I have been a loyal customer for a year until this week when I met David for the first time. I was late for 10 minutes with a pre-notice so I said "okay" to every compromise I had to make, when the front desk (who was rude too) told me that I would have to accommodate a junior stylist and will not get a blowout. As a single working mother of a toddler kid, I did not mind at all, because it was the only 30 minutes I could squeeze out to get my haircut that I have longed for 6 months. Then came with David who kept brushing my hair with a thin comb so hard and so close to my ears as if he was going to cut my ears off. I walked out of the place charged with $90 with wet hair, because he dried my hair for 2 minutes but no junior stylist ever showed up to take over to further dry up my hair (I was not expecting a blow out at all, since I agreed to the arrangement, but at least walk out with dry hair lol!). My friend who picked me up was a witness for how red my ears were, because David kept brushing my hair and scalp so hard that I almost cried. I also heard from other patrons that they were offered tea/coffee whenever they went, but I was only offered the first time. The last time when I finished my haircut and waited in the waiting area for 20 minutes for uber, I recalled that the front desk lady was gossiping with a customer loudly to complain about another customer for the entire time (totally unprofessional) so do not share any personal details with anyone working there!

I certainly found my lucky charm at the end of that rainbow with Dana. The salon is beautifully designed, and I was greeted immediately at the door and given a nice silk robe. They sat me down, and I was offered a beverage. Dana immediately came over with a smile on her face, and listened to every request i made. She walked me through what she wanted to do, and made suggestions along the way. She took her time with me, rather than rushing back and forth between clients. Highlighting blondes can take hours, and she did not spare any expense at ensuring everything was perfect. She's fun to be around, and was honest about how to care for and color my hair moving forward. I left the salon and at least 5 people commented on my walk out of SAKS how much they loved my blonde. Don't waste time and shed tears over a bad hair dye job: GO SEE DANA IMMEDIATELY! I saw Tom for my haircut, and was blown away by how friendly and personable he was. He took his time, and even had me stand to cut my hair to make sure it was perfect. After blowing it out, he went through my hair again to make sure that no hair was out of place. He also was not too scissor happy, so my growing locks were thankful! Also note that the salon carries so many haircare lines, from Kerastase to oribe and even phytomer. She gave both options and I asked for threading on my eyebrows and wax on my upper lip. I asked for cleaning my brows and not to thin them out and she did it as requested. The wax was applied with a lot of extra margin covering my lips and corners of my nose. She cleaned the excess off later but she was better with thread and did need to go back to clean off remaining hairs that were not removed by the wax. $20 for brows and $10 for lip without tip. Definitely higher than a lot of places but it was done well and very efficient.

Today I decided to go there and dye my hair. It was strange as they called me two days ago to let me know to come earlier and that someone else from the person that I had booked online would take care of me. The person who was dying my hair for a year now is not there anymore. Most of the people who were taking care of me before are not there anymore. Today it was the worst experience ever! I am really disappointed with the service. My hair looks awful. I wish I have not used them. My advice as I run my own business--The staff should be more caring about customers and should not experiment with other people's hair. The difference of colors on my hair was absolutely obvious. My hair before was a clear blond color and now the roots are yellow/brown! They were pretending that was all great instead of trying to fix the problem before me paying and leaving the premises. As soon as they told me that I was done with the styling and hair treatment, I approached the register to pay and it was there I made the complaint. The staff knew in advance that they performed malpractice on my hair treatment. They were hoping that I would not have noticed but I stayed silent until I go to the register. I understand that people can make mistakes but no one has owned up to it to say I am sorry. They were making me feel that they were the victims when indeed they had control of my hair and head. If you love and respect your hair, you will not commit color suicide to your hair.
