Upon arrival, the place was not busy and they were able to measure me and hem my pants in 15 minutes. The price was around $15. What an excellent service. I don't recommend this place to anyone. The seams of a dress for a wedding presentation were misaligned and they cut the fabrics wrong. I went there twice to fix my dress but what they did to fix it was terrible, they didn't fix my dress correctly; so after the second time I decided to do it myself or go to another better place. read more

I called in late May to get alterations on my bridal dress for my wedding in September, and they told me to call back in June because it was "just too early." I called back in early/mid June, and their next available appointment was on July 25th. Canton was all booked up, and Strongsville has been a bit more professional and open. I will travel if it means having things done earlier and a good experience. My advice is to not let anyone tell you to wait. Have them schedule it for you right then and there! read more

Rude rude rude. I was pleasantly pleased when I received an email stating my order was ready for pickup early. I stopped after work one morning and waited 45 minutes for them to open . I was greeted, when they did open their doors, by one of the most angry insolent attitudes I've ever encountered . I was scoffed at that I would infer that my whole order would be ready based on the email stating my order was ready for pickup . She basically threw my jacket on the counter and said come back on the day they said it would be ready. Very angry person thst obviously isn't enjoying her work. read more

I have used Alterations Express a half dozen times now, and I just picked up a dress shirt and suit I had tailored. As usual, the work was spot on, and the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. I appreciated getting feedback on how much tailoring to get done without them being pushy. I paid a little extra to get one sleeve on my dress shirt shortened (their suggestion) as well one suit sleeve lengthened (I have one arm longer than the other) and the suit & shirt lengths are now spot on! I wouldn't have thought to adjust the shirt too, but it was well worth it. They also tapered my pants as well as lengthening them, which updated the look of the suit. Alterations Express is first-rate...for hemming pants. Those of you that know me have likely heard me say that part of being a grown up is having a tailor - a real one. In my case, a tailor must be between 75 and 190 years old, male, and have a memorable accent. Yours could whatever, but to be taken seriously by yours truly, ensure that you have one. Anyways... Although I trust the kind folks at Alterations Express to hem pants while I wait (my wife insists that there is an awkward pants-optional waiting room where nobody looks anybody in the eyes), they do not - repeat, DO NOT - replace a tailor. I have had nothing but great experiences with them going above and beyond to ensure I was a happy client and it keeps me coming back with loads of pants long enough to make other pants when they're done with them! What did we learn here: This place shortens pants, and you should have a tailor. That is all. read more

Not sure I'm pleased about this...yet?!? Bought red dress @ American Commodore with my daughter for Homecoming. Dad took her for alterations with receipts & tags for Amer. Commodore. They said need coupon from A.C. To get discount...never was given coupon by A.C. or told needed one. Dad prepaid for alterations to get dress done in a timely manner. Would still like the discount ...come on, Alterations Express...you need to have a little business sense. Probably won't return for the next 5+ events unless you make it better for us !! Alterations were fine but the person who answered the telephone today would be collecting her last paycheck if she worked for me. I called to see if an order was ready and was asked to hold while she checked. After giving her the ticket number she still didn't have a clue what the status of my order was so she said she'd check and call me in five minutes. Twenty minutes later I called back and she asked to put me on hold for a minute while she checked (again). After sitting on hold for thirteen minutes I hung up and called back only to be asked what the item's were and put on hold again and told to check back later. You could tell by her voice she was bothered by having to look it up for me. At my shop, if my employees would ever greet a valued customer that way they'd be gone before the customer hung up the phone. read more

TOTAL rip off and even worse customer service. Took a formal in to be shortened, when I picked it up and checked the work, they had literally taken a pair of scissors and poorly cut 2 inches of fabric off of the bottom, there was no sewing or taping or gluing involved- the job must have taken 3 minutes tops. They proceeded to try and charge me $50 for the alteration. When I refused to pay $50 for a kindergarten cut job I was told I would have to come back in to speak with a manager. After 30 min on the phone with the manager, the price was reduced to $26. So I went form getting royally ripped off to totally ripped off. Next time I will buy a pair of fabric scissors and save myself some time and money. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

The small you lady at the front very rude wife had several items to be hemmed and on one item found a dog foot print, wife was givin rude lecture ( we don't take unwashed clothes) wife is 65yr old who does not need this treatment check her visa spent over 200 never again. read more

My first time here will also be my last. Took three pairs of dress pants in for alterations and request cuffs placed in the pants. Upon getting home to my surprise there were no cuffs in the pants but blind helms. Upon calling I was basically told I got what I requested although I do not own a pair of dress pants with a blind helm. Cant comply with simple instructions, buyer beware. read more

I brought a $400 two-piece suit here after wearing it only 4 times. I had it cleaned at another local dry cleaners, and it was returned to me in perfect condition. I brought it to Alterations Express, and they returned it to me ruined. The suit had a tiny poly trim on the breast of the jacket, which they clearly ironed over. My biggest issue is not the damage. Things happen. My issue is that I was not told when I picked it up, so when I got the suit home and removed the plastic, the melted trim was a shock to me. It got worse. I took it back, and I was told that they were not responsible because the manufacturer did not put any special instructions on the tag. Okay... The tag says "Dry Clean Only." Clearly, this indicates that someone with knowledge on how to clean the piece should be the only one to clean it. I've never seen a "Dry Clean Only" tag WITH instructions. I wanted the suit replaced, obviously, and I was told to leave the suit for a manager to take a look at it. I did that. When I returned a few days later, I was told that there was nothing that could be done since there were no special instructions on the tag. This must be their scripted response. I walked away with no resolution, and the worst part is that they did not even refund the cost of the cleaning. When I respectfully asked the employee about at least refunding the cost of the cleaning since it left my clothes unusable, she kept talking over me and saying it wasn't their fault. I literally paid them to ruin my suit. If nothing else, the fact that their work destroyed my clothing should have prompted them to refund the cost of the cleaning. I was outdone. This is a place that does great work on difficult alterations (replacing an invisible zipper, etc.), but for regular cleaning or simple hem jobs, DO NOT use them. read more
