They will do you dirty for parking. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND PARKING FOR AN EXTRA CAR IS $200 A MONTH. They do not tell you that until the last hour of signing the lease. During the application process we asked multiple people that worked for altitude, how much parking was. They said $40 per car - single lot, $60 for double lot. Even when filling out the application that is what it offered. We got approved - they then dropped the bomb saying it's $200 per single spot & then said we had a deadline to sign the lease by the end of the day or else our application will be disregarded. Me and my partner called ALL day talking to different people that sounded confused and said they will talk to management in regards to the issue. They didn't get back to us until we had one hour left to sign, saying "yeah sorry it's $200 let us know if you'd like to continue with the lease our office closes in an hour". We had no choice due to our personal moving situation. Absolutely dirty. On top of that they said we can park across the street (HHLA parking garage) & they gave us WRITTEN ON PAPER stating the parking was $105. - It's $150. - I also have written on paper the misinformation they gave me for the pricing that mentions nothing about the extra parking space for $200. Feel free to keep this in mind to avoid the misinformation they give you when applying. read more

First, the units are nice and modern and the location is convenient. Maintenance is usually prompt for repairs. But that's as far as it goes. They've added charges for guest parking earlier this year and just mandated $65/month for internet. Many have already complained about the bad WiFi signals, which is not good for those working remotely. Utilities are ridiculously priced here while other apartments charge a flat fee for utilities (aside from water). Water pipes are always bursting and have been an issue since I moved here last January 2024. I'm sure another hallway or parking structure pipe leakage is due to occur again soon. Heating from water is also a pretty frequent issue here. Security is virtually nonexistent and reported incidences via the Citizen app are not uncommon for our apartment complex for both buildings. The office is more invested in towing than on safety. Equity is greedy and prides itself on a market that pays for convenience, so they can care less about your complaints because they'll always have new residents coming in. However, those conveniences are slowly being chipped away. I suggest you consider other alternatives to live elsewhere, where you feel valued as a paying resident. read more

I am leaving an updated review for future residents. Please read this before considering moving here. We have been living here for four years; we will not renew our lease due to safety and theft, two major issues that have gone on for too long. CONS: - The package theft in the 6040 building has been ongoing for over a year. As a (poor) solution, management has left a note asking the delivery folks to deliver them directly to our door, which is hugely unfair to the drivers considering the number of packages they must deliver. I have spoken to my neighbors; many of them, including myself, have sent our packages elsewhere. Sometimes, packages will be delivered, and within 5 minutes, they're either gone or torn into. - There is little to no security in the building, so there have been multiple instances where homeless folks have made it into the building and slept in the stairwell, recently right in the front lobby. In other cases, wanderers have come in attempting to open doors. We used to have onsite security but haven't seen them in a while. - I've lost count of how often the fire alarm has gone off in the middle of the night/early in the morning. Additionally, the hot water has been turned off multiple times this year due to a leak or the broiler. At some point, you must wonder if they are even attempting to fix these issues or slapping a band-aid. - The building recently partnered with Airbnb, so there has been an increase in the number of travelers. Considering the number of vacancies, I can see why they did this. Still, there's been an increase in parking issues and disrespect to the property and residents (despite the rules they have written for residents who are a part of this program.) - There have been multiple cases of cars being broken into. For example, a Tesla with cameras caught the person entering their vehicle, yet management didn't do anything about it. PROS: - You're next to a nice park, near LAX, lots of places to shop/grocery. - The maintenance team is made up of amazing people. Don't be fooled by the high ratings. For whatever reason, folks are coming here to leave reviews on the maintenance team. They are great, but I wonder if they are incentivized to leave high reviews to boost the rating. Do not be fooled by how cute Altitude Apartments looks -- living here has been a frustrating experience. The outside areas are always messy, with dog poop everywhere and overflowing trash in the common areas. Parking is chaotic, and now they've added a $10 daily fee for guest parking, which just makes it worse. Communication from management is seriously lacking. We've had no notice for important things like parking lot cleanings (only told after it began), and we were told the day-of that fire alarms would be going off. We weren't home, and our pet was left terrified because we couldn't get back in time. On top of that, the office randomly closes with little to no notice, so getting help is hit or miss. When we first moved in, the apartment was filthy--definitely not cleaned before our move-in. One time, there was blood in the hallway (yes, blood), and it took way too much effort to get someone to clean it. No community notice, no urgency, even though the police were involved. The leasing office staff is rude and unhelpful--they often act like they just don't care. Our utility bills keep going up with no explanation, even though we've asked multiple times. We've also gone over two weeks without hot water, and there's been no communication or updates. Police are here often, but residents are never informed about what's happening or if there's a safety concern. It's unsettling. Lastly, package theft is constant. I saw it mentioned in other reviews and thought it wouldn't be a big deal--but it is. Packages go missing all the time, and management does nothing about it. All in all, this place is poorly managed, and the frustration isn't worth the price. I would not recommend living here unless major changes are made. read more

If you're considering living at Altitude Apartments in Los Angeles, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Over the last several years, I've had three close friends live here--across different units and different lease terms, starting from 2020 to the present--and the problems have been consistent and unacceptable. First and foremost: security and safety are virtually nonexistent. The management has allowed random, unauthorized people to occupy vacant units for months on end without paying rent. These squatters are not screened residents and have been repeatedly caught stealing packages from paying tenants. When confronted, management's response has been a dismissive "we can't do anything." In other words, they knowingly allow unsafe, disruptive individuals to live on the property, creating a constant threat to residents' belongings and peace of mind. On top of the security issues, basic maintenance is a nightmare: Elevators frequently break down, sometimes for extended periods. Water gets shut off for "maintenance" with little to no warning, happening so often it feels like part of the weekly routine. The garage gate that controls access to parking consistently malfunctions, leaving residents' vehicles vulnerable. And speaking of parking: guest parking was already extremely limited, but the building recently started charging guests to park, making it even less accessible. This is Los Angeles--most people rely on cars--and yet the complex has made it harder and more expensive for friends and family to visit. Finally, package theft is rampant. It's not just the squatters--this building's package area is completely unsecured, and stolen deliveries are a regular occurrence. Management has made it abundantly clear they do not consider this their problem. When rent prices are this high, tenants should at the very least be able to expect basic safety, reliable amenities, and competent management. Altitude Apartments delivers none of that. This is not just an overpriced apartment complex--it's an unsafe, poorly managed property that does not respect or protect its residents. If you value your safety, your belongings, or simply getting what you pay for, do not rent here. read more

I've been living at Altitude for a while now and overall, I'm pretty happy with the experience. The unit I live in is modern and nicely renovated, even though the building itself is quite old. They've clearly put in a lot of effort to update things, and it shows. Now, I want to give a special shoutout to Reggie from the maintenance team. He's the real MVP. I had a few issues pop up all at once--leaky toilet, a dead light bulb, and a washer that just wouldn't run. Not only did he respond to my maintenance request on a Sunday, but he also showed up the same day and knocked everything out quickly and professionally. Honestly, it's rare to get that level of service anywhere, and he deserves major recognition. If you're reading this Reggie--thank you! As for the apartment overall: Safety: Personally, I haven't had any issues, but I have seen community posts about strangers knocking on doors, so I'd say security is decent but could be a hit or miss depending on your luck. Neighborhood: One of the best parts. I love walking around here in the morning and evening--very peaceful and walkable. Pricing: For what you get, the pricing is very competitive. I looked at a bunch of other options nearby, and this one gave me the best mix of quality and affordability. The only real frustration I've had is with the leasing office, especially when it comes to handling anything that's not standard. They're good with the basics like signing leases or assigning parking. But if your situation requires anything beyond that--good luck. I recently switched units within the complex, and the system tried to charge me rent for both units. The office basically told me, "Just pay what you actually owe," which meant I had to sift through a ton of emails, do the math myself, and still deal with an incorrect balance showing up in the portal. Not the most comforting experience. Bottom line: the place is a solid choice overall, and if you ever have maintenance needs, you'll be in great hands--especially if Reggie's on the job. read more

This community is becoming dangerous, lacks security on site, and is nothing but a money laundering scheme for the landlords (some units around you may be ongoing Airbnb units with random turnover). As a current tenant who's paying in excess of $3,000k for a one bedroom - don't get lured in by their promo rate. You'll end up fighting for your life (literally and figuratively) your entire stay. Apartment break-ins, stolen packages, and animal fecees in the lobby/elevator/halls are common practice and don't expect to have anyone to turn to in leasing - they are unpleasant and uninteresed. I would not recommend living here since you will not be getting a "luxury" apartment experience for the high price you are paying for rent. The only pro of living here is the location, since it is right across from HHLA and next to the freeway which can get loud sometimes. It was great living here for the first 6 months then things went downhill. Since living here, hot water has gone off and on again random times the past couple months, packages get stolen all the time, and there is dog poop everywhere around the apartment since some owners don't care to clean up after their pets. There is a lack of parking (guest and residential) and we need to pay $30 for a spot, when other apartments have this included in the rent. If you did want an extra spot, it is an additional $200 which is absurd. Cars often get broken into and maintenance requests aren't answered promptly since I have a broken outlet that no one seems to care to fix. The gate for the garage was not working properly for about two years til they finally fixed it in March 2023, but it was sitting there in the garage for the past four months, also contributing to the lack of safety and lack of guest parking. The door for the gate to the resident parking garage also is not secured properly, since a key fob is not even needed to enter since it is always open. The amount we pay for a luxury apartment complex is not worth it when common areas are not taken care of properly (hot tub which has been broken since we moved in, garage, gym), especially after living at other apartment complexes that are cheaper and more taken care of. I've finally emailed management all of our problems and it took me 3 emails over 2 weeks to get one response, and another 4 follow ups over 3 weeks. Once you complain they seem to ignore your emails and your problems. They are even increasing out rent by $100 if we were to renew our lease which is ridiculous. This is not worth it and I don't recommend living here. read more

The fire alarm has gone off 3 times in the last month, once at 5am, the other 2 times at 12am. At least two of those times it was due to an issue with the system. I've had a leak in my apt that was never repaired. They just left sandbags in my Juliette balcony which basically took up the entire space. Once I came home and there were 2 maintenance people in my apt, saying that my alarm had been making noise, my next door neighbor confirmed this was not the case. Chris (manager) said it was a misunderstanding and hung up on me. My windows have never been cleaned in the 2 yrs I've been here, can barely see out of them. Elevator always broken. Stolen packages, almost never guest parking, the pool is always filthy and once I saw dog hair in there. I cannot recommend living here read more

The leasing office people are a joke. I had reserved a tour for a specific unit to rent for my 80 years old mother , took 3 hours of my time to leave work early so I can be on time with my elderly mother . Got there , got shown the property and was given the price breakdown for the specific unit I wanted and told to apply . I asked if I could apply right there , they mentioned that I can do it online . Not even 15 mins later , I went to apply and the link I was given no longer was showing the specific unit I was shown and interested in . I went back the following morning only to be told by Aliahs (the person who the unit ) that the apartment was rented before it was shown to me . So these guys knew ahead of my appointment that the apartment was taken yet they took no time to let me know or show respect for my time . I think the only way we can get their attention is by standing outside the leasing office warning everyone coming in to view apartments about this place so they won't have any new tenants! What a beautiful property!!! I made an appointment to see the one bedroom as well as a two bedroom I love them both. Anthony assisted me with my tour and gave me all pertinent information he was amazing. The apartment homes are very spacious walk-in closets washer and dryer in the units some of them even have kitchen islands. All of the amenities are very high end and I will give this apartment complex five stars! Out of all the places I've looked at near the airport this one ranks number one. read more

Unfortunately, since I wrote my review, management has changed approximately two times. Now we are not having the quality of service that we had before and this crew basically just tells you stuff to get you off the phone. Complaint #1 Pet Urine - the pet urine smell is reaking in the apartment hallways. I was told that the carpets were only shampoo TWICE a year. This is totally unacceptable. Pet owners are paying a deposit for their pets and a monthly fee. That is more than enough money for them to clean these carpets at least once a month or every other month. Complaint #2 - the Resident Directory box is constantly broken. We are unable to let our visitors in or receive deliveries. I was told that these were costly to fix? As much rent as we pay, shit in this, give them enough money to make repairs! I will definitely be moving when my lease ends in 2024. The only good thing now is the maintenance. Maintenance does a great job responding to service requests... specifically Reggie. I haven't had many service requests, but the ones Reggie has responded to he has been extremely professional. When I'm home he informed me of what was needed to complete the repair and was efficient. When I wasn't home he left a detailed note regarding what was serviced and instructions if I needed to follow up with maintenance. Reggie gets 5 stars! read more

DON'T MOVE HERE. For such a high rent price you would expect better management and safety. Look at the other 1 star reviews for accurate information. Honestly, don't kid yourself with the 4-5 stars, I was also tricked into thinking this apartment might not be 'that bad'. Of the two buildings, I hear 5900 is worse but my experience is with 6040. 1. Packages are stolen constantly. By residents, staff, and random strangers since the package room is accessible from the street. Management has done nothing useful to address this. 2. It's unsafe. There are reports of homeless people wandering the hallways. I couldn't enter the parking garage because someone had shot a gun and several police cars were stationed outside. Also, I live on the top floor, and there were a few weeks where I would hear footsteps at night. It turns out a homeless guy was living on the roof. Seriously? 3. It's unsafe. There have been multiple reports of cars being broken into in the garage. The gate is broken more than 50% of the time. Random cars park in resident spaces. Guest parking is always completely filled and it makes driving in and out of the garage tough with narrow driving space. There's also NO cellular service in the garage on any of the levels, even the top level where the mail room is located. 4. It's unsanitary. Shortly after moving in, I was notified that my apartment had to be treated for BED BUGS. I had already moved in, and with my pets and it was clear that they withheld this information until the last possible moment. There was also mold in my washer unit, and the kitchen sink was falling apart. There's always random furniture in the garage, pet feces in the elevator, cockroaches in the hallways, etc. It's disappointing and sad that management doesn't care about its residents. Despite all of these issues which THEY ARE AWARE OF, they ignore our concerns and just take our money. Included some screenshots + pictures of some concerns residents have been having. read more
