DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!! Horrible experience so far dealing with this place. I made the mistake of believing them when they said I had to pay out of pocket for my meds because of the new year. I paid for the first few doses and figured I would call insurance when I was better. Next thing I know they start charging my credit card without my permission. According to Blue Cross this breaks their contractual agreement. I am now working on getting all future IV medication somewhere else. read more

Terrible, terrible customer service, by the "creep" at the front counter. He was on his lunch and refused to come out to the counter and assist the person running the register. What should have taken 5 minutes took 15 minutes. Simple solution: Do not patronize this pharmacy, and, hopefully, they will go out of business. There is nothing wrong with the prescriptions that are filled here....but the socially awkward guy who mans the front counter creeps me out. Not the best service....I stood there for a good three minutes, directly in front of him, with no one else there before he acknowledged me. Even then, just a strange experience...I recommend Los Altos Pharmacy instead. read more

I have been a customer of this pharmacy store for over 20 years. The pharmacists are very knowledgeable and helpful to my personal needs. My meds are not carried by CVS and other big chain stores. Yet, I can get them from SV Pharmacy. The staffs at the counter are friendly and attentive. I usually get my meds within 5 minutes. When they got busy with other customers, I would drop off my prescriptions, went for a car wash or grocery shopping. As I returned to the store, my meds were ready to go. I prefer them over the big chain store because SV Pharmacy provides quality personal serivces. I recommend them highly. read more

it's conveniently located for one of my disabled clients, so i've been here a number of times. some of the items are reasonably priced. others are expensive, but i understand as it's not exactly high volume, tucked away in a sleepy shopping ctr. the older guy who works at the counter is indeed creepy looking. he has this orange peroxided hair, eyebrows bleached to match, a little gold link bracelet on his wrist. he's a little haughty too. they have various products for elderly/disabled folks, like commodes, urinals, adult diapers. the front room is wheelchair accessible, mostly, but the second room really is not. you still need to negotiate around their row of manual wheelchairs right inside the door. read more

I was very impressed with the professionalism here. My doctor prescribed me a medication that is, unfortunately, on national backorder. I couldn't find it anywhere. My doctor was able to find it here, but as a made-from-scratch compound. They had my custom made perscription ready in a couple of hours, and called me when it was ready. We have had very positive experiences here over the past year+, looking for medical supplies for my dad. Brian is fantastic, especially. First visit, we just wanted to get some basic info on wheelchairs. Brian went through all the options available through their location and spent time helping my dad try out a few. He also gave up tips for items they don't carry (what to look for / where to go). We especially appreciated the rental program for wheelchairs. We got what we needed, with time to try it out and decide if we wanted to buy & prices are reasonable. I was able to renew/extend the rental over the phone, which was extremely convenient. We have also gotten a number of other supplies here - canes, toilet seat equipment, etc. My only "complaint" is that they do not rent out hospital beds. That would have been really helpful for us. Instead, we went through the headache of getting a bed through Medicare, which has taken us nearly two months to get, and what came still wasn't ideal (plus we had to fight long and hard to get an electric one - no way my mom was going to have the strength to manually raise/lower the bed multiple times a day). If this location had done bed rentals or sales, we would have bought one months ago. They no longer can take Medicare, but that's just how it is these days - not their fault. Brian made sure we knew that right from the get-go, so as to set expectations. I haven't used the pharmacy, but whenever I'm in there they seem to have regular, loyal customers - so I wouldn't hesitate to get a prescription filled there. Also, they are one of the only compounding pharmacies around. 5 Stars is for Brian. He makes up for the miss on the bed rental/buy. Thank you for being so concerned for your customers and making sure our experiences were pleasant ones! This particular pharmacy is the only pharmacy that carries the medication which works best for me. The staff is kind and considerate as well as understanding to the needs of others. This place was awful. The staff appeared completely surprised and baffled when I came in to get an Rx filled. Then they told me to go and they would call me. When? Maybe today...maybe tomorrow. They were very busy. This seemed odd given I was the only customer in the store at the time. I went somewhere else and got the Rx in 15 mins. read more

This place can't seem to do anything right with my RXs. They never return a phone call, or even call when an RX is ready to be picked up. Or call if there's a problem with it It's been 3 years now of using this place and nearly every time, there's a communication issue of some sort. And the staff is less than helpful. The young Asian girl there is a dumb as a rock (don't ask her for an applicator, she'll tell you they don't have any - ever). The young guy is very helpful and pleasant, but I don't see him very often. David is great, but who wants to interrupt the pharmacist himself when his staff is incompetent? Yikes - the manicured guy at the counter - has a bad attitude even on his best days. It takes him forever to acknowledge a customer, even when you're the only one at the counter. And he seems genuinely annoyed if he has to wait on you. I see others have had this experience with him as well. Good to know about the Los Altos Pharmacy - 18 miles further than this one - but will keep in mind for next time. read more

Terrible experience after having them as my compounding pharmacy for over two years to all of a sudden "we'll let you know" ... I waited for a prescription I need to take regularly I mean I do need this. Knowing I'd be out of this for a couple of days , I waited. When I didn't hear from them I called back to check on the progress and they would not and did not accommodate my needs! As I've been getting my prescription by mail due to the distance away I decided to ask them to transfer my script to a nearby compounding pharmacy. They did. Well I got a call from the new pharmacy that they didn't have the ingredients to prepare my prescription and wouldn't for a few weeks. The problem is I need to maintain without missing a dose after I asked them to send back the original script I hurried to contact silicon valley pharmacy to let them know and that's when I began to wait then LET DOWN! After waiting and thinking they meant they're preparing my meds they then stated they would now need a new script from by Doctor and would not accept the original script that I'd transferred out back... Does not and did not make sense! I pay them cash and there ought not have been any problems. Well my doctor called in a new script and THEY WOULDN'T ACCEPT IT turning me away and not honoring their request. THEY CUT ME OFF A NEEDED MEDICATION. So my doctor's office graciously found me a compounding pharmacy that could meet my needs where the new prescription ended up. SAME PRESCRIPTION I've been on so no changes to disrupt the processing yet this is the worst thing that could happen if you need to maintain a prescription regularly. THIS COMPOUNDING PHARMACY CALLED SILICON VALLEY PHARMACY IS NOT DEPENDABLE FOR A MEDICALLY NECESSARY REGIMENT! read more

Not only is the service horrendous but the billing practices here are very unethical. They claim to be an Anthem Blue Cross provider but good luck getting them to honor their contract and actually bill the insurance company. Not a good place to bring your children as the guy behind the counter is a creep. Take your business elsewhere. read more

We had 3 prescriptions compounded,which means they make them into a liquid,and flavor them. We used them for three prescriptions. Since its for our yorkie,its not covered by insurance. it is very expensive to have this done. We used them once, and all the prescriptions,clumps to the bottom of each bottle and coagulate too. This is the worst compounding of drugs we have ever seen. Every time I have to use these drugs,I have to put a stick in each bottle to unstick all the clump on the bottom of the bottle. Obviously,I'm sure we r not giving her the correct dose,because of the way we have to try and mix the clumps with the liquid. Incidentally,we had used another pharmacy,but they changed owners and were not accepting new RX's. Since we paid around $280.00 for these meds,you would think they would have mixed them correctly. I'm not even going to give them one star,because they do not deserve it. I did call to talk to someone about quality control,but suddenly the person was unavailable and I was asked to leave a msg on voicemail. Quality control on medication is a very serious situation,but apparently not to them. After consulting w another compound pharmacy,we had previously used( they were closed for renovations,so we were forced to try Silicon Valley) we found out the term for what the problem we had is called "caking". Basically,the medicine is not compounded correctly,causing it to clump at the bottom of the bottle. No matter,what I did,I could not get it to mix together. We went back to the pharmacy,we had gone to previously,Santa Clara Drug,and our meds came out great. I'll never use them or recommend them to anyone! read more

Very questionable ethical issues with insurance claim submittals. Even though they have a contractual agreement with Anthem/Express Scripts to submit ALL claims for reimbursement, they made us prepay and submit claims on our own. They said their reimbursement from Anthem was not sufficient to compensate them for cost of compounding our medication. For over two years we submitted monthly claims of $200 to Anthem/Express Scripts.for reimbursement and; this enabled Silicon Valley to profit greatly since they bypassed the Anthem system. When we told Anthem that they would not submit claims, Anthem intervened and reminded Silicon Valley that they had to submit ALL claims--Silicon Valley Pharmacy then told us to go elsewhere for our compounded medication as they were unable to "secure one of the drugs used in the compounding formula!" Customer beware. read more

It is primarily a compound pharmacy, meaning that it makes drugs that the chains do not carry so it caters to the individual needs of doctors and their patients. I so agree with the others about the creepy guy at the counter. He is rude!! I had a few occasions to get persciptions for myself, and recently for my father. They say they take insurance but then WON'T bill it, thats just not right my parents are on a fixed income. I have spoke with the pharmacist David and he is pleasant but no one there ever has had a smile on there face. Think it's time to find a friendly place. read more

I have high praise for this pharmacy. One of my parrots needed a particular medication so he can be nebulized for a respiratory problem, and it also needed to be shipped to me on ice. These folks made it up promptly, had it shipped overnight on ice, then called to be sure that it had arrived as promised. In all the phone contacts that my veterinarian and myself had with them they were courteous and helpful. It is wonderful to have them as a resource. read more

I went to this specialty pharmacy after my doctor gave me a prescription for a compounded medicine, something that is not made by drug companies. Actually, I went to two chain drugstores where the pharmacists there said that they were unable to make the medication. The second chain store referred me to Silicon Valley Pharmacy. The pharmacist explained that this was a custom prescription and needed to be compounded for me specifically. He instructed his technician to make my prescription a priority as I had already wasted a couple of days searching for a pharmacy that could make this miracle drug. The medication was ready that same day and the pharmacist again spoke to me with instructions on how to get the most benefit from my custom medication. As the pharmacist predicted, it took a few days for the medication to start working. I was elated since no other drugs were effective for my condition. It turns out that this pharmacy specializes in compounding and specialty pharmacy. It was a real eye opener that a pharmacy still mixes ingredients on the premises that work better than what the big drug companies can make. read more
