I loved NowRX. RIP At first Alto were good. Then they stopped offering to order specific brands of generics. Several medications only work with a specific brand for me. So they don't care to offer medications that work because it's cheaper not to. I switched to NowRX which I loved-and then they got bought by alto. ugh. Now I'm calling a bunch of pharmacies trying to find somewhere to fill the medications with a manufacturer that actually works. :( All to save themselves probably a couple bucks. And then they tried to charge my insurance $9,000 for a less than $600 medication. Like I'm not a huge fan of insurance, but they cover an expensive speciality medication that is expensive for real physical reasons to create the medication. And that medication is still less than $9K! Like WTF? the next highest cost I saw was $1200 at another pharmacy, but most were $600. On top of that I was waiting for a delivery today, and then I got a messaged it was canceled because I didn't confirm it. Except they didn't ask me to confirm, they just said it was coming in the app. The app is slow, annoying, has a terrible UI and I guess also buggy. I'm moving everything. They got greedy, and stopped taking care of their customers. My monthly medication costs that they bill are huge (even without the egregious $9k charge). I'm taking my business elsewhere. I prefer delivery because I'm immunocompromised but it's not worth the constant bs. read more

The first time we used Alto was for my granddaughters diabetic supplies. When the doctor told me Alto Pharmacy, I asked where they were located and she said San Jose and San Francisco. I thought "Oh heck no! I have to drive there to get the meds?" Then she told me they would deliver by the next day by 9:30pm. Sure enough, the next day, I got a text message the meds were on their way and it was delivered by 8pm. I then transferred ALL our prescriptions to Alto and it has been GREAT. I get notified when the meds are due to be refilled and when they will be delivered. I can change the delivery date if needed. I always get text messages that they are on their way and I can track the delivery. It's really nice not to have to go somewhere and wait to get medicines. My wife and I have used Alto pharmacy home delivery service for the past two years even though the cost to us for the medication was higher than if we had used Walgreens or CVS. We valued the delivery to our home and we felt we could rely on them. We just had the worst experience with Alto - at our time of greatest need. I had major surgery yesterday and was in need of very strong pain medication. My MD asked which pharmacy the order should be called in to. I wanted to spare my wife/ caregiver post-surgery a trip to the pharmacy and selected Alto. My wife had concerns about Alto's ability to fulfill this time sensitive, highly important order for pain medication. She contacted Alto in the early pm yesterday from the hospital to see if they were able to process the pain medication order in time for yesterday's 6-9 pm evening delivery. My wife explained that this pain medication was very much needed yesterday since I had just had surgery. Alto responded in writing that they would be able to make the same day delivery to our home of my pain medication. Based on that written assurance from Alto that they would be able to make the delivery yesterday evening, my wife agreed to the MD calling in the prescription to Alto. Most unfortunately, Alto did not perform as promised. Without a phone call or any checking with us they moved the delivery of the post surgery pain medication to this afternoon. Unbelievable!! All attempts to reach them and all attempts to obtain the medication from them yesterday evening - as they had promised - were unsuccessful. Our messages to them were simply ignored and the urgency of the situation brushed off. Suffice it to say, Alto's totally insensitive and irresponsible actions/inactions led to an extremely painful and miserable Post surgery evening and night for me. I have had to conclude that the Alto of today simply doesn't care about their customers and their service offering today is at an unacceptably low level. I will never use them again! I feel I need to warn other longstanding Alto customers that Alto has changed for the worse... they may well want to strongly reconsider placing reliance on Alto in the future for their prescription needs... read more

Run, don't walk away from this pharmacy! They are frequently out of ordinary meds so yours may well come late. One of my meds, came a full week late. In addition, they will arbitrarily decide not to carry certain meds. No reason or forewarning given. I am moving my prescriptions to another vendor ASAP. If you used to use NowRX, avoid Alto. We were spoiled by NowRx. We could get 90 day prescriptions, same day delivery, immediate assistance (no holding) when we called. Alto is exactly the opposite. Can't get 90 day prescriptions for most products. Also doesn't have much inventory, even of common meds, so when you ask for a fill, they tell you they won't get the medication for 2+ days. Also, they only deliver from 12:30 - 3:30 and 6 - 9. No morning deliveries. We switched to NowRx 2 years ago and it was a panacea. Now we're likely to revert to the long line neighborhood drugstore or insurance company mail deliveries (which are automatically renewed for 90 days) and quickly authorized. The only downside is the mailings are from out of state. Good luck to all! read more

If you have a medication that you really need, I do not recommend this pharmacy. They said they filled my medication would be delivered on the 16th and then that day they updated the delivery date to the following month. Doesn't really do much for me then. They then told me to call my doctor and have the medication transferred to a different pharmacy. I wasn't able to due to the pharmacy stating they filled it. This is the 2nd month in a row that they did this to me. So far Alto has been a headache for me. read more

Started using Alto a few months ago and I have been nothing but absolutely floored with their service level! They communicate almost instantly if I ever have any questions. I had trouble with my FSA but things got sorted out. Alto was very nice to explain to me how the system worked. I had to work with my doctor to get the prescriptions and it's delivery just right, and Alto helped me out every step of the way.I so much like having my meds delivered than having to pick them up from CVS or get them mailed. My doctor called in my prescription and it was delivered by Alto the following day! The Alto team was easy to communicate with; they texted me the prescription confirmation and how to sign up on the app. They already had my insurance information on hand and it was so easy to text back and forth with their team. The delivery was extremely fast, you are able to track your package, they give you updates when the package is almost delivered and then a delivery confirmation when it arrives. Avoid until they get their act together. Changes within recent months have turned what used to be a great service into dysfunctional chaos. There is a continuous disconnect between front-end customer service and back-end payment processing. Four months of refills with incorrect price applied - four months of having the exact same conversation in order to correct. Even with the thread from those conversations in full view. Today I was charged twice for the same medication and overcharged yet again for the other. Every month this happens, and every month I'm assured their internal issue has been fixed. The long lines at CVS pharmacy are easier to navigate - and that's a low bar. read more
