The sausages say they are "natural", but in fact contain dextrose, corn syrup, smoke "flavoring", tocopherols, and citric acid. Yuck! They made me feel sick after ingesting them. I do not recommend trying this horrible brand when there are way better products out there! Happy eating! read more

This is my second or third trip eating here since 2011/2012... it's been a while and still tastes great. I lived in Germany for a while, Hanover, and glad to see I can still find authentic German cuisine in Portland. There were actually a few German restaurants back in 2010/2011 and since they have faded, unfortunately. Happy to see this one is still here. I ordered, of course, an original single bratwurst with onions, garlic and sauerkraut. So simple, yet so delicious and filling. I could've ordered another, but I need control... I highly recommend this place if you're looking for top of the line, fresh made and authentic German food. They have plenty of other options too and apple strudel. I had the misfortune of ordering food from them at the Christmas Market at Seattle Center. I have literally eaten thousands of Brats in my life. I ordered 5 of them for me and my family. Not one of us not even my 19 year old and 13 year old Son could eat them. They were disgusting! They tasted like they had been made a year ago and left out in the Sun! Also the bread was hard and old! Definitely the most disgusting food I have ever been served! Stay away like the plague! read more

This is one fine sausage truck. Altengartz brats are definitely home-made, and have that char grilled flavor you can only get by grilling. The bun was nice and toasty. I went with the garlic one, added sauerkraut and cheese it was delicious. Very friendly staff and speedy delivery. I'll be back! read more

I had the day off and decided to visit this new food cart pod in Beaverton. After walking around seeing all the options, I selected this cart for my lunch. I had a bratwurst combo. It's $10, until you add extras to the brat, which wasn't clear on the menu board. A really limited menu. I ordered and was told it would take about 10 minutes. Seems a bit long as they weren't busy, but I wasn't in a hurry. I have to say, the bratwurst is fantastic. Seasoned wonderfully and not at all greasy. I would definitely purchase the uncooked for the BBQ at home. The baked beans were awesome too. The right hint of mustard in them. The potato salad was good, but just a touch tangy for my tastes. It was all hot and fresh. I saw him making it up. I plan to be back. read more

I have a gluten allergy and they were able to make it gluten free for me, which I really appreciated. Thr sausages are naturally gluten free, by the way! The owner is a really friendly guy. Absolutely fantastic, authentic brats! Everything else I've tried is great too. The sloppy fritz and potato salad are also standouts and everyone should try their Apple Strudel at least once in their life. My one complaint is that they have a number of add-ons like Swiss cheese, grilled garlic and onions, etc. that are great, but cost extra and this isn't made clear on the menu. read more

I'd skip the potato salad. Portion wise it's good. Price wise it's too expensive. Brat was good. I got a double. Stock would have been better since it's all crammed into one bun. All the cats in the food pod charged way too much for soda, but since it's s food pod you can bring your own beverage. $15 for a double brat with cheese,(guess you get charged double on the cheese even though it's only one item when you get it, a German Potato Salad and a bottle of water. Why did he ask for s tip? He only gave me one small napkin. I won't go back, but it wasn't all bad. read more

This place is legitimately the best Authentic Bratwurst I've ever had. If you like "real" German/Wisconsin Brats, this is the place for you.
